      What good does Dr House's honesty do, that's the question id like to ask myself before I force my opinion upon someone who isn't yet ready to accept my version of truth or isn't capable of accepting it because it conflicts with their basic understanding of life matters or their defence mechanisms.
      And yes it is an opinion even though it's coming from "The Dr House" and there's always another way to look at things.

I know you are big fan of Cameron, and I get that, I like her too, but her chatacter has shown great amount of inconsistency especially in the early episodeswhen her borderline zealous self-righteousness clouded her judgement number of times. In this case, for example, she doesn't know if wife made a mistake or intentionally cheated yet she is quick to judge. So OC's comment is due for validation.

If he didn’t want her to get better so he wouldn’t have to face the truth, he would’ve never allowed the treatment to go through, instead of letting happen and forcing the truth to the surface. What I get out of this scene is that a “big part” of him wishes that he that was wrong and that she never cheated on him; that his wife was really perfect and that he never should’ve doubted her. Of course he wants her to get better (again, he allowed the treatment), but he also hopes that she didn’t do something so horrible to him, and that instead he was that made the wrong decision. Though that feeling itself is selfish, he can’t control how he feels about it only how he acts, and he choose to face the truth and save her life which is unquestionably selfless.

    After watching the entire episode i don't get Cameron's logic at all. The only thing she says to House after calling the husband a bad person is that she married a dying man and sticked with him till he died. The husband does literally the same thing. He puts his trust in her, and stays with her the entire time hoping that she didn't cheat on him. He says that a part of him doesn't want her to get better because that part hopes that she wouldn't try to solve marriage problems by cheating. Only after she gets better and presumably tells him about the affair with his BEST FRIEND, he feels like she crossed the line and leaves her. There is a reason for rule "best friend's significant other is a no go" to be sacred rule of friendship. People saying that husband is bad because he wishes for his wife to die, only to prove her loyalty should turn on their brains. How would You feel if You got cheated on by two most important people in Your life, who then pretended that nothing happened.

      Everyone understands the husband not wanting to discover that she was unfaithful. The problem comes when you put one option against the other. Would you rather your partner having an affair or having them die? If the answer is the latter it can be read as putting more value on faithfulness than human life, the life of someone you supposedly love.
      Again, I think the husband's mixed emotions are understandable and probably what would happen to most people in his situation, but it's not very admirable to prefer someone to be dead rather than you feeling betrayed. Cameron was insufferable for this entire episode. She told the husband he was a bad person for being angry that his wife cheated on him. The husband was completely faithful to his wife and was by her side the whole episode right up until he found out she was unfaithful. Not only that, but she cheated on her husband with his close friend. That’s pretty shitty man. And Cameron still tried to convince the husband to stay and that his wife loved him. The husband was right when he said, “How can you love someone and do that to them?” I hate that they narrow cheating down to something simple by calling it a “mistake.” Cheating isn’t a mistake, it’s a deliberate choice. Accidentally backing over something in the driveway, that’s a mistake. Banging someone that isn’t your spouse, that isn’t a mistake, you chose to do that. She’s not sad that she did it, she’s sad that she got caught cause she was willing to die to keep it a secret from him. Good on the husband for leaving her, I would’ve left her too tbh.

    No Cameron, it makes us human. None of us want to think of the one we love having cheated on us, it doesn't make us bad people to hold out hope that it's not true. Clearly he doesn't want her to die or get worse, it just means he's hoping that his entire marriage isn't build on a hill of lies, yet resigned to the fact it most likely is.

      No he's saying he wishes she didn't get better so it means she didn't cheat.
      He already chose to accept the procedure to save her life. Whether she lives or not cements his trust in their relationship.
      If she died, he might get to live widowed by a loyal wife. That is his literal best case scenario at this point. That sucks.

      @rafrecon 2 года назад +1

      @@arjunholmie True, I mispoke. But it isn't just that. At least the way I would take it is that he wishes that it would be something else, because if she gets better from this, then it's proof she cheated. Doesn't even matter your stands on cheating, he is grieving. He is grieving his relationship and his partner. It's not weird to experience intense emotions, be that rage or sorrow, what matters most is what you do with those feelings. He is allowed to feel hurt and betrayed, as long as he doesn't actually kill her who can blame him. Extreme situation, extreme emotions. Makes sense to me.

    I love how so many people missed the thing about Cameron telling the husband he's a terrible person.
    Cameron didn't tell the wife about the fact she was married. She married a guy with terminal cancer cause it was "the right thing to do" in a sense. They were married for about 6 months before he died and caring for him was extremely hard on her for a long period of time.
    This was mentioned in several episodes but I can't remember if it was this one or not.
    In any case, when you care for someone who is terminally ill it gets very hard. Seeing them deteriorate, suffering through their harsh moods and always trying to be supportive without having the option to talk about how "hard " it is on you cause you're not the one that deals with the whole terminally ill part. your life is not the ones on the line. If you complain about it you will be judged by others, and as long as you keep it to yourself everyone keep praising you as the "perfect" spouse. Sometimes you just get tired.
    And just like when mothers experience postpartum depression sometime wish for their kids to not exist, Cameron must have wished more than once that everything will be over with and her husband will just die already so she can move on with her life. Then she ate herself with guilt thinking about how horrible of a thing it is to think.
    When the husband expressed the fact that he reveres his wife to be perfect and this one act may desecrate her memory for him, he tells Cameron that something within him wishes that she was perfect and that the treatment won't work. however he understand that this means he wishes for his wife to die in a sense.
    When he asks her "Does that makes me a terrible person" she is clearly taken back. She reflects the answer on herself.

    • @rohanmanuel1815
      @rohanmanuel1815 Год назад +5

      The thing about this is that none of it would have happened if the wife took accountability and fessed up. What Cameron saw was a result of her own decisions. Good intentions or not, she knew the path that she was bound to walk. She misinterprets that him wanting his wife to be loyal and that the cause of her disease is different to him wanting her to die. Regardless he approved the treatment despite knowing that he would lose his heart in exchange for his wife's life. Then after all that, Cameron went ahead and tried to bring him back with the stance that cheating with his best friend was a mistake that should be forgiven.

      That prop looked really cool, and the glass syringes are actually necessary - kind of. You could use plastic syringes if you work quickly. (I did look it up because I didn't quite believe it.)
      The drug is called Melarsoprol. The thing dissolving plastic in the drug is just propylene glycol, literally the main component of some antifreeze (since the drug is insoluble in water and propylene glycol is nontoxic (side remark: That doesn't mean that all the stuff in all antifreeze is nontoxic, don't drink that!))
      The biohazard symbol is not applicable, unless they would transfer the used glass syringes back in that case. It is clearly just for effect in the show.
