    So what about the other side? Do you still need to flip this shirt over and repeat the process, or does the dye penetrate to the back?

      If the back of the shirt has to be turned over or does it go throw to the other side?

      It will as long as it's wet enough and the fabric isn't super thick. Just use enough dye, you can always flip it over when done on the first side and check to see if it has any areas needing additional brushing.

    for dipping clothes never did it before how much salt do you need i want to do more then 1 color . I just want to learn no things if they look ugly they go in the bin to clean of the station i use then toss out.

    After applying dye you said to hang it to until extra dyes going down so need to put polythene cover like we r covering tie n dye method.

      Not if you use procion mx dye. The tie dye kit they are using is procion cold water dye and it works on natural fibers. Silk, rayon, cotton....there are dyes for all fabrics though! Just read the packaging before you buy!

      I believe there's a product called Jacquard acid dyes that you can use on synthetic fabrics?
