Sonic Alchemy 1 - Germanium Fuzz
I’m excited to introduce something new called Sonic Alchemy. In this series, I’ll be showcasing iconic guitar pedals that have made history, and I’ll teach you how to use them effectively. In the first episode, we’ll explore the basics of pedal order in your signal chain and dive into the world of Germanium Fuzz. You’ll learn how a simple tweak of your guitar's volume can bring this pedal to life. I’ll also be sharing my two favorite germanium fuzz pedals: the analog.man Sun Face and BMF Effects' Ge Spot. If you like the text that includes historic information and details about the effects, please go to Patreon and download the PDF (I'll be adding chapters as I add each video): patreon.co...

@@paulstebner6492 I’d say I like both the ones in the video a lot. That being said, you can’t get the analog man one with the NKT 275 transistor anymore directly from the manufacturer (I would assume there aren’t any NKT 275s around anymore). You can find them online but they’re thousands of dollars. The green BMF one in the video is reasonably priced so I would definitely suggest that one. To me it sounds as good as the Sun Face.

Such as when you would use a 7b9 chord, say for diminished at the 7th degree of a diatonic major scale etc...or when you can sneak it in there for added colour and tension say at the 2nd degree by swapping the dorian chord (m7/m6)for this more advanced sound...something like that would be very interesting to me, and other such complex chords that can be used over other scale degrees :)
