There are few private hospitals with treatment options and lot of consultation Centres with no treatment facility but maximum curative medicine is happening in government sector. All doctors are bound by the Hippocratic oath. Unnecessary tests for financial benefit is wrong. It does not define a doctor. But at the same time, publicly humiliating doctors by throwing across questions without giving a space for constructive answers is unfair. Gopinath should have managed this debate better.

When you talk about master checkup, one should understand that doctors aren't recommending it. Insurance companies and corporate hospitals are. Don't take health and life insurance if you don't want to pay for these tests. We doctors are also happy not to recommend them.

Master Health Check Ups are done to find out the disease in the initial stages so that treatment can started earlier to save the patient. Diabetes and Hypertension are serious diseases. Ultrasound doesn't cause radiation. It doesn't cause baldness. You don't have to be a doctor to know all this. Simply having a smartphone and google is enough

இல்லை, உடலின் நோய் எதிர்ப்பற்றலை - தற்காலிகமாக - கொஞ்சம் அதிகரித்து நோய் குணமானது போன்ற மயக்கத்தை உண்டுபண்ணுகிறதா? மருத்துவ அறிவியலாளர்கள் விடை சொல்ல வேண்டும். மாற்று மருத்துவ முறைகள் ஒரு கட்டத்தில் மருந்துகளைத் தவிர்த்துவிட்டு உணவையே மருந்தாக உட்கொள்ளும் இயல்பான வாழ்க்கைப்போக்கிறகு நோயாளியைத் தயார்படுத்துகின்றன. சுருக்கமாகச் சொல்வதானால், தனிப்பட்ட மனிதன் ஒருவனின் உடல்நலத்துக்கும், மனநலத்துக்கும் இணக்கமான உணவுகள் அவனிடம் நோய்களை விளைவிப்பதில்லை. மருத்துவ அறிவியலோ நோயாளி சாப்பிடும் உணவு குறித்தோ, வாழ்முறை குறித்தோ கண்டுகொள்ளாமல் ரசாயன மருந்துகளைத் தொடர்ந்து உட்கொள்ளுமாறு அவனை வற்புறுத்துகிறது. உடலில் சர்க்கரையின் அளவு மற்றும் இரத்த அழுத்தத்தின் அளவு போன்றவை அவ்வப்போது அவற்றின் இயல்பிலிருந்து மாறுவது சாதாரணமானதே. ஆனால், மருத்துவ அறிவியல் அவற்றை நோய்களாகக் குறிப்பிடுவதோடு சாகும்வரை அதற்காக நோயாளி(?) மருந்து எடுத்துக்கொண்டாக வேண்டும் எனவும் வலியுறுத்தத் தலைப்படுகிறது. மேலும், உடற்கூற்றியல், உடல் செயல்பாட்டியல், தீவிர சிகிச்சை, அறுவைச் சிகிச்சை, உறுப்பு மாற்றம் மற்றும் உறுப்பு நீக்கம் போன்ற வார்த்தைகளைப் பொதுப்பயன்பாட்டுக்குக் கொண்டுவந்து எளிய மக்களைப் பயமுறுத்தவும் செய்கின்றன. மாற்று மருத்துவ முறைகள் தடுப்பூசிகளை அறவே தடைசெய்ய வேண்டும் என வலியுறுத்துகின்றன. மருத்துவ அறிவியலைச் சார்ந்த விஞ்ஞானிகளில் ஒருபிரிவினரும் தடுப்பூசி முறையை வன்மையாக எதிர்க்கின்றனர். இங்கு தடுப்பூசி மருத்துவத்தின் அடிப்படையைக் கொஞ்சம் பார்ப்போம். மருத்துவ அறிவியலின்படி கிருமிகளால்தான் நோய்கள் உணடாகின்றன. உள்நுழையும் கிருமிகளுக்குத் தகுந்தாற்போன்று