Barcelona 2009 was better and could definitely beat Bayern Munich 2013. Barcelona 2009 won Sextuple while Bayern Munich failed Sextuple, and even if Jupp Heynckes had stayed he would've lost to Chelsea in the 2013 UEFA Super Cup, considering the fact he couldn't beat Chelsea in 2012 UCL Final which shows that he definitely would've not have beaten Chelsea in the 2013 UEFA Super Cup if he had stayed.

Xavi and Iniesta were far from their prime in 2013, especially Xavi. 2008 to 2012 was barcas golden age, coinciding with Spains golden era. Once Xavi declined, both barca and spain went down hill.

Barca don't have Xavi, Iniesta or Dani Alves but they have Nelson Semedo and more particularly, Frenkie De Jong. He can cause Bayern so much trouble if he plays as a box-to-box player. But with Lewandowski at ST, Bayern just have to feed him the ball in order to have a good chance at winning.

2012-2013 Bayern München has to be at least at the top 3 teams of the past decade; Champions League, Bundesliga, DFB Pokal Champions, The scoreboard on almost every game was absurdly good for them. 2012-2014 German football was out of this world in my opinion.

Schweinsteiger and Martinez as well as Ribery with the season of their lives. Gomez/Mandzukic scoring freely. Mueller in his prime year, as well as Robben. And incredible Kroos showing what he is capable of Many of those players played the season of their career in 2012/13.
I don't think the team and especially Heynckes get enough for credit for these two games and the season overall. This was a magical team and the final against Dortmund is still the best game of football I've ever seen.
What can I say, Liverpool were tactically superior to us in every aspect of the 2nd leg at Anfield. We didn't learn our lesson from the Roma 2nd leg game in Italy.
sick video 👍 Tbh as a barca fan i really credit bayern for the way they defend and completely shut down our game plans. Many times our attack was simply outnumbered by bayern's back line. 3:11 is a great example, in this game the game plan was to simply give the ball to messi who was the root of the attack, but even though messi is the GOAT 🐐even he can't dribble past that many players in such a narrow space every single time. These defensive tactics were also the reason why bayern beat us 8-2. But when barcelona had a strong attack line that didn't rely solely on messi (2009,2015) are great examples, we beat bayern because in 2009, bayern's defense had trouble defending against Theirry Henry, Samel Eto, & Messi, and in 2015 they had trouble defending against Messi, Neymar, And Suarez. There is a whole lot more that goes into tactical anaylsis of games, but this is just something we can take away from Bar Vs Bay Games.
Not all ;) every team has its ups and downs, fact is bayern were monsters that year and simply outsmarted and outplayed Barca, theres no shame in admitting you were defeated, i watched the match and even while being frustrated we lost you couldnt help but admire the bayern genius tactics and efforts they were making in that game, they deserved to win in more than us and they did.

What can I say, Liverpool were tactically superior to us in every aspect of the 2nd leg at Anfield. We didn't learn our lesson from the Roma 2nd leg game in Italy.

Many times our attack was simply outnumbered by bayern's back line. 3:11 is a great example, in this game the game plan was to simply give the ball to messi who was the root of the attack, but even though messi is the GOAT 🐐even he can't dribble past that many players in such a narrow space every single time. These defensive tactics were also the reason why bayern beat us 8-2. But when barcelona had a strong attack line that didn't rely solely on messi (2009,2015) are great examples, we beat bayern because in 2009, bayern's defense had trouble defending against Theirry Henry, Samel Eto, & Messi, and in 2015 they had trouble defending against Messi, Neymar, And Suarez. There is a whole lot more that goes into tactical anaylsis of games, but this is just something we can take away from Bar Vs Bay Games.
