The Legend of Zelda NES - Dungeon Theme Extended

- I felt like extending something different from Phoenix Wright today, so here is a Legend of Zelda extension!
Enjoy!
I do not own this theme or any of the pictures used, all rights to their respective owners.
Never has an 8 bit sound chip captured the horror of fantasy dungeons so perfectly
Try *0.5x playback speed*
@@raymontdabizach The game already does that for you when you use the candle on a bunch of enemies lol
@@raymontdabizach Creed! The music is super creepy 😱!
@@rennerxtreme *2x*
@@raymontdabizach I already did the test, it looks like Mario Bros when it goes into countdown.
I hear this when I walk to the bathroom in the middle of night.
Haha. +1.
To drop some bombs I assume?
Yes... yes indeed
Thor Pedersen I see what you did there... :D
+Thor Klauson lolololol i see what u did there lol g1
Each loop lasts less than 20 seconds and it still sounds ominous, epic and dramatic. Koji Kondo everyone.
The piano music is in 4/4 time is is only 8 bars long. So yah like 20 seconds
@@SkyKing5634 19 seconds
Deep Purple everyone
It is old and simple yet it stills a masterpiece !!
*****
hh kinda
yup but i also consider Zelda- A link to the past like a masterpiece!! one can't simply have just a single best game ;|
Someone should play this @ Lincoln center during an important recital
No
fryhoonable you don’t know what that is
I played this for 4 hours tonight as my scary Holloween music for the trick or treaters!!
escapethefall1 that’s cringe
@@slicknick333 sick burn, totes got him
Very cringe indeed.
Why's everybody so mean
because there soulless creatures
i once saw a gypsy playing this on an accordion in the park, for money
i gave him money.
I want to see him too
I would gladly give money in that scenario
::tosses rupees:::
@@tomzadvydas1758 well played
Did he give you a piece of heart?
I have to be honest, after playing this game for so many years it's weird hearing the full tune without any lag from the game loading in the next room.
Or through one less channel because you're on one heart.
Subconsciously, I kept expecting it to slow down randomly, too. That happened when you entered a room with a bunch of enemies, too, and I particularly associate extended slowdown in rooms with Wizzrobes and Like-Likes. 😆
So like you never just stood still in a monsterless room after you killed everyone to let it play? I did.
Yeah when there's too many enemies in a stage
The best Zelda dungeon soundtrack. Creepy, dark, scary and memorable.
Face shrine is up there too
WELL, EXCUSE ME PRINCESS

Oh boy, smoochin' time! 🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️
That was more Zelda II
very hypnotic. this music actually puts me to sleep
It keeps me awake
It keeps me awake too,to play some Zelda
it is relaxing
*0.75x* will help!
Justice sure knows which songs have the most potential!
Yup!!
aha came here right after listening to the album
Link is certainly an Explorer as well as you and I
The more you listen to this, the more you hear the slight changes in the sounds of music..... I love this theme because it's both dark and beautiful.
Deep Purple - 'April' was Kondo's inspiration for this piece.
Indeed. One might even argue something more than just "inspiration."
It's not complete without the one- heart beat tone and the dragon breath sounds
>getting hit
Fucking casual.
You seem to be forgetting, the one heart beat tone drowns out half of this bgm.
@@Metaridley17 when one of the channels gets drowned out that's when the tune gets even sicker
it is not the part of the music it have nothing to do with not realizing that it i a joke!
Or without your mom telling you turn down the volume because the low health sound is getting annoying.
This is surprisingly creepy! I remember playing my cousin's Nintendo and being too scared to go into the dungeons because of this theme!!
Me 2. Jajajajjajajso creepy man
Oh yeah, as a little kid I once got to a dungeon but immediately left because I assumed with the scary music that it would be too hard and I didn't want to go back to the start.
THIS OST IS TIMELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
favorite game on the NES
An arpeggio and a bassline. So simple, but it lets the listener imagine so much.
ya know what? im slowly learning that all the songs ive had stuck in my head for years now are all just random zelda songs. IVE NOT EVEN PLAYED THE GAMES FOR GOD'S SAKE! HOW ARE THEY STUCK IN MY HEAD?! WHAT KINDOF MAGICAL SORCERY IS THIS?!
@Isildur Son of elendil I recently just finished BOTW. I see now why all those songs were stuck in my head. Wonderful game series.
I could recommend Wind Waker on the Gamecube or the HD version on the WiiU as a starter Zelda.
