The change in melanin levels and other physical features are due to environmental factors of places they inhabited....it is a no brainer (if descendants of Japheth & Ham both found themselves in Europe and lived there together for thousands of years, they became white, or if Descendants of Ham and Shem both found themselves in Africa for thousands of years, they eventually became black Africans).
So Japheth may be the Father of blacks and whites, Ham may be the Father of blacks and whites, and shem may be the Father of blacks and whites!
