"he's not my boyfriend"
literally half hour to an hour later: "I truly, deeply, love you".
Denial is not just a river in egypt
Probably why they removed the scene lol
Well it was definitely more than an hour. Realistically more like weeks later. Lol.
Reminded of clone wars when Anakin said to Obi-Wan "Go find your girlfriend", and Obi-Wan replying "Right, no, Anakin, she not my...", both reffering to Satine.
If you follow your thoughts through to conclusion, they will take us to a place we cannot go!
He looked so sad when Padme temporarily friend-zoned him
I would be too😢
so true
I mean he did just kill a village full of sand people.
@@ashanarchy7255😂
@@ashanarchy7255 No, this was before that.
The very concept of Padme having a family back on Naboo absolutely never occurred to me
Of course not, just the idea of it is absolutely stupid beyond belief. Why would she be a queen then if her father and mother are still alive? I love it when people said that Obi Wan was badly written, while being badly written was a proud trademark of Star Wars since day one.
@@juricadogan3870 --Maybe her dad had me too issues. It was speculated that the current King Charles III of England might pass the crown on to his son because of his divorce and other issues.
Read the Darth Plagueis novel…even though technically it’s no longer canon….
Palpatine convinces her parents for her to run against the King
@@juricadogan3870 because kings/queens are elected on naboo
@@thebellbrothers3279 That's right. Being king and/or queen of Naboo is similar to how someone is elected for being president or prime minister in the political sense.
Padme's sister sensed the feelings the Jedi could not.
I think it's bc the jedi do not know how love looks like bc they abstain from it so much, aside from kenobi
Obi-Wan picked up on it the moment Anakin started talked about how much he missed laying eyes on her in the beginning of the movie. That's why he was able to put 2 and 2 together when he saw that Padme was starting to show her pregnancy on ROTS. You really think someone like Obi-Wan couldn't notice something that obvious when he was in a similar situation with Satine? lol
@@decepticonxhunter4850in the clone wars obi wan actually has a talk with Anakin about his feelings for Padme where he kinda tells him it’s okay for Anakin to like Padme but not okay to interfere with her “relationship” with Clovis.
It’s pretty clear obi wan knew Anakin was in love with Padme but I’m not sure he realized she loved him back or that they had a secret marriage. At least not until rots when she suddenly had a mystery baby.
Put her on the council!
@@vicboi8109 Didn’t Kit Fisto and Aayla Secura have a romantic relationship?
0:28 Anakin seems really happy when he has to deal with kids that aren't jedi younglings
Or Tusken raiders
😂😂😂
i was just like "damn thats the i wanna kill younglings craving smile" when i saw it lmao
Actually, Anakin seems like he was very good with kids before he went nuts. He seemed actually exited to be a father and wanted to save his own kids by saving Padme. Combined with his own crappy childhood, you'd think he'd be great with children. The fact that he killed a bunch of people either because he though he had to or because of a primal need for revenge is because the Dark Side drove him nuts and removed his inhibitions. He's like a really nice guy with a severe drug addiction.
@@tinobemellowYeah pretty much. People with messed up childhoods usually have perturbed relations with adults when they grow up, but tend to be great with children
I love these scenes, despite the strange dialog in some places. These scenes make Episode 3 even more heartbreaking knowing the connection Anakin had to Padme's family.
Remember, the director didn't want to share drama about padadame family members. It would take away from the action of entire movie
Awkward dialogue in Attack of the Clones? I don't know if the world is ready for that.
The WHOLE movie was strange dialogue !!
Where is the dialogue weird
@@alexkoronec4326clearly George is an amazing creative mind that has made a lot of bad scrapping calls as far as the prequel trilogy is concerned. The Dooku fight, the Padme scenes and nerfing grievous for lack of overshadowing young Vader
Many deleted scenes weren't necessary, but I think that introcuding Padme's family to the story would have been an interesting element to explore to this narrative.
It also lets you know who those people were at padme's funeral.
@@jaernihiltheus7817 Exactly. I greatly suspect some studio meddling involved in. Otherwise, why George Lucas would've put Padme's family in the Padme Funeral scene on ROTS, if he was the one who willfully removed them in the previous episode?
I think they were just trying to condense the length they even said that in interviews, so this is still canon technically just couldn’t fit it in
