nice
very fuzzy
Killer! Great playing as always. I'm obsessed with Ge fuzzes right now. Which is your favorite?
@@paulstebner6492 I’d say I like both the ones in the video a lot. That being said, you can’t get the analog man one with the NKT 275 transistor anymore directly from the manufacturer (I would assume there aren’t any NKT 275s around anymore). You can find them online but they’re thousands of dollars. The green BMF one in the video is reasonably priced so I would definitely suggest that one. To me it sounds as good as the Sun Face.
Stretchy
What strings gauges are used on the guitar? Thank you

@@chrisjuergensen thank you for your lectures and it’s please to watch such a practical and interesting classes. Sound of your guitar is specific and motivate me to try to get it from my tele. Keeps doing what you are doing and looking forward to seeing more of your interesting videos.
@@dusanignjatovic9312 my pleasure. I’ll keep doing them if people keep watching them
These sounds amazing. Have been working on spread triads; this is another dimension (or 2 or 3) of those tones.
Fantastic clues to improvise Merci Beaucoup !
Fantastic rundown, best lesson I've seen on 2nd doms, thank you so much!!!
Thank you Chris. Good workout. Glad I had coffee!
Well I rather liked that opening tune...sounded like something Santana might have done in the early/mid 70's.
thanks. I'm thinking about making a video on how I'll take this song and get some musicians to record on it.
#killer lesson, def gonna start in on some of these, those chords are lush :)
Let me know if there are any other chords you'd like me to talk about!
@@chrisjuergensen I always wanted you to talk about substitution and superimposition. Such as when you would use a 7b9 chord, say for diminished at the 7th degree of a diatonic major scale etc...or when you can sneak it in there for added colour and tension say at the 2nd degree by swapping the dorian chord (m7/m6)for this more advanced sound...something like that would be very interesting to me, and other such complex chords that can be used over other scale degrees :)
@@JesseLacharite I have a composition lesson coming that deals with that pretty much. Stay tuned..
pretty fab video right here.
Great video, thanks!
Thanks for putting out these helpful tidbits
thanks for your comment. Check out all the Harmonic Snack lessons.
@@chrisjuergensen I definitely plan to. And by the way I got your blues CD 'Big Bad Sun' that you produced many moons ago. Do you plan on doing another musical work?
@@peterblau6754 That's great thanks for listening. I've been releasing songs one by one lately. CDs aren't really a thing anymore as you know. I recently recorded with Ray Luzier (Korn)/Brian Allen (Jogo Scofield) and some other songs with some amazing players. You can find all my newest stuff on all streaming platforms under my name
@@chrisjuergensen great I'll check it out, thanks

I’m 5 minutes into the video and you still haven’t taught me anything. Had to leave a dislike. This has gotta change if you want to make it

Thank you - nice lesson! That initial 3-7-1-5 voicing is gorgeous. The 3-5-7-1 is also nice, but I think I nearly broke my hand trying to do the fingering on my Strat... 😂
I've been following these lessons for years now, and I have to say, thank you...again. I have improved in so many way due to your excellent tutelage. I'm finally getting to where I want to be and it's because of killer lessons like this. Cheers!!

Just great - thanks so much Chris - I bet you're a fan of Ted Greene
@@leespivey6444 of course, I had and learned from his “Chord Chemistry” book when I was younger but it disappeared ten or so years ago. 😔
You're the man, Chris!! 🤘
This is great. The youtube algorithm has finally given me something worthwhile. This deserves many more views
@@MB-en3do thanks!! Look through the lessons, especially the Barry Harris’ Chromatic Scale workouts
Emi7♭13 must be Cmaj7 on E. Because ♭13 is avoid note on minor mode. Am I right?
I might write E7alt (w/o maj3rd) for the voicing, if not only diatonic chord.
This is great! All this lessons! Thanks!!

fab, as usual
Marvelous, thank you Chris.
Nice job Chris!. Is there any other tune where this turnaround exists?
Not really but you sometimes see the opposite sort of thing in a minor blues. G minor blues for example: Eb7, D7, Gmin7. It’s different but you could probably still use similar ideas
@@chrisjuergensen Yep, but that is way way more common/normal being the tritone sub for V of V. The All Blues turn is unique. I like the way you cycled through the Diminished triads. Very Scott Henderson. Nice work!! Scott use to open his live set with All Blues all the time. Not sure if he still does.
@@DavidHendersonMusicChannel I didn’t know that but I studied with Scott in the mid 80s so that would explain the similarities (not to say I play anywhere as good as him obviously)
subbed pal.
Thanks!!
My first reaction (30 sec in) was an eyes roll and “another minor pentatonic crap” but I stuck with the video and hats down to you Chris. Thank you for this.
It’s always a combination of the old stuff and the new stuff!
Too good. Waaaay too good. ❤
Very cool!!

Happy birthday, pal. ....even though I'm a year late. Nice playing and tone ! Thanks for this.
Thank you kindly!
What signal processing are you using Please?
This is a long time ago but I think it’s probably a Marshall JCM 800. The reverb and delay you hear is are plugins in the DAW (Ableton Live)
