And yet America is supposed to have laws against monopolies, but all of these huge companies always seem to find ways around that.
Plot twist: CollegeHumor is owned by Luxottica too.
when you finally know something that the smart kid doesn't
wow remember when an iphone cost $400
Why don't they just remove the headphone jack to make it cheaper?
"I'm the Adam now."
People are sooooo short-sighted when it comes to glasses.
So... what you are saying is that I should wear a monocle?
I've worn glasses my entire life and now I'm pissed...
"I AM THE ADAM NOW"
*takes off glasses*
"How are your loved ones?"
As someone who works in eye care, this is 100% true! A little hack is if you find a frame you like, try it on in the store, ask if it’ll work for your prescription (IMPORTANT) then to just buy it online & then bring them in to have them measured to put your lenses in! It’s double to triple the price if you buy it in the store
My dad complained about his glasses giving him a headache. He was popping out the lenses to demonstrate how cheaply made they were, when he jokingly said "what if my prescriptions were flipped"
Emily: "I'm the Adam now"
2 pairs of online prescription glasses from a Canadian co cost me $80. And they were careful enough to send me a message when they thought one of my measurements was off- I assured them I did indeed have a smaller than average pupillary distance but was impressed that they checked. They are as well made as anything I ever got from an optometrist.
"They are selling you the illusion of choice."
My local optometrist refuse to use product by Luxotica, and stood by his stance for 20 years, before being crushed and bought by them, great guy,he told me and my parents about all of this when we ask why his prices was lower than most glass stores
The funniest part about this was the "I'm the Adam now"
This explains why in Japan, all the optometry services are so dam cheap in comparison
