- In part 1 of this two part series on the Miles Davis classic ALL BLUES, I'll be discussing soloing strategies specifically for the I and IV chords (G7 and C7). Topics include Blues, The Mixolydian Mode and the inherent pentatonic scales that can be superimposed. I'll also give you some tips on playing the head.

His tone reminds me of Albert Collin’s tone. Cool
My first reaction (30 sec in) was an eyes roll and “another minor pentatonic crap” but I stuck with the video and hats down to you Chris. Thank you for this.
It’s always a combination of the old stuff and the new stuff!
Great lesson and explanation!!
Thanks! Make sure to check out part 2!
Brilliant lesson and playing.
Make sure you check part 2 for the D7 and Eb7 chords.
Man....your playing is VERY tasty and your sound is excellent! 💚

thanks!! that's what I get for doing the video at 1:00 AM. Fixed it
Blues is not hard but Jazz will take you to much higher level. People idolize someone like John Bonamassa who is a great blues guitarist but what he does is not hard nor melodic. Playing Jazz is what separates the men from the boys.
You really need to have the basics down for Jazz (scales and arpeggios)
