The annoying thing about these reviews is that they criticise things that are actually good. The best thing about this compared to the equivalent Merc or Audi is the hard top roof. Why would anyone prefer a soft top roof?! I bought this car because it’s a saloon when when you want it to be and it transforms into a fun convertible. I hate soft top roofs and would prefer to buy a normal saloon over them as it’s horrible when the weather is wet and cold and they’re noisy and uncomfortable when the roof is up.
He never said it’s bad. He even said at the start how it looks better. He just asked at h to r end if it would be better with a traditional roof because of the boot space (also it was a perfect Segway to his related videos)

Most seem to include rear seats for when someone simply must be transported, and they'll have to put up with the inconvenience. My take on usable 4 seat convertibles: Merc E class (2011-), Audi A4/S4/A5/S5, the departed Volvo C70, and the BMW 4-series actually isn't that bad compared to most. Oh, and the Murano/Evoque SUV convertibles, if that's what you're into I won't judge.

Why do BMW insist on this horrible rounded redesign. Horrible. The concept 4 series looked stunning, but it was ruined in the wind tunnel.

Is the speaker's sound quality (in the cabin) as good despite the fact that it isn't such a closed space, because it has a removable roof? I mean, does the sound "leak" out the car because of the cabin's materials employed for the convertible factor? Pretty sexy car, though.

Sorry, but hard steel roof is much better! I hate visible bird s.... marks on soft tops - looks terrible, more noise, less safety.... And it's a great fun to drive with a roof down! I like convertibles 😎👍
They are reallllly good! It blocks all the noice and it's good that a lot of people don't know that it's a convertible when the roof isn't lowered. My dad is giving me this car when I'm 18, he uses it now as his third vehicle and is completely in love with it!

BMW has way to much cabrio cars. I mean, how many people want to spend all that mony on an impractical car that onloy has use on the 10 days a year when it is hot and sunny. also, I don't understand why they not make the sat nav as standard, as the screen and the i-drive is already there. I guess an easy way to rip people of? And finally a bit of a betrayel to make that M logo now stand form some wolfclothes accessary, while without the 3 liter straight 6, this car really is a sheep. Other than that this car does have strong points: interior is nice, the metallic roof is a must in this class and the car does look good. Just a shame BMW has become such a lifestyle brand. Now they are so common, I'm afraid they are getting this close to being boring.
You don't know what you are talking about. I own a 435i Xdrive convertible. It's got a super fast 6 cylinder turbo engine and a leather interior which anything but cheap!

Hard top means no boot space plus extra weight, plus extra money in an accident, soft top is better

I agree. Once folding metal roof convertibles came out it made all other convertible look so dated.

We can't confirm that but we certainly wouldn't be surprised! It's a great engine and it makes the 4 Series very cheap to run.
Carbuyer it's a bit noisy though isn't it? I haven't driven a 20d for a while though, maybe it's a little better now.
