I love Ricky, but I think this is one of his weakest bits for the following reason: He is putting all fat people into one box - lazy people who eat too much - and that's the issue. Not every fat person is fat by choice. There are a lot of people with genetic defects, i.e. slow metabolism, either by birth/genetics or caused by a disease later in life. The fact that Ricky is consciously ignoring that (probably because it collides with his punchline) is a weak point in his argument. Saying every fat person is responsible for their own obesity is like claiming every child who doesn't do great in school is also lazy and stupid or people dying from cancer shouldn't have smoken cigarettes or drunk alcohol. Oversimplifying issues isn't good comedy!
I think the structure of the bit is good, but yeah, the premise just cannot be in good faith, like, what about kids that were raised on a terrible diet, or people that are too poor to afford healthy food.