My Older Brother and I would play this game and beat it together every Christmas when we would all fly out and visit my Parents and Younger Sister. I have so many strong memories tied to the hours we have played this game and the music. Music takes me right back home. Thank you for blessing me with this Zelda music! Classic and special 🙌
Damn those blue Wizrobes
Thyago Americo in breath of the wild lynels with a savage lynel crusher one hit kill me.
Rooo-booop Rooo-booop...
The less that is said about those damn Darknuts, the better.😡
OH MAN THIS IS SO GOOD! MYSTIC SOUNDING!
I agree.
That moment you just collected a heart and don't hear the low heart sound anymore.
This theme is now on super mario maker 2!!
All the music they added to SMM2 works so well!
Ahh, the golden 80's (and 90's).
And 00's.
@@jankjason that’s called the early 2000s
@@jankjason 00's was garbage because of you.
Still hauting me after all these years...
I would listen to this when I was in college in my 30s. Listened when my kids were babies and just rocking back and forthwith them in the middle of the night.
I’m 43 now, listening as I write notes after work and it’s 0126 (am).
It brings back so many memories when I played as a kid in the 80s and so many other milestones in my life🥹and so many more to come…
Hypnotic.
"It's a secret to everybody"
-Red Moblin
I love how the game lags every time you go to the forward door
"I fear no man. But that thing..."
[ZELDA DUNGEON THEME]
"It scares me."
I cranked this up to full volume and my grandmother came to me like "This music is good".Then i went to the kitchen for a tea and she continued the conversation like "I like these better than those rockers with their drums what rips your head off".
Because my sister always bumps rock and punk music on full volume,so this moment was very memorable for me,thanks to this masterpiece. :) I'm 19 btw.
Koji Kondo, who composed this game, is actually big fan of rock (particularly progressive rock) from what I've read online.
"I'm 19 btw"
Only 11 year olds say "I'm [age] btw"
Thus, you must be 11
Gayest comment on youtube
yeah sure.

Listening to this makes me realize that the Soul Sanctum theme from Hollow Knight is basically this with some changes
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ it's so beautiful and timeless. Nostalgic, wondrous.
A quote that best sums up the mood of this theme: "Abandon hope all ye who enter here." This piece is so haunting, desolate, and endless...but that's just my opinion. ; )
If the song beethoven - moonlight sonata was an 8-bit song, this would be it.
No, this would
ruclips.net/video/j5XECo2p9Zg/видео.html
Actually it'd be April by Deep Purple. ruclips.net/video/yV8e_RkpiNA/видео.html
To be more specific to that, its about 2 minutes into April by Deep Purple
@@nicka5040 nope its bilongo la negra tomasa 8bits thank me later
@@rubenfernandez3578 Like Scotty said, Deep Purple's song has the exact same melody. lol.
Never played this original Zelda, but this theme is just beautiful...
Very jealous. I'd love to play it for the first time again.
Never??? You do live on this planet, right? LOL
It is beautiful, though the game itself is really *Really* hard to beat.
.75 speed is where it's at people. completely changes the mood
I played this game for the first time about a week ago, and I gotta say I'm having a blast!
Deep Purple - April
The first dungeon theme on the series, still being one of the best dungeon themes of all time, I love it! =)
The soundtrack of my childhood nightmares
It goes down in the DM!
Thought the same thing!!
+Shorty Longstrokin OMG that's why I came here!!!! lol i was thinking the same thing
+Marcus Scott wow i thought i was the only one who heard it lmao
john smith Haha ikr. I ended up mixing down in the DM with mega man 2 level select 😂
+Shorty Longstrokin This is the correct answer. I thought I was the only one...
I once heard someone say that video game music is like modern day classical, I realized how genious that analysis was
Back then this been called a masterpiece, but now it is known as a relic of history.
The best soundtrack, full of intensity, depth, scariness, and atmosphere! Perfect!
I pressed the microwave buttons and felt the stress of having low hearts
This brings me back some memories for 2020!! whenever I use to go trick or treating every Halloween or when I’m alone in some abandoned places spooky 😱
I return here , every so often…
And here is am
I still think for me as a kid the roughest level was Level 4 on the 2nd quest or "D". It introduced 1-way doors, the leave your life or money guy, red bubbles, putting a secret behind the triforce room (kid me missed this forever and had my mind blown when I found it) and probably some others.
