    Thanks Pattay for the confidence. I was getting really nervous changing the belt and was fearful I was going to have issues getting the new one on. I watched your video and it really was a piece of cake. I did it at midnight in the freezing cold. Took me all of 30 minutes. I found sliding the belt in between the tensioner and the top of the crank pulley was the easiest way to get it started and then threaded around all the other pulleys.

    you're literally the best, I Need to do my pulley tensioner, serpentine belt, and alternator and believe it or not the part that I was most worried about was the belt this video made me realize I genuinely have nothing to worry about.     I couldn't remember how I released the tension on this belt your video sparked my memory. I used a 8" offset 14 set on the tensioner just forward of the power steering hose. You can leverage down all the way to the fender well with left hand and pull belt over the upper pulley with your right. Great video I wouldn't have remembered without it.

    Nicely done! I'm about due for another belt replacement. Did mine when I first got it 6 years ago with the plastic access panel still on! I can't believe they suggested taking off the motor mount and jacking up the engine!

      So sorry I missed this...yes 1A auto did a video showing you how to replace it. The say to disconnect the PS Motor and jack it up😳

    Replaced mine using this method. Thanks for the video! A 14mm flex head wrench for the tensioner bolt really helps get the job done.

      I have to do my belt again started squeaking! It already has a new tensioner. Belt I got was on clearance at rock auto cost me less than $8 now I’m just gonna spend the big bucks and get one with a lifetime warranty ☺️

      I need to buy one for my element, tried using a regular tensioner tool and you run out of space. I saw the lady in the A1 video pull the mount but she still used a flex head so I was confused. On day 3 of replacing my alternator because of that tensioner

      Don’t forget the tensioner too! Good habit to get into! Get one with a lifetime guarantee! I think I got mine from Advance Auto or Rockauto!

    This really helps and I really appreciate you doing this video. I've also saw a lot of strange ways to change the belt and thought, "Taking off the motor mount? What???" There has to be a better way. So Thank You Sir!!!!!

      Great fix on doing it yourself. I do have about 18-20 videos E related on the channel. I think I created a play list for it. Don’t ask me how to get to it! 🤣 of course many more are on the way.

    Very helpful technique, was able to change the belt in about 25 min, but I believe the diagram may be off slightly. This video saved me a lot of time and effort, thank you!

      Thank you, I watched a HOW TO from 1AAuto, and they had you disconnecting the passenger motor mount and jacking up the engine from the oil pan.
      When I was doing my AC Compressor I realized that motor mount step isn't necessary.

      Success! It was my first time. Slightly confusing at first. I’m very happy I found this video. I used the gates tensioner and Bando. I paid about 70$ all in. I was at a valvoline in my work vehicle and they wanted 150 for serpentine service.

    Hey really appreciate the efforts. Thank you for the diagram is wrong and I was trying for a long time to do it that way and it won't go so it should go from the crankshaft through the tensioner then up to the AC

    I would suggest using the Honda belt. Mine lasted 120k. Good video

      Awesome! I'm not a professional by any means but I was taught to replace the belt every 50k as the recommended service interval. I stick to that on all my cars. I like to change thanks before they become an issue. I just did a quick google search. People are saying Honda recommends serpentine belt to be changed between 50-100k miles.

    You did it right but your drawing is wrong. It won't loop around the power steering to the tensioner from the crank.

    Rent the tensioner tool from auto zone or similar. It is a PIA with one person. With two, the belt goes over water pump pulley as it has no ridges

      @@pattayperformance lol, Yep I scored a few things like that. I usually walk by the clearance and auto section on they way to pick up a prescription for my wife or daughter.
      Today I was at PullAPart looking for a part for my wife’s odyssey. They had it but t wrong model year.
      Later I think I finally resolved a sticking throttle cable on MadMax
      Think it got loose. 2 , 14mm wrenches to tighten and I think that’s it. Now.... for the P0744. That’s likely a solenoid block need replacement (per @YepThatsIt youtuber from The UK. Who does vids on transmission repairs.

    Is your element k-series engine still running on that Bars (head gasket sealer)? About to do my Crv. Has a slight leak into the exhaust combustion.

      @@pattayperformance Dimensionally they have the appearance of a cigarette lighter socket, but it does not function as one. The early EXs' sockets/ports retained spring like tabs that caused plugs to jam inside. Disassembly and plier work makes them usable, but I think there should have been a recall. The issue was resolved for later years

      @@ntahater, we are not the OG owners and just acquired maybe a little over a year ago. Immediately I upgraded the OEM Deck to an android 10.1” screen hacked for apple car play. So we use USB’s off the radio to charge phones.

    Good video other than the fact that your diagram for the routing is wrong. It caused me a little stress till I realized was wrong. The belt routes in front of the tensioner pulley, not behind. Lol

    Hey man I tried changing my belt today x I could not get the tensioner loose it was very tight. What could be the issue?

      As shown in the video you need a 14mm wrench to back off the tensioner so the belt has slack to remove and install new one

      @@pattayperformance I did use a 14 and it was still very tight I tright moving it towards me just like you do and everything and still couldn't get it

      @@sodpanda1 when you pull the wrench towards it should be very stiff, need some muscle since it’s spring loaded.

    Nice job. But you didn’t put the belt on per your hand drawn diagram. You did put it on correctly though per the owners manual diagram. This threw me off for a time. DH
