Wuliang Mountains Series | Episode 8: Golden tortoise beetle

A quarter of the Earth's animal species are beetles, which have been around for 250 million years. You can find them almost everywhere there is land. China's Fujian, Sichuan and Yunnan provinces are home to golden tortoise beetles. The insect species have a pair of hard elytra with transparent extension that sticks tightly to the surface when danger lurks, making the beetle very hard to pry on.
