Fab stuff - It's quite a journey by narrow boat- the idea of taking something designed for water you can stand up in and whose sides you can almost always touch with a bargepole onto open water... eeeek!!!!
(the idea of deliberately grounding your boat is somewhat counter intuitive too!)

That was great. I enjoyed your narration; you express your feelings well, don't overtalk, and are able to make it feel like we (your YT audience) are there with you. The music you chose also managed to capture the atmosphere of the occasion really well. So much better than watching Tv. Thank you.

What an exciting, magical adventure! I love your shots of the seals on the sandbank. It seems incongruous that you could watch seals at sea from the deck of a boat designed for the calm waters of the inland waterways. Thank you so much for sharing this.

Lorna, I just know Jo really enjoyed/appreciated your company on the foredeck, especially on that first rather choppy 'North Sea' experience. And great to see all the different viewpoints on the same adventure.
If global warming turns out as bad as some predict, at least it's good to know that generations of seals will be able to swim around and through the 'Stump'.
    All's well that ends well.

That looked like a lot of fun !
If you ever get the chance, go to Horsey beach in the early spring. The shore line is black with seals as far as the eye can see including the recent new pups. You can get within 25 meters of them without disturbing them. It’s 1/2 hour walk from Horsey mill at the edge of Horsey mere in Norfolk. You can hire a small day boat to get there from Martham Boats. Just check with the local seal trust as there’s a few weeks beach closure while they’re giving birth. The trip there across the Norfolk Broads is well worth the visit. I spend 4-5 weeks there over the summer.

Hi, Lorna, that was just such a Magical Mystery Tour. To think you had to go all the way out there just to turn around and head back in, and it took you about 12 hours or more for what was basically a wide long U-Turn. Simply amazing. The trip was a wonderful experience and the generosity of the Wobbly and Perseverance crews in letting you and David partake of their adventure - just blows me away. Such wonderful canal folk you associate with.
The highlights, and there are a few, the rough water heading out, the fun on the sandbar, the seals, the seals, the seals. The crisscrossing of the run into Denver and having to brest up as you all cruised into the final pontoon. Just amazing stuff. Oh, did I mention the amazing seals?
Thank you to all from both boats. The three vlogs just add to what was a wonderful day for all and I don't think you can tell just how jelly I am that I can't be there and do such a journey for myself so I have to have experienced it through your eyes.
Stay Safe and Well dear, and please give an extra scritch to the lovely Monty.

What a great video and a fantastic commentary. Loved it. Living in Norfolk, it is so easy to take the North Sea and 'The Wash' for granted - but it's so good to hear your enthusiasm. It's one of those places you normally pass through on the way to somewhere else. Yet, if your ever this way in your motorhome, The Wash and the Great Ouze is a great place for wildlife and walking. Huge flocks of wading birds whirling across the skies over the sea. There is a Wetlands & Wildfowl Trust place where they feed the migratory swans in Winter, and a Peter Scott Trail along the shore of The Wash.

Looking at this again after two years. I think I'd be pretty nervous making any sea crossing in a narrow boat. It's a bit like letting granny play rugby.
You had two narrowboats. It wasn't obvious two years ago, it is now. Get a couple of 4x4s 10 meters long and lash the two boats together. Now you've got a Catamaranal (?) boat Canal-tamaran? If the lashings held I cross the Channel, go up to Orkney and Skye.
And great the girls and doggies running on the beach. Just like the Bahamas!

    First 😁
That's a big ask on a narrowboat I must say. I'd consider that ocean, it's a big bay really as it's almost 30km across. That could go really bad really fast if you didn't watch the weather and even then a wind change and life would become most unpleasant. A lot of flushing is going to be needed to get that salt water out of nooks and crannies that's for sure.
