Thank you for sharing this. You mentioned that your car's limp mode has gone. I wonder if the light (the exclaimation mark next to gear) has also gone?
Hello, (I'm French) I come to you because I have the same problem. I have to go to the garage (BMW specialist) but the appointment is on October 1st. I explain my problem. First of all I had a DSC light that came on. The system was impossible to restart. Then the car started to stall at the red light. I decided to stop driving and have a diagnostic done. The diagnostic indicated a faulty DSC sensor. Then I went to another garage, who saw that my large air intake pipe behind the air box was torn. But at that time the car was still driving without any gearbox problems. The only thing was the idle which seemed to no longer hold and the engine stalled. Then today, the engine shakes when starting and the 5-speed ZF automatic gearbox went into safety mode. I didn't see what the gears were but it seems to be stuck in 3rd gear since the car has no power but reverse works. When the mod drive or R is engaged it has a jolt and the gear engages. Anyway.. I hope my automatic gearbox is not broken and that the problem just comes from an air vacuum problem. My BmW is 2005 330Ci pack M2 Km 174,000.
Feel like I’ve tried everything with my trans I have the exact model 01 330ci, did trans filter w new fluid even changed the entire steptronic filter assembly due to thinking it was the shift lock solenoid.
