An in depth look at the political layout of the EVE Online universe as of Winter 2018 -- Watch live at / alek Missed the original? • EVE Online: Geography ...
I wouldn’t mind a look at Providence. You mentioned in another video you have some history there, and there’s nothing better than a good story ;) I think NRDS is quite the perfect policy for neutrals taking their first steps in Sov-Null, they can basically come visit whenever they feel like it, especially since the region is cornered by so much High- and Lowsec space. I wonder why other alliances are not so keen on it, would they not benefit from neutrals? Anyway, keep those vids coming, good job!
history of provi has been done once already with talardar and another guy. maybe a region in the north or south like lesser known regions like maybe Tenal or maybe Esoteria?
Absolutely not, main reason is, we can't have expensive assests like roquals, carriers, and supercarriers when neutrals are in local. As far as major alliances are concerned; neuts = enemy cyno
+Alekseyev Love the video, I want all your EVE geopolitical knowledge dumped into my head! I apologize for the imposition, however, some advice please. What corp is likely to benefit me most? Or which corp would derive the most value from my services, and reward that service with sufficient recompense? I'm a really new player, I managed to PLEX in 15 days, through Exploration, and well on my way to another. I want to hunt though, and I want to help change the Sov maps you use for these videos... and of course eventually take over the universe. I'm completely addicted, and wish I'd found the game years ago. I play quite a lot, but I'm in the US timezone. Any ideas? Any help is welcome.
Hi Perni, thanks for the love. Unfortunately there's such a wide range of EVE corps that I could scarcely begin to recommend you just one. Right now the groups most impactful at actual map changes don't really have a strong reputation as being newbie friendly. TEST or Pandemic Horde or Goonswarm would be the alliances to look at that would be closest to that power fantasy. I'd offer to recruit you myself but my corp's not looking to move sov maps any time soon!
What a fantastic content, this should be launched every quarter to keep those less involved in Null-sec wars up to date on whats going on. I would love to see more of this political landscape and war explanation.
i belong to a WH corp!!! I love the way we play EVE online!!! we are out of everything!! so i dont know a lot about politics to this game until i met you on youtube! thanks for inform us!!! :P fly safe
Tri is going to break without help, wouldn't be the first time either. CVA has also been holding up quite well against PL, they have defended their space for a very long time and are very good at it. I could also see TEST and Legacy coalition helping out CVA, and Imperium is likely to 3rd party any major fights as both TEST and Goons have been relatively friendly with CVA.
This is great. Could you do a monthly report like this? Also, have you thought about working with Andrew Groen ( Empires of Eve ) to create a second book?
Jason Kidney S hi Jason, I plan to do a monthly region-specific update as a video series. And while I don't plan on writing a book anytime soon I do plan to have Andrew return as a podcast guest in the near future to talk about what he's up to!
Frat and Tri have been allies before C02 was dead During my time in Phoenix Fed I remember FCON beginning the blue donought war by attacking Frat, mainly to acquire more space to expand Phoenix fed with newbro highsec alliances or smaller alliances that wanted to try do their own thing after WWB. PFED Appealed to the smaller Alliances cause you could run an alliance how you wanted, and all you had to do was hit a paps requirement. Fcon Saw Fraternity as an easy target and wanted to show they too had a dick to swing around. Because of the foundation of PFED, Fcon needed to be surrounded by blues, So when CO2 had their little mutiny, Fcon deployed to help Test. The just to make sure their was never not a blue in sight, PFED joined the DRF, left completly surrounded by a blue donut, so TRI and Frat joined up to destroy FCON and give it out to Frat to prevent them being surrounded by a blue doughnut as they didn't want the space, but needed an Ally.
You may enjoy Jintaan's channel for that kind of content. Or if you would like it in podcast form, my show www.declarationsofwar.com has a lot of current politics analysis
They get so much mining done because they bot and punish their own for reporting botters. They're literally the cancer of EVE. Great series, brother. Can't wait for more.
@Alekseyev great video! Keep them coming! CCP has already been kicking the citadel conversion can further and further down the road. They touted this as "Upcoming Winter" then it was "1st Quarter" after that it was "End of 1st Quarter" now it's just listed as "Upcoming Summer." I'm not sure if someone at CCP has an axe to grind with Provi, a CSM member or they support NC. and PL. They might be having an issue with the game mechanics and truly having issues with the conversion process. If they'd have stayed with a close to original time line, this would be a moot point, but we're not and here we are.
I don't know much about the game just a small interest in it recently and was wondering why the middle part wasn't captured is that the "high sec" area that can't be captured by players? and if so what about the northern spot between xxdeathxx and panfam are those also highsec systems or just nothing useful there?
