The problem for celebs is Ricky is telling the truth, and they can not rebuff him easily because they know it is true and they have a fear he could come back at them even fiercer. He is a fantastic comedian who prepares and does his homework and research to ensure his stance is savage, but cannot be called into question. He is a icon in the face of fake Hollywood. Love him ❤

I'm American and I feel like I have a lot in common with the British sense of humor. I too am sarcastic, and have a dark sense of humor which other people constantly try to tell me is "inappropriate" here in my country.

Interesting story: Pro wrestler Chris Jericho wrote in one of his books that he went to an awards show and every celebrity ignored him except Ricky Gervais. Gervais was the only one who was nice to him and went out of his way to chat.
Another good British comedian to react to is Jimmy Carr. Carr is the master of quick one-liners and it's actually pretty impressive how many jokes he can rattle off in such a short amount of time.
Another British Comedian did hold the World Record for unscripted jokes in ONE HOUR....499 YES 499 and all of them were clean "Dad" jokes. lol

How can you compare banter to bullying? We don’t have an anxiety situation. The real problem is that everyone is now talking about it and teaching primary school kids about it. There are generations of humans who had/have anxiety and we where taught to get on with your day. It was understood that it was there but we weren’t turned into victims because of it.
I have it every day of my life even driving to work but but you have to get on with life and stop talking about it. The more you think of it the more it’s apparent.
Going back there was never a suicide pandemic but people still had anxiety. Acknowledge it and deal with it. Same with racism. The more people speak about it the more it’s current and the more people see colour instead of the content of character for that person.
Now days you lot are too privileged, always want to be a victim and receive sympathy consistently, believe everything is about you. You have the better options, your opinion is the right one, the world should revolve around you. Using your “mental health” as an excuse to get out of soo much, take no responsibility

We say things which outwardly sound quite shocking if you just happened to casually overhear, it's our humour. I heard a white Brit greet his Muslim friend on a Monday morning, ' how was your weekend in Guantanamo'? They both laughed and they are great friends. It is precisely the outrageous nature of the comment that makes it funny. The Muslim friend is also very capable of standing his ground also, these two guys love each other and understand how ridiculous the world is these days. Their friendship, spattered with humour, is the opposite of racism. They just laugh at the world.

Ricky Gervais is by far the best comedian in the world. He does what comedy is supposed to do. Break down controversial subjects and laugh at it. He is genius.
There's a compilation of all of his Golden Globe hosting moments. It's a bit long, 40 something minutes, but it's worth every single one, I promise. I have it in my favorites 😂
I pretty much grew up on British humor and Ricky is just peak British when it comes to that. I'm always surprised how offended US celebrities get with his jokes. Meanwhile I'm just here laughing. Also do you notice how British celebrities either laugh or fire back something on the same level? It's just their way and I love it.

It's precisely because people are so sensitive about 'truth' that makes it so funny. It's also about brilliant timing. None of these so called superstars can match his wit, he is so much smarter and can laugh at himself. This is just fairly classic British humour at its best. The brightest in the room are laughing with him. Why not at an awards ceremony?

I think Ricky is grounded he gets why the public get irritated with some of the rich and famous and more so the world's acting community because they are immensely hypocritical and down right condescending at times to the public when the public is more aware of issues and how to tackle them than the ultrarich who live such a lifestyle that they barely come into contact with the real people who exist in the real world.
As a fellow Brit and fan of his, I commend the man for putting these people in place they need to be roasted to remind them we see the flaws in them, and he is only telling them what they do not wish to hear on behalf of the public. I also think that Tom Hanks is clearly not someone who can take a joke or having the proverbial taken out of him he was not funny at all when he and Allen came on it was not a comeback it was a thinly covered attack on Ricky for pointing that out and also digging Tom over being in Toy Story and being the main draw when the likes of Allen and other cast members really have never got any kind of decent recognition for the roles they played in all four of going on five films,
Ricky is offensive, but it's only offensive because he's able to take cracks at people and tell them what they really do not want to hear but at the same time makes a lot of people laugh, and he's damn fantastic at it.

Just a quick comment in defense of Gordon Ramsey........he only yells during the "Hell's Kitchen" show.....and they know he's going to do it !!!.......watch some of his other shows and you will see him as his true self......a sweet family guy actually. When he does the Master Chef Junior show, he's very nice and sweet and helpful to the kids. You guys honestly have the wrong impression about him !!