நோய்களும் மாறுபடுகின்றன. காட்டாக, அம்மையையும், மஞ்சள் காமாலையையும் சொல்லலாம். அந்நோய்கள் நம் உடம்பில் வரவிடாமல் தடுப்பு மருந்துகள் பார்த்துக் கொள்கின்றன என்பதே தடுப்பூசிகள் போடுவதற்குப் பின்னிருக்கும் செய்தி. மாற்று மருத்துவ முறைகளோ கிருமிகளால் நோய் உண்டாகின்றன என்பதை ஏற்றுக்கொள்வதில்லை. சாக்கடையைச் சரியாக வைத்துக் கொண்டால் கொசுக்களைப் பற்றிக் கவலைப்படத் தேவையில்லை என்பதே அவற்றின் வாதம். நம் உடலின் இயல்பை முறையாக வைத்துக் கொண்டால் எந்நோயைப்பற்றியும் கவலைப்படத் தேவையில்லை என்பதை ஆய்வு கொண்டுதான் நிரூபிக்க வேண்டும் என்பதில்லையே? மருத்துவ அறிவியல் பரிந்துரைக்கும் மருந்துகள் பக்க விளைவுகளை ஏற்படுத்துவதாக பரவலான கருத்து இருக்கிறது. அது சரியா எனப் பார்ப்போம். ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட நோய்க்காக பரிந்துரைக்கப்படும் இரசாயன மருந்துகளை(மாத்திரை மற்றும் டானிக்) முறையாக எடுத்துக் கொள்ளும் ஒருவருக்கு சிறிது நாட்களிலேயே வேறு ஒரு நோய்க்கான அறிகுறிகள் தென்படுகின்றன. முன்பு தரப்பட்ட ரசாயன மருந்துகளின் விளைவாகவே புதிய நோய் வந்திருக்கிறது என்பது மாற்று மருத்துவர்கள் மற்றும் நடுநிலையாளார்களின் பார்வை. இரசாயன மருந்துகள் என நம்மால் சுட்டப்படும் ஆங்கில மருந்துகளின் தீமைகள் குறித்து ஆங்கில மருத்துவரான பஸ்லூர் ரஹ்மான் ’மருந்துகளால் வரும் நோய்கள்’ என ஒரு நூலே வெளியிட்டிருக்கிறார். நவீன மருத்துவத்தின் உடல் பரிசோதனைகளுக்கான முகாந்திரத்தைத் தொடர்ந்தே நோயாளிகளுக்கான மருந்துகள் பரிந்துரைக்கப்படுவதால் அச்சோதனைகளும் ஆய்வுக்கு உட்படுத்த வேண்டியவையே. தனிமனிதனின் சர்க்கரை மற்றும் இரத்த அழுத்தம் போன்ற குறைந்தபட்சக் குறைபாடுகளைச் சோதித்தறிய மேற்கொள்ளப்படும் சோதனைகளுக்குப் பெறப்படும் கட்டணங்களே அதிகம் எனும்போது உயர்சிகிச்சைகளுக்கான கட்டணங்கள் பற்றிச்சொல்லவே வேண்டாம். குறிப்பிட்ட உறுப்பு பரிசோதனை மற்றும் இலவச முழுஉடல் பரிசோதனை என்று வரச்சொல்லி நோய்த்தன்மை இல்லாதவர்களையும் நோயாளிகளாகிய ’வாடிக்கையாளர்க’ளாக மாற்றுந்தன்மையை மருத்துவம் எனச் சொல்ல இயலுமா? நவீன மருத்துவத்திற்குப் பின்னிருக்கும் வணிக அரசியலையும் நாம் மறக்காமல் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள வேண்டும். தேவைப்படும் நேரங்களில் மேற்கொள்ளப்படும் அவசரச் சோதனைகளை மாற்று மருத்துவர்கள் மறுப்பதில்லை. மாறாக, திட்டமிட்டுத் திணிக்கப்படும் உடல் பரிசோதனைகள் குறித்து அவர்கள் முன்வைக்கும் கேள்விகளுக்கு (பெரும்பாலான) ஆங்கில மருத்துவர்களிடம் நேர்மையான பதில் இல்லை என்பதே நிதர்சனம். கல்வியும், மருத்துவமும் கருணையோடு அணுகப்படவேண்டிய துறைகள். ஆனால், இன்றைய நாளிலோ அவை இரண்டுமே பெரும்வணிகத்துக்கான உத்திரவாதச் சந்தைகளாகவே காட்சியளிக்கின்றன. இச்சூழலில், அவை தடம் மாறியதற்கான காரணங்களை ஆய்ந்து கொண்டிருப்பதைவிட அவற்றின் தற்போதைய நிலை இன்னும் மோசமாகாமல் பார்த்துக் கொள்வதே பொருத்தமானது. வேண்டுமானால் அதை ஒட்டிய விவாதங்களை முன்னெடுக்கலாம்.