Caabooose The central area consists of High and Low security space. These are controlled by the NPC empires of EVE. The dark spots outside of that are NPC controlled nullsec space, specifically the factions of EVE pirates. The exception to that is the dark regions in the far north east, those are "Jove" space; dev regions inaccessible to players outside of events like the Alliance Tournament. If you check out my original video, linked in description, I go into more detail about those areas
FRT and TRI are allies of the first hour of war against FCON, since the pheonix federation failed with their winter/spring offensive against FRT in Wicked-Creed.
Good video. I only got 360p, so it was a bit hard to see the text/systems on the map. Are you able to get it in higher resolution? Keep up the good work.
Fountain has a "core" of systems which have NPC stations, enabling groups to base out of it easily. In practice, invasions are rarely launched from there but you will see alliances base out of there long term to farm the surrounding entities for content. If those entities aren't strong enough to withstand it they'll collapse. The other dynamic is the owner of Delve traditionally exercises a lot of power over Fountain, Querious, and Period Basis. If a large power, like Goonswarm, takes hold of that region you can expect them to replace resident alliances with ones that are more favorable to their interests. That's the chain of events which caused the most recent Fountain turn over. I talk more about Fountain here: ruclips.net/video/GtG5rF6jgcs/видео.html
*I don't even play this fucking game and I'm as familiar with it's large conflicts and wars as I am with most large conflicts and wars in real fucking life* EVE: online Love it or Hate it You gotta respect everything that it is I actually haven't even watched this video, either I just came here to pay my respects You might see me on many other videos doing the same, because this is one of the coolest games- no, communities- no that's still not it.. _experiences?_ Yes. This is one of the coolest- if not *the coolest* fucking *_experience_* you can be a part of, in the *entire realm of gaming*
Loved the optimism in needing to do one next year as a lot will change. A lot already has changed with horde moving, tri leaving its space and becoming mobile and the like. Might have to do one next month 😄
Correction: Unspoken Alliance are NOT on their own. We form Volta and Skill Urself are behind them and are always coming to their important timers on T3 fleet 30-50 alpha lokis. And Skill Urself support them with superfleet, so Prothean can't use their capitals against them. Otherwise, it's really 10 or so active ppl. They wouldn't do anything without Volta and ZeroFuns.
Long time political junkie here, so I think real world politics and economics in a fantasy/scifi game is amazing. I doubt I will ever own a computer expensive enough to play unfortunately. The players themselves have cooperated to establish/control whole regions of a fictional galaxy!
BTW I run a Dell Optiplex 780 3.16 ghz, 4 gb ram windows 7, old Amd 1 gb video card. Can I run the game or do I need major upgrades to my computer/life?
Well, you're right, you don't call yourselves a coalition, I meant allies in war, the same way TRI and CO2 were at the beginning of the FCON invasion. In 19:20 the author says that you are engaged against TRI, and (correct me if I'm wrong) you took that space that FCON used to have by working along with TRI
rip perrigen Falls the renters dont got any help from the Xdeath or BoT. Razer got taken out there after that the next strongest group DFP and now all the smaller corps there.
I don't play eve, but this was fascinating! I think you should make more "lore" style videos and history. You could be like a journalist/historian. A journalorian,
Is it me or is this trend of players high in an alliance switching sides and stealing all assets of their old alliance a bit of a broken thing? Don't you want wars to play out inside the game with fleets vs fleets? Not inside real life, with hacking of passwords or whatever is done?
I don’t play EVE, but the politics and mechanics in this game has me obsessed with it.
It's free now, id get it if I were you
Also pandemic horde is the best alliance for new players
2019, time to do the new one !!!
I really enjoy this geography series where you. Break down all the interesting shit going on in eve. Keep on keeping on my dude.

This is awesome, I just started playing Eve. I'd like to see the 2020 year
Can we get a 6th month update? There's been quite a shift as of late up north from what I gather.
How long till we get an update for half year 2018?
And I commented on that first one XD Will you be doing a new one in early 2019?
I really love these geopolitics videos, please continue in the future

You make a compelling case sir... (also, thanks!)
history of provi has been done once already with talardar and another guy. maybe a region in the north or south like lesser known regions like maybe Tenal or maybe Esoteria?
Carebears should be relegated to highsec. We don't need a null hugbox for them.
i lived in provi for 2 years. Nrds is garbage
Absolutely not, main reason is, we can't have expensive assests like roquals, carriers, and supercarriers when neutrals are in local. As far as major alliances are concerned; neuts = enemy cyno
I hope to see more of these. Being up to date is always good.
