I like how they do close-ups of KITTs monitors when they show something happening on the display so this part can be filmed separately on a mockup screen in the studio.
I closeups of KITT control panel were always shot in the studio the studio version of KITT control panel looks 75% nice the control panel inside the car they looks cheaply thrown together.
@@DJboutit2 They had one, solitary car that had all of the toys. It was perfect and pristine inside and out. That, was the picture car. For general dashboard shots that didn’t require hands, there was a 2x size mock-up made so the cameras didn’t have to have such close focal lengths. There were a lot of cars that had the outward appearance, and a lot of them got damaged in the first few seasons of filming. KITT’s serial number(s) were the first two Firebird Trans Ams off of the production line. The picture car, with all the electronics, cost more than $100,000 to make. Yea, I was a nut for the show, and I actually made my own car. I made my own mold for the dash and all of the fancy console parts, the wheel, and the pod behind it. I also did the electronics. While it didn’t cost me as much as the original, I could see how the first one was so expensive. Those components were very hard to come by in the 80s. We didn’t have internet, and finding the catalogs and suppliers was an exercise. While the “guts” were fairly easy to get at the local electronic supplier, the specialized LEDs were a nightmare. That was, until I had to go through a metal detector at an airport. I noticed that the LED array was what I was looking for, so I made a mental note of the manufacturer. A call to the manufacturer got me the name of the supplier. Hewlett-Packard. Circuitry design was impossible ti get schematics, so I had to compose my own. The supply house in town would let me pore through their books for specific chips when I would visit. Since I was already working on the “new” electronic cash registers, I already had a lot of the skills to make my own. Ahh, the late 80s….
Michael: "She is not your type!" She is not "Siri"! Now that is a voice! On the Big Bang Theory, they had an episode what Siri might look like. Pretty lady.

Becky: Well, maybe... but not as nice. Is he here? Michael: He sure is. Hey, KITT. Somebody wants to talk to you. KITT: Becky? Can you hear me? Michael: Here you go, honey. KITT: It's... Black Beauty. Becky: Shh... That's our secret. KITT: It's good to hear your voice. How are you feeling? Becky: Well... I get a little spinny. KITT: You just rest and get better so you can come riding with us again. Becky: All right... Devon: Michael, may I have a word, please? Michael: Yeah. I'll be back, honey. Becky: Okay. Aunt April, how come you're wearing those clothes?
What would be cool, is if they could do a movie where the Six Million Dollar Man is made to have taken place in the 80s; and his bionics were Knight Industries based, so they could do a joint venture between Kight Rider and the Six Million Dollar Man.
When I was a kid I thought this was the coolest thing. Two computers talking to each other via voice. Amazing!
Still is.

Michael saw Devon, April, and KITT as family. Wow.
What is so amazing about that?
@@lookingforahookup After everything that happened to him, he adopted these people, and a car, as family.

Prophetic.
To think this show had an AI built into a car is beyond its time. Impressive!
Very true
Sounds a bunch like V'Gers Scout in ST:TMP
