for people not familiar with this type of drones:
these are selfbuilt.
you cant simply buy it in a store.
used parts are mostly written in the title.
you dont learn to fly them in a week. it takes months/years.
researching is a constant part of this hobby.

I've always wondered if an EDF quad was possible - this thing is incredible!!!
I don't know if you have seen any other FPV videos but compared to them the flying characteristics don't look incredible. Can't say anything about the efficiency. The sound is cool though, compared to other similar prop sizes it's a low lower pitched.
Buy that
Possible, sure. But not very effective.
wow, didn't think you were interested in fpv drones
@@EinzigfreierName Seems pretty effective to me!
I love how this feels more like a UFO than a normal quad. I also love seeing the outrunners spinning underneath the ducts.
The most amazing is that you're flying it LOS (not FPV) AND filming it at the same time(I guess with an action cam on your head). Got my respect.
same thought - (not to mention his neat built) rare gift indeed!
I kind of hate you because of how great of a pilot you are - if I had something that fast I would be going on a long hike to find it in no time. No real hate just jealous...lol
I think the correct word is "Envy" and not "hate" ,
I kind of get what your are saying though, coz you are not the alone one with that feeling. His flying skills are just crazy
@@blank001 thats cause area51 trained him
@@blank001with practice, you can do the same.
What's incredible is your piloting ability, your situational awareness, thank you for sharing, you are a God among insects! All your videos are stuffed with astounding skill.

a:
The specifications you provided refer to different components of an electric powered model aircraft or drone. Here's what each part means:
QF2611: This is likely a model number or identifier for a specific brushless electric motor.
4000kv: The "kv" rating refers to the number of RPMs (revolutions per minute) that a motor will generate per volt when not under load. A 4000kv motor will generate approximately 4000 RPMs for each volt applied to it.
50mm: The size of the motor, specifically the diameter of the stator (the stationary part of the motor).
EDF (Electric Ducted Fan): An electric ducted fan unit is a type of electric motor that drives a ducted fan to produce thrust. These are commonly used in electric powered model aircraft and drones.
Fettec: This is a brand name or manufacturer of the electric ducted fan unit.
AIO (All-In-One): This typically refers to a compact and integrated electronic speed controller (ESC) and flight controller that is designed to control the motor and manage flight functions for a model aircraft or drone.
35A: The maximum continuous current rating for the ESC. This is the maximum amount of electrical current that the ESC can handle without damage.
4S 1300: The battery pack configuration, specifically a 4-cell (4S) Lithium Polymer (LiPo) battery pack with a nominal voltage of 13.2V (4S = 4 x 3.7V) and a capacity of 1300 milliampere-hours (mAh).
120C: The maximum discharge rate of the battery pack, expressed in Celsius. A discharge rate of 120C means the battery is capable of discharging at a rate of 120 times its capacity, or 120 x 1300mAh = 156,000 milliamps.
50mm is the diameter of the EDF rotor. otherwise correct.
It's Coulomb, not Celsius 🤣
@@quadmovr did you have to use counter rotating motors? Or are they all clockwise?
A mad scientist in all the best ways. You’re quite the innovator and one helluva pilot. Thanks for sharing it all with us!
Love how industrial and utilitarian this drone looks.
You are hands-down one of the top Line of sight quad mover i’ve ever seen ,keep up the great work!
that's a flying object in my dream.Look at the efficiency of that craft,so incredible.
Impressive Lil quad you made and piloting skills. Especially the part where you flew it back towards yourself in a smooth fashion and it just hovers in front. It's like a scene right out of those 3d cad made animations in a movie.
for real tho
Omg!!!!!! This is absolutely amazing. ! Not only that you’ve created it but The edf’s are so well balanced.
How you keep LOS orientation is beyond me. Impressive!
The trust and pickup on that thing is incredible! I could only imagine what a larger scale drone version like this could do for extremely fast last mile delivery.

You are a bad bad man. That is insane Bow down to the king of quads. You sir are a hell of a pilot and one hell of a builder. Hats off to you sir.
At first was like okay, seems to work, then it took off like a bat outa hell! :D awesome build
Didn’t expect that much power, handles beautifully
that thing can definitely do the kessel run in 12 parsecs
That is the best quad I have ever seen. So fast, and maneuverable. I've never seen one that fast. Great Video 📹 👍 👏 👌 🙌
You joking bro you're on the wrong video, check all this guys videos to
watch literally every other video on his channel🤣
You’re working so hard, may all your wishes come true.
Beautifully executed project. I am at the last stages of building something very very similar and I found you while waiting for the prints. Mine is 63.5mm 5 blade with optimal duct design but use case is mostly indoor slow fly throughs. I just wanted to increase efficiency but it ended up being 2 month long project and countless hours of articles to consume. What you do here on this channel is ton more impressive than what people think and I really appreciate you sharing these. Thanks again.
Dude YES! It's about time someone ducted a quad. I love how everyone just threw out the decades of R&D billion dollar companies did including NASA for more efficient props back in the day and always went with open bladed drones. Especially companies claiming to be "sky Cranes". Heavy Lift Aerial Vehicles. A EDF is much more efficient, yes you lose some mobility but gain stability and higher thrust capabilities at lower RPM's. That is, if done correctly. Good on you m8. Keep it up. :D
best drone maker, best drone pilot
You're a master of silent quads. Reminds me of EVE from Wall-E...
You're right, it sounds like her!
the rolls royce of quadcopters that thing flies so gracefully
20 years from now we'll look back and say remember when they were just toys? As we fly around in a 1:1 scale.
Im literally here for research and development haha
You're not wrong there, we are already on the way. 👍
The FAA will never allow it
That's just what we need BMW drivers in sky..
Unreal! This could be some of those “uap ufo” sightings. The speed and direction change is beyond normal quads.
Most excellent build!
The latest and greatest design for freak outs and ufo sightings.
Exactly what I was thinking.
Oh man, that is amazing. I was thinking, good luck with the spool up on an EDF, but I've rarely been this happy to be wrong about something. That is fantastic. You have answered a question I have been wondering about for the last 8 years.
Holy smokes! That thing sounds like a freakin’ airplane!
The whole vid, I'm thinking "how does it yaw?". Then boom, delivered!!
Much better than ordinary drone. Marvelous mate👍👍
How quick is a EDF Quad?
EDF: yes
the speed is impressive!
It would be faster with standard motors and props. Watch some of the other videos on this channel, this isn't even that fast. EDF's are just extra weight for no gain, bigger motors to carry it all and less flight time. There is a reason almost no one does it anymore.
Impressive speed??? ..... Quadmovr be like "Hold my lager"

