When you are in a goth rock band or in any band you gotta do a few masterpiece balleds to even it out. Their still amazing loyal fans never complain if a band changes their style a bit. Who knows cause this is just their first single the 69 eyes came out with.
Their music has obviously changed through the years, but there's nothing wrong with that, it's a natural evolution. I can still appreciate the style, it's highly recognizable. "Lost Without Love" seems a bit more like HIM (my fav band, actually) than typical Helsinki Goth'n'Roll, but I love the energy and the freshness of it. Plus Jyrki's soaring vocal sounds amazing - it's strong, melodic and wonderfully wistful at the same time.
Thats what we are waiting so long time from The 69 eyes....they have lot of just good songs but not awesome songs before that...It's so simply but it works...more that pls!

I agree with Oislita and 69eyes2191, something is happening with them, I don't know if Jyrki try to sing pop, or if the band in general want to get in a U.S. market (MTV, etc) even the lyrics are different than Blessed Be.. or Paris Kills Albums. However, they are my favorite band, and I will follow them "From Dusk till Dawn"
Because Finland has decided to step up with the rapid decline of metal bands from Britain and Ireland. There has too be balance in the universe, and Finnish Metal Bands are creating just that.
Because a lot of metal bands from other places, especially USA, sound very much the same.95% of the time you can hear if the band is american or not, just after 20 seconds of the song. But there is a lot of good metal bands coming from Sweden too, Norway also has some.
I'd rather close my eyes not to ever see that. But I appreciate them too much to do that. Anyway you are right, the videos and music from last album was a bit not so "goth'n'roll" as before, but the lyrics were good. I was just like scared specially when I heard the part of the "chorus". More rock and not so so goth wouldnt be that bad, but.. well, I suppose I have always loved much more "the old ones" or at least His Deep voice...

AND 69 EYES CDS AND I WAS LISTING TO THEM ON MY MUSIC PLAYER PEOPLE WERE LIKE WHAT IS THIS/ THEY WERE AFRAID HAHAHAHA. NOW ITS DIFFERENT.
