I will go with the parole board on their decision as to his release because they have all the facts and I do not. It should be noted that this horrific behavior is done by a statistically few teachers. Most likely less than one half of one percent of the teachers. That said I'm assuming his teaching certificate has been revoked, he will never be in the classroom again and, again I am assuming, will be on a list of those who have offended like this man has done. Society needs to ask itself at what point does punishment lose its impact in rehabilitation? I don't have the answers.

I've watched Teachers over years, in some cases that seemed in a gray area, publicly. I knew it was inappropriate and would report it, turns out they were suspicious for years. Talk your children regularly, don't let them form friendships with any adults, without strict guidelines and oversight. People are becoming bolder in their perversions.

Most states it’s still a s*x crime for a teacher to have a relationship with a student, even when the student is an adult. It’s the position of authority that makes it a crime, not just the age of the victim
The age of consent in CT is 16. The statute for 2nd degree sexual assault is Connecticut Sec. 53a-71. The only reason he was charged with a crime at all is because he was a teacher at the same school she was attending. If he's a teacher in the next county over, there is no crime.