@@Chris-xo2rq Has indoor safety benefits
@@TheSecretVault only thing that is not so safe is the motor hubs under the blades spinning that there can get hot if it doesn't get enough air movement
So amazingly quiet! And lots of control
Never owned a drone but i just found a good reason to do this build. 🙂
If you have never owned a drone, this is most definitely not the build for you.
Learn to fly a simulator, then a toy and work your way up to this level.
It will be cheaper in the long run.
Amazing! Did not believe it would fly
Your skills and creativity are top notch and a pleasure to watch man! Good stuff!
Flies way better than expected.
I'm assuming this is LOS flying and damn is this pilot good! And a quad with ducted fans is way better than I expected for maneuverability.
EDF quads are super rad and maneuverable! Now I want to see and EDM quad! Haha wait for the drop!
Sums up every ufo agility question for me.
This is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen
The next time a UFO person tells me "nothing human made can move like that..." I'll show them this.
Show me one of this the size of a fighter jet, completely silent and moving with higher speeds than shown here.
This is still slow AF compared to a UFO. One I saw went invisible, then visible, did a U turn that would've turned you or this quad into dust then accelerated faster than a fast rifle bullet. edit: FAA has released radar tracks showing them doing right angles at 19,000kmh. Again, this quad is nothing compared to them.
@@N4CR Was that before or after the probing?
@@_John_P a fighter jet is as slow as it is because of the fleshy bit in the middle.

Now you just need a tiny pod and a tiny Anakin to pull behind this. Awesome skills!
Hundreds of these all with a claymore.... you know it's coming.
Get off call of duty goofy🤡
The worst part is that it might come directly from the "badies" given that this stuff is commercially available and dirt cheap compared to the price of the "regular" missiles and stuff ...
That's pretty cool but your LOS, that's so incredibly awesome. Wish I had the eyesight for it. Wow. Blown away.
It sounds like a beefier tiny whoop, which is basically what it is!
Are you flying FPV or just visual? How do you track a symmetrical looking square flying through the air visually? When I fly RC planes or helicopters it's obvious what is the nose and tail.
No propwash at all (or is it jetwash?). Flies and sounds smooth as butter. How do you even tune this thing? Bravo!
this flight was with default pids. feels pretty loose. there will be another video with slight tuning and better flying.
fanwash

i dont know why this came across my page, im not into RC/drone stuff but i think i might be now! this thing looks powerfull! so swift and nimble!!
This is insane, reminds me of the first era of quads when everyone was slapping helicopter drivetrains onto wood stick frames and trying to make it fly... How many amps does this beasty pull on a punchout?
not that much. if i remember correctly peak current was around 100-110A.

Thanks for sharing the footage, never seen anything like this before, would it be possible to attach a camera so it's possible to see the footage from the drone?
Yes
Subscribed because I’ve been looking for this.
We went back in time 6 years to make some cool jet noises with some edf’s. I’m ok with that.
Yeah, I remember a vid of some edfs multis in the past, like this tricopter which was a cooler design because IT REMAINED FLAT (servos) ruclips.net/video/RU7enkhYoxg/видео.html . I also stuck in 2014 an edf on top of the quad, but it was making my quad drop 1 meter when I was switching it on, lol ! It was a cool era of people experimenting anything cool.
Fascinating, who needs wings, all you need is four motors to fly. I've seen people trying to scale up a quad for human use, while cool it just isn't practical compared to a helicopter. If we can ever build a lite power generation unit for the electric motors then we got something for human scale.
Dude make it big so that I can ride on the top of it.
What happens if you lose track of it?, no camera right so you won't have a clue where it is. Does it still have some sort of auto home feature like camera drones?
its flown fully manual, no auto rth or similar. if i loose track about its orientation it will crash. like with any other normal rc plane.
Cool project! I wonder what the all up weight is? And what is the amp draw on full throttle?
FULL THROTTLE??????? YOU MEAN THAT THING HAS VARIABLE SPEEDS????????????

@@marc_frank Why? EDFs are more efficient than normal props. Is it the drag of the ducts that decrease overall efficiency?