1.Medical seats have to be increased by govt and medical council . The anchor should know atleast these basic things. 2. If a cinema ticket costs 500, u ppl simply buy it. If a hair cutting costs 250 in big shops, no one raise a question. Ppl also buy even a 500 worth pizza. But if it is your health concern, and the investigations are really needed, u raise question against these issues with the help of some half baked people, who hardly know nothing about these life saving investigations. 3. U ppl prefer branded in every things. Then u have to pay for it. No meaning in blaming doctors for that. 4. I am not arguing that all the hospitals are good enough to serve people, without asking them to take unwanted investigations. 5.the show even said - " ultrasound can cause fetal baldness". No truth in that. It wont cause such effects. Tis wil create panic in every pregnant woman going for an antenatal check up. If u telecast such foolish things, it wil definitely harm the people . 6. And a question to anchor - " wil u and ur tv people protest against ur management for unnecessarily playing with people's emotion in shows like neeya nana, super singer ???" 6. And finally to the public- " show me any field, where there are 100% right ones?. Leave the bad ones once u get to know about them." 7.Why the tv people couldnt bring not even a single patient who got myocardial infarction or road traffic accidents and got life once again bcoz of timely interventions by doctors. 8. There r tons of gud doctors in tis country to help you. 9. Hard to digest - " In sum part of show, the anchor shout like anything at doctors" . Will he shout like tis at IAS officers, politicians , or actors? 10. To the Tv and anchor - If u completely know about anything , then go for it. Otherwise just shut up and stay away. We ask not to give respect to doctors. . . But atleast dont dishonour them. . .

In Sri Lanka, there is a very effective fully functioning free health and free education system. There are few private hospitals with treatment options and lot of consultation Centres with no treatment facility but maximum curative medicine is happening in government sector. Here we don’t do “master” health check up…
BP and Diabetes readings are an average. It is possible one can deviate from average. Just like if the average height of Indian male is 5.5 ft. Does it mean a man who is 6 ft tall is defective or for that matter a man whose height is only 4 feet is defective ?

I was wondering whether it is a TV debate or a commission of enquiry against the doctors. And the man conducting the enquiry was angry, rude, agitated, dismissive, arrogant, bullying and of course stupid. He made the doctors look like a bunch of worthless fools and never allowed them to speak. I find Gopi's 'my way or high way' attitude irritating. I am pretty sure that most of the doctors including Dr.Raj Kumar regret for participating in this show.

மாற்று மருத்துவ முறைகள் ஒரு கட்டத்தில் மருந்துகளைத் தவிர்த்துவிட்டு உணவையே மருந்தாக உட்கொள்ளும் இயல்பான வாழ்க்கைப்போக்கிறகு நோயாளியைத் தயார்படுத்துகின்றன. சுருக்கமாகச் சொல்வதானால், தனிப்பட்ட மனிதன் ஒருவனின் உடல்நலத்துக்கும், மனநலத்துக்கும் இணக்கமான உணவுகள் அவனிடம் நோய்களை விளைவிப்பதில்லை. மருத்துவ அறிவியலோ நோயாளி சாப்பிடும் உணவு குறித்தோ, வாழ்முறை குறித்தோ கண்டுகொள்ளாமல் ரசாயன மருந்துகளைத் தொடர்ந்து உட்கொள்ளுமாறு அவனை வற்புறுத்துகிறது.
