I think the thing that i love about ten the most as a dancer is his versatility. When he learn a style that's new to him, he gets very invested and he incorporates the new style to his usual one. And i heard from the other members and choreographers that he really is a very perfectionist kind of dancer and that he learns really fast ( when he danced to lovely albeit having no formal training)

The theme of the dance was exorcism ( a monk who gets possessed by the devil and tries to pray to get rid of it but in the end the devil succeeds), his other hit the stage performances are amazing too, that’s how i came to appreciate him (veryy much) as a dancer, he really shined there.
The theme was not chosen by Ten, in Hit The Stage they gave different themes per episode, I mean, one episode was the theme of love/romance, another episode was thematic of fights, another episode was thematic of uniforms, and this specific chapter It had a horror/spoky theme where some of the dancers chose what they wanted to represent/show through their choreography, Momo chose that of vampires, Bora of witches, Ten that of a possession, etc.

Actually, Ten do a lot of amazing dance that sooo mind blowing in Hit The Stage. He always comes up with very interesting idea when Hit The Stage gave all participants the theme for their battle dance. You should check them up like, rom-com bible, the fight, and the uniforms onee.
That Devils performance really haunted me when I saw it. I was legit shook with the way he bent and just moved forward. Anyways, I think the dance practice was released due to popular demand because he also started making his solos and dance covers.

at the time this aired, ten was one of the youngest competitor, and also the newest in the industry i believe. nct had only debuted a few months before (i think it was around 4 months?), so not a lot was known about him as a real performer in the industry. it’s been a while since i watched this show so nctzens correct me if i’m wrong, but prepix is a crew ten has worked with even predebut and iirc the leader of that crew choreographed all his dances on hit the stage and ten said he was something like a mentor to him when he came to korea to train under sm. ten participated in several other rounds - the uniform, this love, the fight - but most of the time he was one of the lower ranking performers even tho he received great reviews from the renowned dancers on the panel.
the performance version was actually the first version, performed in 2016 when ten was a 'rookie', whilst the practice was modified and created around 2018. whilst the performance vers. flexibility display is amazing and was missing from the newer vers., you can really see how ten's technique and quality of dance improved in the more recent one. p.s please watch ten's dream in a dream practice station vers.!
the fact he is not classically trained, only been trained in hip hop and under sm to become an idol from my knowledge, is absolutely insane to me. he embodies the artistic visual of contemporary and ballet so well and has such a great understanding of body shape and character usage. hes by far my personal favorite dancer in kpop, matched by taemin (super m, shinee, solo) and kai (super m, exo). kai having been trained in ballet really showes in his grace, and I think the more these 3 work together they grow and learn for each other. not to mention bts' jimin is besties with kai and taemin.. these 4 love dance so much, its clear to see how it's still a passion to them despite being their profession

That's one of the things I really love with Ten. He always gives his best and he is very passionate everytime he performs. Hit the stage performances are gifts to us.
NCT has an overflow of amazing dancers, but Ten is definitely the best dancer in NCT. This is because he has a lot of versatility, and as a dancer, he's very open to new ideas. Even with simple/small movements, he exudes such quality that it leaves you in awe.

It is really amazing how he and the choreographer came up with this! His dance was based off a Korean movie called “Black Priests.” In the movie, the priest gets possessed and prays for his life to be saved. In the end, he ends up getting possessed. Ten wanted to portray that concept in his dance. The beginning with him in the robes represents him praying to the gods and once the robe comes off, it represents him becoming possessed. Ten really went for a huge picture, I’m proud of him.

The perfomance on Hit The Stage was in 2016 (when he was 20 or so) and they didn't film a dance practice for it until a year or two later. I'm not sure why, probably just cause he was bored. There was a year or two after he debuted that he wasn't active in NCT songs or promotions, so he made a lot of dance videos in the meantime. Ten uses his hands a loooot when he dances. He choreographed a dance to Taki Taki a couple years ago for fun, and there are so many special hand details he put in. Another amazing dance practice of his (my personal favorite) is for his solo song Dream in a Dream. There's also a music video, but the dance practice video is gorgeous and blows me away every time I watch it. Thank you for giving love to our boy Ten! He's so talented and special, and his fanbase is only growing :)

