One of the dumbest mini games ever. The RNG calculated onto the values after you commit to a move ruins it completely. Imagine you're playing Blackjack and you get a 9 and a 4. You hit and get an 8, so you stay on 21. Then suddenly the dealer goes "uh actually a random value is assigned, so your 4 is actually a 10" and you lose
Absolutely disgusting and i feel your pain mate. However...i am one of the few rhat really really loves blitzball. I loved levelling up and learning new skills and winning cups and items etc. i would honestly enjoy a modern day blitzball game. In the style of FIFA for example. But keep those skill moves and status effects in there.
Yeah. Love the game, hate the busted ass one sided rng. I still have nightmares of getting the ball tackled away that one time, my guy had 15 end, the attacker had 9 atk. It was a tournament finals, my guy was completely free, 26 sht with venom shot 2, goalie had 18 blk, with 22 seconds on the clock. Then they won in overtime on their first shot, 18 sht vs 22 blk. Ball reached the goal at 14, still went in. I lose In just over a minute, the ai gave itself a +7, and me a -9 check
@@evilhorst7254 honestly anything is boring when you have to grind it for 20 hours. If your just playing to enjoy blitzball is suoer fun especially when you don't use the broken characters.
Wedge the attacker has an ATK of 13. Nav guado the one with the ball has an endurance EN of 7. Mathematically 13 beats 7. Which means wedge should have been able to steal the ball. But because of RNG bs, the tackle only did 6 points of damage to the defender's seven points of endurance...... because reasons.
To add to what yeager said, anyone who plays Blitzball will immediately recognise that the stats have random wiggle room. But usually a few points either side, maybe 10-20% fudge factor. What happened here was nuts to me. My AT lost over 50% of its value.
@@yeager643 I believe it's stat + or - 50%. Had Wedge had 14 ATK, it would have been impossible for Nav to take the hit, although usually the fudge factor is around 20%, to get a 50% is pretty godlike unlucky.
@@Kaimine08 yeah I've played countless hours of blitzball and about as bad as I've ever seen until now was a shot of 8 getting past a goalie with 12 CA. A score of 7 EN beating 13 AT is a first for me, and I've played this game since it came out on PS2.
something to do with with getting the ball and sitting in your own goal breaking enemy ai iirc for those wondering. caveat is that you have to score at least once (ideally with Jecht Shot in the first half.) and prevent the other team from scoring. easier if they dont start with possession imo

I actually kinda liked blitzball, but yeah the RNG BS was infuriating.
I would play an entire game that is just a more complex and complete blitzball. They should add one to FF14.

Nah thats not true. Blitzball is incredibly easy. Just put the controls on manual and you should never loose a game. Its extremely boring though.

Hate it when rng gets ya bad. Once had 3 attackers with around 18 atk, go against 30 endurance. He survived with 1 😅
