    Tapes are absolutely the only extension that doesn't cause damage. I have fine, thin, fragile hair and fusion bonds made me near bald, micro beads slipped out and also caused mass hair loss. The absolute worst were glue extensions and a weave. Had a trial track and it gave me a massive panic attack. Horrible claustrophobic feel having a tight braid and hair being sucked tight to your scalp. Tapes don't cause hair loss or damage if installed properly. They are the only extensions that have helped my breaking whispy hair the opportunity to grow

      I wouldn’t suggest the beaded weft. They feel very unnatural and are bulky, after only a week they started pulling my hair out at the root. Took them out immediately, had so much luck with tape ins.

    • @Proextensionist
      @Proextensionist  3 года назад +2

      Tape is glue babe that is terrible on your hair. The braidless weft stylist should of used more of your own hair or used invisible flat weft method much more light on your hair as it’s only one track. Please be careful with tape in x

    • @JessNV
      @JessNV 3 года назад +2

      @@Proextensionist I’ve had tape ins for 4 years with zero problems, my natural hair is healthier now than it’s ever been. I just wanted more movement of my natural hair. The beaded wefts were the worst for this and even though the wefts were single wefts they were incredibly bulky, even after she reinstalled them I had way too much hair loss for them to be sustainable. The technique you showed seems like there is much more movement.

    • @Proextensionist
      @Proextensionist  3 года назад +1

      That’s a shame I get lot of hair loss from people who have had tapes for years and never from Braidless weave maybe it’s how I do the tapes. I don’t really offer them anymore

    • @JessNV
      @JessNV 3 года назад

      @@Proextensionist I think a lot of it is the removal. I found a great product that makes them slide out with very little residue, I just squeeze a little at the top of the tape, by the time I get to the top it’s half separated and squeeze a little more to the part that is still attached, and when I get back to the first extension they slide right out, no pulling or tearing at all. I’ll do a hair mask and it will remove any glue left in the hair. Although when I tried the mini tapes I had problems with them twisting and pulling throughout the day, but the full size have been awesome.

    • @dnllmaurer1
      @dnllmaurer1 3 года назад +6

      @@terkv have you tried a braidless weave? Either a U-shape part at crown to install a continuous weft or multiple front to back parts on top for small weft pieces. 2nd method adds volume to top for more styling options. Micro beads are crimped at root along parts & wefts are sewn onto beads. My hair is fine, smooth & straight so I use smallest silicone lined beads to grip & hold. Weight of extentions is evenly distributed on beads & multiple tracks can create luxurious fullness. Wefts are invisible with hair pulled up if space is left around hairline. Correct hair type, density, color match & placement are all important in achieving a perfect head of hair.

    • @terkv
      @terkv 3 года назад

      @@dnllmaurer1 ohhh, I haven't tried them sewn onto the weave. That might work better. I had wefts done where it was just a regular silicone bead and no sewing or braid. They hurt a lot and fell out pretty quickly, but that sounds like a good better idea!

    • @jeannabhalerao6895
      @jeannabhalerao6895 Год назад +1

      @Jenn-dm7uo That's such a shame. You do need a reliable stylist because 8 week maintenance is critically important to keep them maintained and your own hair healthy. It doubtlessly would have been your own removal that caused the damage, because when they take them out at the salon with the matched solvent to the type of tape they use, they literally just drop off the hair. There's no tugging at all. Don't give up on them if they made you feel confident. I have really fragile thin hair and have had tape ins for 2 years continuously without a break. Last time i went for a reinstall, I asked to see my own hair rather than them being refitted one at a time. My hair had grown loads in the time I had been having tapes. So much so, that I think in another 6 months I can lose them and be able to enjoy my own hair. Also how many did you have? I wasn't comfortable with a full head, so my stylist only fitted about 50-70g (less than one packet) lower down in the bottom and gave an angel cut, so they blended. That means maintenance is only £50 -uk each time and a new install of hair is about £160 once a year. Makes maintenance much cheaper, allows me to have new fresh hair more often and feels much more comfortable and manageable. It also means I feel more natural as most of the hair is actually mine. A good extension stylist will be able to blend the least amount whilst also being honest with you when it looks silly and isn't blending.
      Don't give up on your dreams for long hair. Extensions would help you to show up as a woman and feel more confident. Begin the journey yo find a new stylist today. You deserve it.

    • @Jenn-7777
      @Jenn-7777 Год назад +2

      @@jeannabhalerao6895 thank you so much for your detailed response! I 💯 agree with you! My previous stylist always pushed for 2 packs of hair and I always felt like it was so much but still looked good.. when they started to fall out.. I would take them out myself and didn’t use anything which in hindsight I admit it was me that caused the most damage as I didn’t know. I am happy to report I found a new stylist that made it work with only half the amount and they look so good! The only gripe I have ever had is the fear of seeing the tapes at the top.. I can feel them and always think the ends of the tape stick out… I am going to ask my new stylist to do what you suggested.. putting them lower on my head. Thank you again for your kind words and advice! I really appreciate it! 🤩☺️

    • @Krmcgchy

      I Know this is older and I'm not a stylist. I have low density throughout but visible thinning in the crown and the part. It can be hard to hide extensions unless I keep them very low. There's always medication regrowth methods to try like rogain. As for scalp cover depending on how thin it is the only thing I've found is certain types of styling. Since it's such a visible area usually your talking things like coloring the scalp and adding volume either through back combing or blowout type styling. Transfer is a pain with scalp cover products. I've gotten it smudged on my nose before from moving my sunglasses between top of head and face while out and about. Embarrassing. Curling can help somewhat in the same way by adding some volume and texture. Hair direction can help for me as my hairline has a bit more density so a half up do can help hide the thinning especially with some back combing with that little bit extra hair for cover. I have yet to try one but a topper can be another way to help cover the scalp if it's more severe and styling is too much of a chore.

    Have you ever had anyone have thinning hair after hair extensions due to the weight when hair is wet ?

    I thought with the nano beads I thought the extensions were meant to go behind the real hair and also not that far up... it's too high yo the head

    Have you had anyone experienced hair thinking due to nano rings ?

      Hi if you mean thinning, yes I have but it was micro rings she refused to ever take breaks so when we done a length check after 12 months her hair had got very long almost length of extensions but 1/4 of her hair had thinned out so I learnt that my clients need breaks and should not have extensions to long and heavy. I also changed my refits to 8wks not 10pms