He would've been spoiled rotten by her mother. Only girls and finally a male would've been Christmas for her.😊
@@devinreis5811What? "Only girls and finally a male?" Seems like she loves her daughters and husband just fine.
When a girl takes you to her place to meet her parents, you're her boyfriend, even in a galaxy far, far away. I think adding some of these deleted scenes which show Anakin's feelings being hurt, would give more explanation as to reasons for his downfall and his slight distrust of Padme who expressed her "love" for him only when their lives were in danger.
yeah pretty much is that
Playing devil’s advocate, he was her head of security after all… And they had barely just kissed, she was still conflicted even if subconsciously leaning towards having feelings. Women are fascinating when in early stages of relationship .. 😂😂
Kind of strange though IMO since she's a Queen.
@@Novaximusshe's a senator 🙄
@@growtocycle6992 she wasn't a senator until the 2nd movie. But who cares. That's not the point. They're making her out to be a child living at home when she is/WAS a Queen.
I like when Padmè’s younger relatives run out, and Anakin smiles as they start playing around R2-D2. Gives off strong Godfather vibes, when Michael visits the old country in Sicily. It’s one of the reasons Attack of the Clones is my favourite Star Wars movie.
George Lucas worked very closely with the director of that series, Francis Ford Coppola often. Order 66 was inspired by the baptism scene.
Naboo does have some striking similarities to Tuscany, come to think of it
@@Tempusverum much of it is filmed at lake Como
@@shanekeenaNYCholy shit I never made that connection! That's tragic and cool at the same time.
Those are Padmé neices from her sister, Sola. She later tells Anakin my neices are great I want a family of my own someday.
I agree. This should have been kept in the movie. And Anakin's talk with Padme's father. I would have loved to see it.
I wish that there was an after story (after ROTJ) in canon or legends in which Luke and Leia visit Naboo and find Padme’s parents, her sister, and nieces are still living. It would really surprising yet at the same time heartwarming for Padme’s parents to meet her twin grandchildren.
Meeting Luke and Leia may also bring them some closure after the loss of Padme, since they would see a lot of her in the both of them. I imagine them meeting at a house by the lake, which would be symbolic since Padme had originally wanted to raise Luke and Leia by the lake, sort of like things coming full circle.
@@jmwilliamsart there is a short story like interview in the legends book Jedi v. Sith An Essential Guide to the Force, where Leia tells Pooja one of the young cousins that they are related. I do wish they would do something like this in canon. Also really wish Lucasfilm would re edit this scene back into the movie.
@@Brandon-yy5cc I imagine it this way: Mon Mothma will be nostalgic about his friends and associates. About how generations change, and she needs to retire. Therefore, the trio of planets are together again: Chandrilla, Aldearan and... Naboo. A new senator from Nabu will appear in the Senate. Senator Naberrie. And in the eyes of Mon Mothma, Bail Organa will appear again in the form of his daughter. And Padme Amidala in the form of her niece. Mon Mothma will look at the two girls and decide that in fact they both look like Padme.
The thing is Leia actually doesn't look like Padme. They practically have little to nothing in common. Padme is more more beautiful. Leia is a bit ugly.
no, those scenes are absolutely useless for the plot. Introducing new characters require a good reason, there is none here
You can feel how much Anakin craved to be a part of a family unit like this; something he'd never had since being separated from his mother when young.
Her mother would've spoiled him absolutely rotten.
I think these scenes actually do something for the movie in that they show that there was some genuine affection between them.
I hope that Padme’s parents, her sister Nola, and nieces were alive after the events of ROTJ episode VI. It would be nice to see them finally meet Padme’s twin children Luke and Leia who they had believed had perished along with her. It would also give Padme’s parents (family) some closure to get to know their grandchildren. They could tell Luke and Leia about their mother Padme since they never got to know her.
In Legends, Pooja, the younger niece, would go on to become the Senator for Naboo in 6 BBY, succeeding Senator Binks. She became good friends with Senator Leia Organa but would be unaware they were first cousins until 36 years after the Senate was dissolved
@@alexcamacho1842 That’s interesting, still it would’ve been nice for them to meet Padme’s parents, and their aunt.