When he kicks out of the bridge (crab thing) he actually changes legs which is difficult for someone who isn't a gymnast (as an ex gymnast it was hard for me as well) because of the amount of balance and control to hold the handstand and switch legs. The switching motion of the legs puts off balance as well so the core strength involved is huge.
I really love your reaction! And Ten is currently my favorite dancer, there's just really something about him and the way he moves like he's really communicating something with his body. You might have this lined up but I really really do recommend watching his solos, Dream in a Dream and New Heroes, plus his dance cover to Coco Chanel. Hit the Stage happened around 2016. Ten performed it again last year in 2019 for an SM Station showcase kind of thing, and then released the dance practice for the Station version. In the station version, he doesn’t do the exorcism part sadly :( gives me goosebumps every time. Hope this helped! :)

And your comments about just how he communicated what he did with his hand movements and the tensing at the end of the movements was really cool to hear. And yeah, Ten's really flexible, but I think the extra parts from Hit The Stage were kind of dangerous to do repeatedly (that's the impression I get anyway) so it wasn't in the 'dance practice' that he did all that time later. Ten really is a fantastic dancer, his movements are so light and yet so powerful. There's a really hilarious clip floating around the internet of him as a kid though (he was maybe 8 or 10?) and him going "This is a dance for giiiirls" and demonstrating. He's come a long way since then XD (Lots of hard work, that's what! He had an injury for a while that stopped him dancing, I'm so glad he's recovered. It's such a privilege to watch him dance :D)

I'd recommend watching Ten's performance from ep 6 and Yugyeom for GOT7's Hit The Stage performances from ep 9 and 10 since you watched Ten's performance. Ten's Hit the Stage performances are what got me into NCT! By far my favorite creative and dancer, and nct never disappoints :D

When he kicks out of the bridge (crab thing) he actually changes legs which is difficult for someone who isn't a gymnast (as an ex gymnast it was hard for me as well) because of the amount of balance and control to hold the handstand and switch legs. The switching motion of the legs puts off balance as well so the core strength involved is huge.
I really love your reaction! And Ten is currently my favorite dancer, there's just really something about him and the way he moves like he's really communicating something with his body. You might have this lined up but I really really do recommend watching his solos, Dream in a Dream and New Heroes, plus his dance cover to Coco Chanel. And of course, the rest of his Hit the Stage performances. Oh and you might also want to check out WayV's Comeback and Take Off dance practice, it's super good! I can't get enough of this man, really, there's not enough content of him dancing lol

My personal favorite dance cover is his Coco Chanel cover that was choreographed by Yumeki! I think they called that dance style as dancehall? It's really nice! Maybe you'd like it 😆

Ten is such a great dancer, one of the best in this generation probably . He did two stations with a really amazing performances called New Heroes and Dream in a Dream, also he had others unforgettable performance in Hit the Stage, as the theme Uniform and the theme Fight

Hit the Stage happened around 2016. Ten performed it again last year in 2019 for an SM Station showcase kind of thing, and then released the dance practice for the Station version. In the station version, he doesn’t do the exorcism part sadly :( gives me goosebumps every time. Hope this helped! :)

I missed that you did this already :D Yes, this is so iconic!! And your comments about just how he communicated what he did with his hand movements and the tensing at the end of the movements was really cool to hear. And yeah, Ten's really flexible, but I think the extra parts from Hit The Stage were kind of dangerous to do repeatedly (that's the impression I get anyway) so it wasn't in the 'dance practice' that he did all that time later.
Ten really is a fantastic dancer, his movements are so light and yet so powerful. There's a really hilarious clip floating around the internet of him as a kid though (he was maybe 8 or 10?) and him going "This is a dance for giiiirls" and demonstrating. He's come a long way since then XD (Lots of hard work, that's what! He had an injury for a while that stopped him dancing, I'm so glad he's recovered. It's such a privilege to watch him dance :D)

Like everyone is saying Ten is such an amazing dancer. He literally debuted that year and blew everyone's minds. I'd recommend watching Ten's performance from ep 6 and Yugyeom for GOT7's Hit The Stage performances from ep 9 and 10 since you watched Ten's performance. In general, you should check out all their performances :))
I think he does have ballet training when he was young. Not sure but I think he mentioned it when he went to the Knowing bros show with super m.

Ten is very flexible. He's former gymnast and can do a lot of stuff that require a high level of flexibility. He showed it few times during some variety shows and in some other videos like in NCT 2018 vlive

You can also check out the show Hit the stages itself, which was such a great show. I watched all the episodes to see just Ten but other kpop dancers also did some amazing performance there as well.
you have to check out more of his hit the stage performances theyre incredible and he learned tap dance and wacking for a very short period of time for the show and nailed it !!! also check out his solos dream in a dream and new heros both have incredible choreos~