உடலில் சர்க்கரையின் அளவு மற்றும் இரத்த அழுத்தத்தின் அளவு போன்றவை அவ்வப்போது அவற்றின் இயல்பிலிருந்து மாறுவது சாதாரணமானதே. ஆனால், மருத்துவ அறிவியல் அவற்றை நோய்களாகக் குறிப்பிடுவதோடு சாகும்வரை அதற்காக நோயாளி(?) மருந்து எடுத்துக்கொண்டாக வேண்டும் எனவும் வலியுறுத்தத் தலைப்படுகிறது. மேலும், உடற்கூற்றியல், உடல் செயல்பாட்டியல், தீவிர சிகிச்சை, அறுவைச் சிகிச்சை, உறுப்பு மாற்றம் மற்றும் உறுப்பு நீக்கம் போன்ற வார்த்தைகளைப் பொதுப்பயன்பாட்டுக்குக் கொண்டுவந்து எளிய மக்களைப் பயமுறுத்தவும் செய்கின்றன.
மாற்று மருத்துவ முறைகள் தடுப்பூசிகளை அறவே தடைசெய்ய வேண்டும் என வலியுறுத்துகின்றன. மருத்துவ அறிவியலைச் சார்ந்த விஞ்ஞானிகளில் ஒருபிரிவினரும் தடுப்பூசி முறையை வன்மையாக எதிர்க்கின்றனர். இங்கு தடுப்பூசி மருத்துவத்தின் அடிப்படையைக் கொஞ்சம் பார்ப்போம். மருத்துவ அறிவியலின்படி கிருமிகளால்தான் நோய்கள் உணடாகின்றன. உள்நுழையும் கிருமிகளுக்குத் தகுந்தாற்போன்று நோய்களும் மாறுபடுகின்றன. காட்டாக, அம்மையையும், மஞ்சள் காமாலையையும் சொல்லலாம். அந்நோய்கள் நம் உடம்பில் வரவிடாமல் தடுப்பு மருந்துகள் பார்த்துக் கொள்கின்றன என்பதே தடுப்பூசிகள் போடுவதற்குப் பின்னிருக்கும் செய்தி. மாற்று மருத்துவ முறைகளோ கிருமிகளால் நோய் உண்டாகின்றன என்பதை ஏற்றுக்கொள்வதில்லை.
சாக்கடையைச் சரியாக வைத்துக் கொண்டால் கொசுக்களைப் பற்றிக் கவலைப்படத் தேவையில்லை என்பதே அவற்றின் வாதம். நம் உடலின் இயல்பை முறையாக வைத்துக் கொண்டால் எந்நோயைப்பற்றியும் கவலைப்படத் தேவையில்லை என்பதை ஆய்வு கொண்டுதான் நிரூபிக்க வேண்டும் என்பதில்லையே?
மருத்துவ அறிவியல் பரிந்துரைக்கும் மருந்துகள் பக்க விளைவுகளை ஏற்படுத்துவதாக பரவலான கருத்து இருக்கிறது. அது சரியா எனப் பார்ப்போம். ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட நோய்க்காக பரிந்துரைக்கப்படும் இரசாயன மருந்துகளை(மாத்திரை மற்றும் டானிக்) முறையாக எடுத்துக் கொள்ளும் ஒருவருக்கு சிறிது நாட்களிலேயே வேறு ஒரு நோய்க்கான அறிகுறிகள் தென்படுகின்றன. முன்பு தரப்பட்ட ரசாயன மருந்துகளின் விளைவாகவே புதிய நோய் வந்திருக்கிறது என்பது மாற்று மருத்துவர்கள் மற்றும் நடுநிலையாளார்களின் பார்வை. இரசாயன மருந்துகள் என நம்மால் சுட்டப்படும் ஆங்கில மருந்துகளின் தீமைகள் குறித்து ஆங்கில மருத்துவரான பஸ்லூர் ரஹ்மான் ’மருந்துகளால் வரும் நோய்கள்’ என ஒரு நூலே வெளியிட்டிருக்கிறார்.