Keeping this scene would have made her funeral scene that much more meaningful. Without this scene, the average moviegoer doesn't know the faces that lead the funeral procession in Ep 3 are her parents. Parents having to bury their child is a gut punch no matter what universe we're in and would have made that scene, as devastating as it is, even more overwhelming.
Agreed, it would have added some valuable depth to the ending of episode 3.
Padme in Attack of the Clones is peak human beauty
Her face could be slashed and she could look like Kuchisake-Onna, but she would still be seen as attractive because of who she is.

@@devinreis5811 it sure would
@@Amber_Freeman_Unmasked1406 That would be humiliation enough for him.
Nice. It's also funny how normal people can see right through Anakin and what he truly feels regarding Padme. But the Jedi Order, it's fantastic and powerful Masters, were oblivious about it. Only one that knew was Obi-Wan and he was a bro about it. You can attribute this to how secluded, separate the Jedi truly are from regular people. They've been taken away from their families when they were little and raised to be Jedi. They've not known anything else. Anakin was different and they had to bend the rules to accept an "old" child for training, all due to Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan's stubbornness.
I agree they should’ve kept this and anakin’s talk with padme’s father in
I like that Anakin is very forthright, that he doesn’t bullshit anyone. He just tells her father the truth of the danger Padme faces.
So does that mean Padme’s dad likes Anakin or no?
@@hassanmasood186 he seemed to like him
@@mc-maitrixgaming4330 At least he gives it to her father straight unlike most of Padme’s political acquaintances.
"Anakin is just a friend".
You see on her face there is more than that.
0:51 is painful
Cause, let’s face it, Anakin Skywalker never had a family home 🏡 like Padme
Just see his expression
Yea his expression says it all
They still cut the part where Dad gives her grief for dressing like that and tells her to go put on some clothes and then asks Anakin what his intentions are and then gives him grief about wasting his life as a monk and that he needs to get a real job if he wants to date his daughter. She’s all Mom, Dad’s embarrassing me and Mom asks her if they’re being “safe”.

I felt like if this was in the movie then people would've complained that it didn't fit Star Wars so nothing really could've helped Attack of the Clones as it was good enough to me (imo). Though i would love if they did this sort of scene in The Clone Wars so Anakin and Padme feel more connected than ever.
I think Attack of the Clones could have easily been fixed to great satisfaction. In just a few simple steps!
1) Lawrence Kasdan writes the scripts from George Lucas's drafts and outlines.
2) More restrained use of greenscreens with more of the sets physically built.
3) Anakin is 16 years old in episode 1, and so is Obi Wan Kenobi.
4) Hiring talented directors from outside LucasFilm, George Lucas acting as producer.
Disney almost pulled it off, but it seems their mistake was thinking anyone besides Lucas could determine the overall direction of the saga, and again not hiring Kasdan to write the actual screenplays, because the man seems to have an almost mystical ability to translate what George Lucas imagines in his head into a script that actually works the way he intended.
Can't believe they cut all these scenes with Anakin visiting her home and family, they were all so good.
The instant sadness on Anakin's face when Padme says "he's not my boyfriend" tho
*We both know what happened later that night.*
R-2 playing with the two kids is the cutest thing on two legs. Or 3 occasionally
They're like, "We don't even care that finally a male is in our house, we only care about the robot."
I love this scene, can we all just take a second to admire how cute R2 is with kids
i’d love to know what R2 was saying though cause he is notorious for being a bit of a savage
I think George Lucas deleted the same cuz this would have raised questions between fans like why wasn't Luke and Leia brought padme's parents to be raised and brought up. And I think that's the reason why this scene was deleted.
True, but given that Palpatine is from Naboo I would imagine putting the twins there could also have been considered too risky. A couple of lines of dialog could have been added to the scene in Ep3 with Yoda, Obi Wan and Organa to that effect to rule it out.
“He’s a friend, we’ve known eachother for years” bro nearly turned to the dark side 💀💀
That's what makes the relationship kinda creepy.
Padme " Anakin this is my sister Sola "
Anakin " DAMN YOU FINE !!!!"
Padme " WHAT!?!?!"
The most beautiful romance in the entire Galaxy. They should kept that scene. Or may be with the new series put again roll out to the screen. And of course here's 2:01 and 2:27 when She (Padmé) is discovered that they really like Anakin.
0:25 Anakin: Ahhh!! Kids.... Younglings!
They should have kept this in the movie instead of the "room for non-sexual matters"
A shame that it hadn't been revealed later on what happened to Padme's family later on in the other Star Wars movies after this one, and even in the Luke Skywalker trilogy..
It’s moments like these :29 that make it so hard to imagine someone who goes from giving a smile of warmth to children to becoming someone who would go on to kill hundreds of innocent people including children.
It really isn't. Terrorists have children who they love dearly yet would bomb other children. Anakin was almost completely suppressed by Vader during Order 66, he was fully shunned after Padme died and only reappeared after Luke's existence was confirmed.
0:05 sounds like John Williams forgot which movie he was composing for for a second 😂

Yeah, it's Hedwig's theme! :) actually he composed in the same time (approx ) those two soundtracks!
Padme: "Our relationship is strictly professional."
Padme's sister's thoughts: You can lie to yourself all you want, but you can't lie to me.
They talk about his feelings for her, but never mention hers for him, even though i can see they see right through her facade.
0:28 Anakin gives that smile to the children💀
I really hope they do make an Extended Edition in the future!
Crazy how these young kids are Luke and Leias cousins and the adults are their Aunt and Grandparents
He looks so happy to see the kids and Padmes family. That makes me smile but also sad. He would have been a great father for Luke and Lea, if everything would have stayed like that.
I felt that 1:23 😢
thank god they cut it icl its so awkward that it is funny

