Grade 6th on Khan Academy: By the 6th grade, you're becoming a sophisticated mathemagician. You'll be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide any non-negative numbers (including decimals and fractions) that any grumpy ogre throws at you. Mind-blowing ideas like exponents (you saw these briefly in the 5th grade), ratios, percents, negative numbers, and variable expressions will start being in your comfort zone. Most importantly, the algebraic side of mathematics is a whole new kind of fun! And if that is not enough, we are going to continue with our understanding of ideas like the coordinate plane (from 5th grade) and area while beginning to derive meaning from data! (Content was selected for this grade level based on a typical curriculum in the United States.)

Wow, you explained it so well. I think I will use some of your explanations when teach it again. It is indeed a human construct, and it can be explained in everyday non-math language. Thank you.
When he started his intro with "We will now begin our journey.....................", I felt like I'm inside the Roman mythology movie hahaha. Wow that voice Sir really attracts the attention of the students to listen to your discussion, and not boring. Also, after I saw that 6th grade, I realized the importance of Elementary (I just sleep during math class hahaha).
You have a great voice !
I can watch these video's for hours, it's more interesting than you can imagine!

The arithmetic joke on how it's not pure(biblical) but human constructive made my heart laugh. I needed that. I prayed to the math GOD's and they answered with sense of humor. I was hoping for connection in the brain to pass this statistics class but this will do.
i'm taking statistics for the summer and i hate math but statistics looks like so much fun!!!
+jenstar1031 Statistics is easy. You learn it in Algebra 1 and 2. And it is very very useful
Dude! I'm in my first year of college (after being out of school for 20 years) and why can't you be my instructor?!? Seriously! I now understand "6th grade" statistics! lol. Thank you so much KHAN ACADEMY!!
It's for historical reasons I suppose - including poltics. A series on the history of the metric system would be quite instructive though. For instance the the 'gradian' system (which almost no one uses now) divides the circle into 400 parts. That related to the circumference of the Earth in the new-fangled metric units of length (c.1790)
1 'grad' would be 100 km (give or take) therefore
0.01 grad = 1km and
0.00001 grad = 1m.
my kids will love this
Nicely presented, thanks.
Is nobody gonna talk about how this guy is so good at handwriting with a mouse?
He uses a drawing pad
Can we just talk about this guy not knowing the meaning of a stylus
reminded old days - simple and nice
Good timing Sal, just as I start doing stats in class.
you will find that across the us and the world both systems are used you will also find that the use of fractions very often make communication at lot more efficient/ quicker. eg; how much cake is left a, zero point five, b, half (you tell me which is a better method of communicating in this instance). I too used to dismiss this aspect of the usa but now realise that it is often a better system as it keeps the best of the old and takes the best of the new.
Very informative thank you.
Thank you sir ....for uploading this video 😎😎😎😎
This was helpful to me. Thanks for posting it.

Thank you so much sir. I don't have understanding of mathematics but you made it so easier.
I agree in real life we have to deal with tons of data arranging data and organizing that data is very important
Taking this next Spring, need a year to prepare. Thank you.
Nội dung thật ý nghĩa cảm ơn bạn đã chi sẻ
@Mark Dugan regular windows paint with a pad to write on

Or if you want to sound really fancy and posh you can say "arithmetic" in the way it sounds when it's an adjective, but when referring to it as a noun. Like "We shall study... arithmehtic!" Super posh.
tysm my 6th grade math teach didn't explain it well enough!
wow so good i like your teaching
At last, Lt. Commander Data meets Khan. Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!!!!!
Do you have to put the data in order so that you can find the Median of a data set?
I love Data! but Lore is fun, too.
That was a good video
Wow I got everythin except for mode.. ill go more deeper in your videos you guys are awesome! THANKS ALOTT!!

thank you very helpful :)
Thank you!
THANK YOU SO MUCH IM GONNA PASS MY QUIZ NOW ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
It should be said that the arithmetic mean is rather natural: If I imagine the numbers as point particles of identical mass along a line (with some chosen units of length) then the arithmetic mean is the same as the centre of mass.
Great introduction
I like Sal so much, thanks for all your help Khan academy
Please do two way and Block ANOVA PLEASE!!!!
I got my math mocks tmr for my jc hahaha
if two different numbers could repeated be twice for the mode section, how could be i written or its sequence? plz identify.
Thanks a lot!!

Please! sir make vide on how to derive the formula for median grouped data.
