Growing up, my sister literally was abusive to me, stealing from me, bullying me, when she did something wrong she tried to frame it on me and ENJOYED my mental torture.
She was literally an older shoebill sibling to my mental health and almost everyone is like "that's how kids are" when I tell them that and confused why there is no sibling bond between me and my sister

At times when the mother's nutritional intake isn't enough, the body taking from her nutrient stores and breaking down tissue to produce milk for the baby is kinda a form matriphagy

Along those lines, babies will leach calcium from their mother’s bones. Not uncommon for mothers to have arthritis or lose their teeth.

I was actually telling my dad about caecilians earlier today, saying that the offspring ate parts of their mother. He, having used to live in Italy, laughed and told me that wasn’t true. I gave him a weird look, he gave me a weird look when he realized I was being serious, then I said “caecilians. Like, the amphibians.”
He said he just thought I had a really weird misconception about Italians.

That's nuts, I was actually driving home yesterday and thought, "Hey that Daninblue guy hasn't posted in a while." I figured it was a break during the holidays.
Anyways, this was a very interesting topic (not surprised it's not more widely studied). No doubt this practice has links to some extended period of time where resources were scarce in the species' histories. I wonder if a study has been considered to see if the instinctual inclinations in species that do this can phased away through a few generations by placing them in a controlled nutrient rich environment.
And yes, I would be interested in a parent v.s. offspring conflict topic video.

Most likely matriphy is just more food for numerous babies who can’t hunt for food just yet and mommy has a lot of nutrients. More babies to survive means the species survives in numbers and not just one mommy. Nature seems to favor which ever increases the amount of individuals to survive.

The blood of Orochi flows over the Hakkesshus. They are the Servants of this God. They represent the forces of Nature and are reincarnated every 100 years. And each of them represents one of the 8 heads of Orochi. They possess superhuman powers, and their only desire is to break the Seal of Orochi, release the Power of the Void, and resurrect their Lord. They are born in random parts of the world, with no memories. Without knowing who they are. But one day or another, they will discover their purpose. They will have to fight against the Sacred Treasures (Yata Clan, Yagami Clan and Kusanagi Clan). They, the Sacred Treasures, are the protectors of the seal. Orochi's desire is to destroy all of humanity, leaving only Gaia (Earth) and Nature. The Hakkesshus will do anything to achieve their goal.
