    Temple lodging in Koyasan is a unique experience. I felt purified after a night at the temple. Vegan food was great!! There is also a nice hike to do from Koyasan all the way down to Gokurakubashi Station.

    I just love this channel and been watching it for 2 years now and got so many ideas for my Japan travels so far. Already been 5x in 2.5 years in Japan. 😅 Always discovering new things, meeting new people and just love countryside. The people are soooo friendly countryside and welcoming, even if no English. Communication is always possible.
    😅 Too bad am not living in Japan, would so much apply for a job with Japan guide. Hehe
    Also myself discovered a lot of new hidden places for hiking and cycling in Japan. 😬
    You all have always great introductions of Japan way of life. 👏👏👏👏😁

    Wondering why you did the video of Koyasan again, the last time with Sam, and guessing maybe because it was sponsored by Nankai railroad, none the less, this turned out to be a beautiful one as well. Though many people & organizations do Japan trip videos on youtube, yours got the most professional quality. I just wish they could be a little longer. Understanding most youtube watchers got short span of concentration, you can make a little longer video once a while as long as your budget allows you to do so. BTW always I think that Koyasan's dinner is too extravagant as a temple meal even they do not contain any fish or meat.

    what time did you visit the locations? It didn't look to be very crowded, which is great. I am under the impression that all those temples in the mountains attract many visitors and can be crowded. Booking a place to spend the night needs to be done very early on. Is it true?

    When, what month or season, did you visit this place? Is the climate with high humidity? Do you have private bathroom at temple lodging? Thank you so much for sharing!

    • @japanguide
      @japanguide  4 года назад +1

      Hi! We filmed at Koyasan at the beginning of October, it was unusually humid and hot the day we filmed at Kansai Airport, but then up the mountain and in Sakai it was a very enjoyable weather (not too hot or cold, with lower levels of humidity). If humidity is a bit of a problem for you we definitely recommend avoiding summer, which can be particularly difficult.
      Regarding the temple lodging, the one we stayed at had a shared bathroom, but some temple lodgings have the option of a private bathroom.

    03:42 that guy in eternal meditation in the mausoleum. Wondering if someone has enough so the body functions are fulfilled (shelter, food), then if this person can sit his entire life in eternal, permanent meditation. Or if this stuff about eternal meditation is again only a myth (a bond like in the matrix). ^^
