From Emmy-winning executive producer Dick Wolf and co-creator Derek Haas comes Season 10 of the drama "Chicago Fire." This adrenaline-fueled ride is a look into the lives of Firehouse 51's firefighters and paramedics as they risk their lives to save and protect the citizens of Chicago.
Led by Capt. Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Lt. Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney), the Truck and Rescue Squad companies are more than co-workers, they're family.

Severide has delt with more tragedy than what he lets on, so Violet and him talking is a great moment in the show

Me too! Shay was important to him but I think Anna was someone he was in love with and even knowing the situation and how it would end.
It absolutely destroyed him when she died and that she had a DNR which meant that nobody intervened.
Anna and Shay's deaths changed Kelly in such fundamental ways

i like how kelly is always the one who comforts in these situations for their medics, first with chilli and now with violet. goes to show how much shay meant to him

If anyone has experience dealing with the grief of losing someone it’s Kelly he’s had his fair share like how they did this scene.
That was an outstanding scene. Both of them are outstanding actors and bring a lot to this show.

To be honest, I was not expecting this to come from Severide but I’m happy they are able to connect with one another about their passed-on loved ones.
Violet saying she’s afraid she’ll be seeing Evan everywhere, took me back to season 3, Severide came back to work after Shay’s death, and this one specific scene, the alarm goes off, he goes to Squad 3 truck and from the side mirror sees Brett getting on the 61 as if was Shay, until she looks back. Idk if it’s the same episode, but later, Severide is pretty drunk at Mollys and sitting next to Brett, touching her face and hair, telling everyone if they’re crazy and don’t see the resemblance like he does.

This scene is amazingly well crafted, playing off the entirety of the series and tying in the 51 is a family aspect.
I loved the two heart-to-hearts between Kelly and Violet in this episode. So wholesome of him to take the time to not only check on her, but give her a chance to vent her feelings, and give her tips on HOW to come to terms with losing Hawkins.
Severide: a Cocky but Heartwarming guy at the same time

Honestly surprised Severide didn’t bring up Shay as his example, since the Shay’s death was so similar to Hawkins
I think he brought up Anna instead of Shay to connect with Violet in the sense of he's been where she was in terms of having a significant other die.
I think Shay’s death is something that he will not touch.
yeah bc he lived with shay and worked with her, there’s literally a scene where sylvie gets into the ambulance and he thinks he sees shay so he can relate to seeing someone he’s lost everywhere he goes

You should have been including the scene of violet actually coming back to work and trying to be strong. They need to grow this friendship, this was a very good scene.

I cried so much when Hawkins died. I was like why didn't they get rid of the EMT girl that was blackmailing him. They had the nerve to promote her after all she's done.

Kelly is a married man that kind of mess don't work with everyone especially with a woman like Brett
Severide growing from the young, wild lieutenant he was at the beginning of the show to the leader he has become by season 11 is the perfect character arc. It’s like all the talk about who he could become is coming true, but in a way that seems to take the best of his father, Benny, and match it with what Kelly always wished his father would be. Being able to develop a character like Kelly the way they have on Chicago Fire is a must do if a show is really going to last as long as this one has and be as good in Season 11 as it ever was.
I agree with you, I have heard people complain that they want the old Kelly back. Unmarried and carefree but the truth is his character needed to grow and they have done an excellent job in that. Nothing kills a show faster than leaving a character the same for too many years. It’s not interesting to watch a guy in his 40’s acting like he hasn’t grown up or evolved. It just goes to show you if you do great writing you’re able to show how all the people in someone’s life changes them and in Kelly’s case for the better. He was always a great character but now they have given him a more stabile and meaningful life.
@@gailfirenze3606 Absolutely. Growing as a character, especially someone like Severide who was young when we first met him, keeps the show progressing. Chicago Fire has done a tremendous job of character development and introducing quality new faces that provide new elements but still fit the overall tone of the show. It’s why it’s been able to stay on TV so long and still be successful.
@@mc386106 I couldn’t agree more and that is why it’s the most successful of the One Chicago franchise. And is consistently in the top 10 overall of all the 134 or so shows on tv.

Anna was so good for him. of course i always love stellaride, but anna was a nice character journey for the show, and of course her dying off was devastating.
2 absolutely incredible people. Such a touching and heartwarming scene 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹. Love Violet so much. What a beautiful, absolutely gorgeous and amazing lady she is. So extremely talented and really love her smile. She has a really beautiful smile. Really really nice smile. Her smile is out of this world and she is absolutely phenomenal. This is my favourite show on tv and would love to be a part of it someday.

I was an avid fan of Chicago Fire, especially drawn to the character dynamics and relationships that made the show compelling. However, over time, changes in those dynamics caused my interest to wane. The pivotal moment for me was when Matt Casey left the show. His departure marked a significant loss, as I had been particularly invested in the friendship arc between Casey and Severide. That bond was a key element that kept me engaged. After it dissolved, the show lost much of its appeal. Even the storyline between Kidd and Severide, while interesting, wasn't enough to sustain my attention. Ultimately, the shift in character dynamics led me to stop watching.