The double music is tearing my eardrum apart you demon
Imagine getting to play in one scene of a Star Wars movie only to find out it was deleted
thank you for uploading that
I always wanted this scene in, it gives more background information to Padme and her family
At 0:35 Anakin is thinking, "I'll check you younglings later, okay?"
"He's not my boyfriend"....that's gotta hurt!
They kept this scene in the novel and even went into more detail. Honestly, the books really fill in important gaps.
These scenes are actually so good. They slow down the action a bit and let you breathe and take in the atmosphere, and understand Padme's relationship with her family and her homeworld. It makes the world of Star Wars feel a bit more alive, and makes you feel like you're actually there. Such slow-paced, dialogue-driven worldbuilding is the reason why I like Star Trek.
It's a shame this stuff was cut to appeal to the people who prefer action over worldbuilding, but Attack of the Clones is already the longest Star Wars movie, so it's understandable.
Upload the scene with Padme and Anakin in her bedroom… That was such a heartbreaking clip, when she was telling him about the alien refugee children that she couldn’t save.
Waaaat 😯
"Anakin, I'd like you to meet these younglings."
"Damn. I left my lightsaber back on the ship..."

He didn't even care that the girls didn't shake his hands. They were just enthralled by his presence, and R2.

This scene definitely should’ve been kept in
It is a pity that Padme's family was never present in the Originals (or were they and I missed that?) That is so cool how the sister can feel there is something between the two
Why you staring at your beautiful bodyguard like that?
Padme family: modestly dressed
Good ol’ George : Remember, no panties in space.
The tragic thing is that the dialog in these deleted scenes were actually pretty good, not not super cringy like most of the Padme-Anakin dialog.
I agree with you this should stay in the film
Damn, the decorations look so beautiful. It's a wonderful scene, i wish they kept it.
The little children are so thrilled to see a small droid they can play with.
"A sister!?! Obi Wan was wise to hide her from me..."
That evening. After a few wines in Piazza Carusso, Padme took Anakin home 😉
I agree it would have been good to see
Anakin at 0:28 be like: "resist the temptation, act normally"
It feels like a sitcom, you just can't show a place that looks like a New York appartment in a Star Wars movie.
She is a queen that lives with her mother.
despite the acting and dialogue being so freaking bad, this scene definitely makes her situation more real and the story of her (and even of her and anakin) would have had
a better flow if they left this in
The problem Anakin needed to learn was how to love people in general in a non obsessive and possissive way had Qui Gon lived I am sure he would of showed Anakin how to form healthy relationships without getting overtly attached to the point of paranoia and lacking sleep yeah.
Damm, really hoped Padme would say: Welcome to my crib 🗣🗣🔥🔥
Imagine being eight years old (I may be wrong, but that's my estimate for the age of at least one of the kids playing Padmé's nieces), and finding out you're going to be in a Star Wars movie. Your job is to hug somebody famous, and then play with R2-D2! Those little girls must have been so excited.
This would have given her something to live for, so it might have complicated the whole "I don't care about living anymore, because the only one I loved is dead" thing
I love that light blue outfit Padme is wearing.
Such a wonderful scene I wish it would have been in the film the music at the beginning reminds me of potter music
I feel like this adds more depth to Padmé as a character, I wish this wasn't a deleted scene
1:22 the one line that no guy ever wants to hear. Ouch!
A scene that makes sense in the viewer’s eyes, but not from a director’s perspective.

They should have kept this in! I agree, it adds so much value!
They should have changed the word "Boyfriend". It makes it sound too Earthy, instead of a Galaxy far, far away. They should have said "Suitor" or something to distance from mainstream Earth.
Also very interesting how Padme was initially the elected Queen, so lived in a palace (or something). Now she's back home with her family, adorable.
I feel bad for the actors.

nothing like showing a little midriff when having dinner.
There are SO many scenes George should’ve left in the cut, including this one. Seeing people actually eat in Star Wars is refreshing since they always seem like they never have to sustain themselves.
Hanging out with a celebrate teenage monk in that outfit is pretty brutal.
Wow. I never saw this. Would have love to have it in the movie. Besides from what he says in the video, this scen would have added a big contrast to the scenes we usually have in Star Wars were it always is hostile and cinflict. Peace and happiness.
I’m amazed they even bothered to film these scenes. BOOOORRRING.
