The yells at every turn in the second half really speaks volumes about this ride. Some coasters make you feel like you've conquered something; The Legend makes you feel like you've survived something.
Holy ish.
The laterals while the coaster ran those Gerstlauer trains were brutal indeed.
This was the second and final year that the ride operated with the Gerstlauer train. The PTC trains were introduced the year after this.
Things that you see this in this video that have changed:
1. The station has been reconfigured to accommodate two train operations.
2. The entire back segment now sees the ride interact with ZOOMbabwe and Zinga.
3. The addition of a double down exiting the helix
Oh yes, that bring back good memories of the original trains, man that was running fast that year. Laterals are great on The Legend, especially near the end there after the tunnel.
It was a far more egressing ride than it was the last time I rode it, in 2021.
Wow, looks like it gets faster as it goes!
It certainly felt that way while riding it back then.
Good god you weren't kidding about how fast this thing ran with the Gerstlauer train. Though I'm not sure those laterals would've been all that comfy with the U shaped lapbars 😅
The park had the lap bars modified to include a notch for riders legs to sit in. "Legend Legs" was a real thing that the park acknowledged and did something to help fix it. It made it a lot easier to ride.
One of my favorite wooden coasters
it was one of my favorites as well.
The Legend is insanely overlooked
Will you be at media day for Top Thrill2?
Nope. No plans to visit Cedar Point this season, unfortunately.
