Wolffish are some of my favorite species of ocean fish in the world. I have had the pleasure of meeting an Atlantic wolfish and they are huge and scary but, I find them beautiful. Even if most find them to be an ugly fish. They are really intelligent and are actually monogamous which is a strange choice for a fish. They remember biologist who visit them too. The Atlantic Wolffish eats crabs and lobster and they are really fatty with sweet meat but, you can't hunt them anymore, at least in the Eastern US, as they are protected because a lot of people hated them in the past and would just kill them.
It is really amazing that you were able to find one and I loved learning!

you know, I used to think Japanese people were wild for just trying to eat anything from the ocean
but now that I see the passion this man has for it, I'm totally in favor of it
If you don't have proper hygiene standards and techniques to keep fresh, you can't eat like in Japan.
The reason why other countries can't eat it raw is because they don't have the skill and hygiene standards.
Even Japanese people don't have the courage to eat raw fish from developing countries like South east asian restaurant or indian restaurant or chinese restaurant.

Masaru, I miss watching you cleaning the bloody part using the green Sasara brush without blurring it. I know you have to do it or else this will be demonitized. Cleaning with the Sasara brush looks so satisfying.
This is why RUclips is garbage.
I think it may still be in the older videos,but I noticed that too :(
It's strange because I get ads that have blood in them. Why do they demonitize videos if advertisers are literally showing blood in ads?
I want one of those green brushes so bad it looks like long blades of grass tied together its a very Japanese item
I think the blurring almost makes it look worse 😅 I feel like if someone walked in while I was watching this I would have be yell "It's fish guts I swear!!" 😅

This is nothing like catfish and catfish aren't that ugly. In Texas we eat them all the time. Totally different animal between sea and freshwater.

I am English and love these videos, even though I dont even like seafood! You probably wont read this but I love your videos masaru! ビデオをありがとう！
_"I guess the oil is ready".... "That should be enough". "I wonder how I should cut it?"_ I like how this guy is relaxed about his cooking and not so technically perfect all the time. That's kinda uncharacteristic for the Japanese who usually are precise in everything they do. lol I love the *enthusiasm* that they bring to everything they do.
But Sashimi? You aren't going to eat that nasty thing RAW, are you? ;-)

何年か前にオオカミウオを弟が捌いてくれた時は家中凄い臭いが充満して驚いたのと、コラーゲンみたいにすごくぷるっぷるな食感だった記憶なんだが調理方法の違いなのかそれとも個体差だったのかなぁ。。マサルさんの北海道編もいつか期待してます！

Excellent. I used to work w/ a sashimi cutter from Japan. man was that guy strict. But we had the best seafood, and best sashimi in particular.

After eating seafood my entire life I developed anaphylaxis to seafood in 2018. Now all I can do is watch videos like these of people enjoying all kinds of seafoods. I look forward to seeing more videos 😄

I knew the sashimi would be bad because of the cut masaru did on 8:13. I bet he tried eating a slice right there and it tasted bad but he still needs to make a video of it, that's why he sliced it thinly for sashimi 😂
That's exactly what i thought! As soon as you hear him say this looks tasty you know he's gonna start trying to eat it regardless of eating it raw 😂