Let me tell you a story:
It was mid October in 2014, It was late and I was starting to fall asleep with my Nintendo DSI charging while it was paused on this level on the 20th anniversary of loz. Hearing this again, looping, brings me back to the days in my childhood where things were simpler, where I would draw, or play with my toys and be contempt. I miss when I didn’t have to be playing video games all the time like I have to today. Keep in mind that my dsi was my only console that was truly mine, and I didn’t have a computer or phone, or any way to access the internet in any way, other than the family computer which ran an older version of windows and was rly slow. Brings me back man, I miss those times. :(
Level 6 gave me nightmares.
+Matt H. Those fucking wizards.
+ZhangJao
Wizrobes are crazy little wizards.
Wizzrobe* Even the blue one are the worst tbh.
Quite a difficulty peak, indeed. Most of the time I do the 7th before nowadays because it's easier.
My all-time favorite video game soundtrack.

Screw the effin HECC out of you.
To some people that could be a little offensive.
Smooth McGroove ^__^
Is it me or does this sound like a remix of the Super Mario Bros castle theme?
The 80s
It's amazing how an otherwise basic tune can work well. I wouldn't want to listen to it all day but when you're playing...
The best game in Zelda history.
Nothing beats the original
This just brings such a smile to my face.
Back when the hero was a short elf guy, who was so badass he didn't need to run or jump..
This game was a pain in the ass yet I beat it and happy that I went through the struggle, especially with this theme
Just a guy from year 2021 coming trough😂 even when this song is way back in the 80's it's still one of my favourite Zelda songs
This brings back so many good memories in the 8th grade when I would pay this game on my wii and I was so focused. I love it so much I consider it to be very good music to eliminate petty insignificant and unimportant matters that have nothing to do with me.
I keep finding this arpeggio everywhere. Beautiful
greatest video game of all time. fightme
My favorite song of all time.
It pumps me the f up.
Its ring music to my ears.
This is when you had to have an imagination to play games. Loved it
The most nostalgic memory, I remember playing this game on the GameCube collectors edition, I love this game series so much
Omg it's lars's battle theme!!
f u
who's lars
My favorite Zelda Song, nothing can change my mind :D
And this person was so nice he shows the World map where u need ta go(Thumbs up)
Y'all gotta hear the orchestral version of this on the Swedish orchestra video, its insane
Sounds Scary!
When you're home alone at night
A masterpiece of my childhood!! Wow 1986
I'm just doing my school work to this
Reminds me of the Soul Sanctum in Hollow Knight.
I hope a remix version of this comes back in Zelda Wii U/NX. I just hope in general the new Zelda takes some cues from Older Zelda games.
good news
the sanctuaries seem to have a calmer remix of this
+PikaSamus025 yup. much better lol
no Fuck Off I want zelda Wii u to be it's own thing entirely
Rory Sullivan too late.
+Rory Sullivan
"it's" means "it is."
I love playing this at half speed. Creepy but in a good way.
Transistor ost - Vanishing point
This music puts me into a trance state. Funny sometimes I can sleep study and meditate to this.
Literally playing this blasting in my car in the middle of Miami. No one understands me here. :(
So misterious. beware man who speaks in hand and it is from another world
I still love that little verse added for the Color Dungeon in Link's Awakening DX. It wasn't anything long or profound, but made a super-atmospheric dungeon theme even better.
U know you’re a dad that was an 80’s baby when you find yourself @ 10pm cleaning your sons Jordans while humming along to the bass line for duration of this video
ZELDA! THE GUANTLET IS UNDER ATTACK.
Aletargado en el tiempo
Obsesionado con verte
Se enrojecieron mis ojos
Se marchitaba mi mente
Será.....
Que aún no se llenaba la luna
Será.....
Que el tiempo fue menguando nuestras ganas
Será.....🎶🎶🎶🎶🎵🎵🎶🎶
This is beautiful when you have a fire going
I just realized how much Greed from Binding of Isaac reminded me of this
Me recuerda la parte final que sale en la negra tomasa
I always found this scary but I love it!! Brings a lot of memories for sure!
At that point it's no longer just a game. It's an experience.
If you could do this for the "Continue?" screen of "Earthworm Jim 1" that would just magnificently kick ass!! It's such a catchy little number...
This song is such a nostalgia hit. They used it in the Friday cartoon all the time as well.
I love how this is better than 90% of phantom hourglasses ost
Those two rooms with blue darknuts in level 5 that you have to get through without dying to get the flute...
ARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!
Oh, and Wizzrobes too. I'm not forgetting about you.
Or those bubbles that took away your sword.
Creepy...I love it!
When you wake up at 3 am to go get water in the kitchen
This music is hypnotic...