நவீன மருத்துவத்தின் உடல் பரிசோதனைகளுக்கான முகாந்திரத்தைத் தொடர்ந்தே நோயாளிகளுக்கான மருந்துகள் பரிந்துரைக்கப்படுவதால் அச்சோதனைகளும் ஆய்வுக்கு உட்படுத்த வேண்டியவையே. தனிமனிதனின் சர்க்கரை மற்றும் இரத்த அழுத்தம் போன்ற குறைந்தபட்சக் குறைபாடுகளைச் சோதித்தறிய மேற்கொள்ளப்படும் சோதனைகளுக்குப் பெறப்படும் கட்டணங்களே அதிகம் எனும்போது உயர்சிகிச்சைகளுக்கான கட்டணங்கள் பற்றிச்சொல்லவே வேண்டாம். குறிப்பிட்ட உறுப்பு பரிசோதனை மற்றும் இலவச முழுஉடல் பரிசோதனை என்று வரச்சொல்லி நோய்த்தன்மை இல்லாதவர்களையும் நோயாளிகளாகிய ’வாடிக்கையாளர்க’ளாக மாற்றுந்தன்மையை மருத்துவம் எனச் சொல்ல இயலுமா? நவீன மருத்துவத்திற்குப் பின்னிருக்கும் வணிக அரசியலையும் நாம் மறக்காமல் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள வேண்டும். தேவைப்படும் நேரங்களில் மேற்கொள்ளப்படும் அவசரச் சோதனைகளை மாற்று மருத்துவர்கள் மறுப்பதில்லை. மாறாக, திட்டமிட்டுத் திணிக்கப்படும் உடல் பரிசோதனைகள் குறித்து அவர்கள் முன்வைக்கும் கேள்விகளுக்கு (பெரும்பாலான) ஆங்கில மருத்துவர்களிடம் நேர்மையான பதில் இல்லை என்பதே நிதர்சனம்.
கல்வியும், மருத்துவமும் கருணையோடு அணுகப்படவேண்டிய துறைகள். ஆனால், இன்றைய நாளிலோ அவை இரண்டுமே பெரும்வணிகத்துக்கான உத்திரவாதச் சந்தைகளாகவே காட்சியளிக்கின்றன. இச்சூழலில், அவை தடம் மாறியதற்கான காரணங்களை ஆய்ந்து கொண்டிருப்பதைவிட அவற்றின் தற்போதைய நிலை இன்னும் மோசமாகாமல் பார்த்துக் கொள்வதே பொருத்தமானது. வேண்டுமானால் அதை ஒட்டிய விவாதங்களை முன்னெடுக்கலாம்.
1.Medical seats have to be increased by govt and medical council . The anchor should know atleast these basic things. 2. If a cinema ticket costs 500, u ppl simply buy it. If a hair cutting costs 250 in big shops, no one raise a question. Ppl also buy even a 500 worth pizza. But if it is your health concern, and the investigations are really needed, u raise question against these issues with the help of some half baked people, who hardly know nothing about these life saving investigations.
3. U ppl prefer branded in every things. Then u have to pay for it. No meaning in blaming doctors for that.
4. I am not arguing that all the hospitals are good enough to serve people, without asking them to take unwanted investigations.
5.the show even said - " ultrasound can cause fetal baldness". No truth in that. It wont cause such effects. Tis wil create panic in every pregnant woman going for an antenatal check up. If u telecast such foolish things, it wil definitely harm the people .
6. And a question to anchor - " wil u and ur tv people protest against ur management for unnecessarily playing with people's emotion in shows like neeya nana, super singer ???"

Dear Social Judge Gopinath, right now I have got one patient with acute heart attack.She needs immediate thrombolysis.The relatives are reluctant to accept as they have lot of wrong advisers around them including media. You should be ashamed for this situation! Patient is not able to trust doctors because of the fact that everyone came to know that doctors gets commissions from everywhere like lab, scan centre, medical shops.. Doctors may know the other sources of commissions!
