It can work but takes a bit more energy and you don’t need it in most matchups. You could also build up to 7 in matchups where it is favorable (especially against tropius and jumpluff). The neutral damage of crunch with shadow claws is often enough. Also, crunch lets you hit other water types like lanturn
I have been playing azu, lickitung, feraligator. Has been doing really well as azu being a fairy wins so many leads. Spark Lanturn in the lead is an issue but otherwise it works very well so far. In the 2400s
I'm using a similar team on alt since last season, since i don't have many mons and good iv ones aswell, i use gligar jelly SS and lanturn as closer, works fine i guess
For Gligar I think you really want to win cmp against other Gligar and Whiscash. I prefer 5-7 attack. For azu just the bulkiest one you have. Don’t think Feraligatr matters that much
