Hey DIYSpanner. Thank you so much for your video. You saved me several hundred dollars.
My car had the same issues. After seeing your video I went to my car and looked at the floor of the driver seat and found pieces of the green rubber. Fixed it with a screw! Fantastic. Cheapest fix ever!! 🎉

Thanks for posting this. A really simple fix to a seemingly major problem. How could a missing grommet cause such a fuss. I tested by preloading the accelerator by approximately the size of the grommet. It started and revved fine. Then I released the pedal back to the metal without the grommet and it no longer revved.

My problem is that the car starts fine but while im driving it starts losing power and soon after check engine light comes on. At that point the car goes limp mode but doesnt cut off immediately. I still get a few minutes to pull aside. I changed a number of sensors related to issue (knock, throttle body and the pedL position sensor). The problem only goes away for a few miles. Comes back as if nothing changed. My mechanic did change the pedal sensor but I dont think that green thing was present. Ill check myself and try the repair. I really hopes this works. Thanks

Good day, I have a 2005 X-trail, the fault at first was the acceleration pedal sensor (APP), it changed and now if I turn on the truck when accelerating to more than 1500rpm the car turns off, what could be the failure? Before changing the pedal sensor it started and it did not accelerate to more than 1500rpm but it did not turn off, it only advanced very slowly

If check engine is on, have it scan to retrieve the error code.

1. check your engine horses for any vacuum leaks.
2. inspect the fuel system, ie fuel filter, fuel pump
3. inspect the air control system I.e air cleaner.

Greetings bros. Love your video.. pls I have nissan xtrail 2005 though changed the engine and the reviving goes up and down refuses idle... Then my mec worked on the throttle head and the reviving was ok, but sometimes while driving it will just refused to accelerate then if I put of the engine and turn it on the reviving comes back on but it stays if no traffic but there is, it goes back to not accelerating it limps... So what do I do...? I got it scanned today but the scanner couldn't detect the engine, so is to manually trace the fault.. please how do I fix this have spent so much... Thank you
