  • The mini jewelry bench polisher will quickly become one of your favorite studio tools! The abrasive wheels quickly and easily clean your metal of firescale, liver of sulfur, or most other surface dirt. Polishing wheels are also available to get your metal to a satin or mirror finish. Erica will show you how to put your bench polisher together as well as how you can maintain it. She'll also demo how quickly it will clean your metal and how to get a mirror finish on your jewelry.

    Great video, lady. Good audio, excellent editing. I was looking to learn a bit about this machine, and this is the best video out there. Thanks a lot for sharing.

    Great demo. Can you adapt a lathe chuck to this machine? I am starting to polish watch cases and many have this radial brush finish and I can’t get the this finish with my Dremel tool

      I'm not sure. I would look at Gesswein for the wheel that you need - they have a huge selection of finishing wheels for both dremels and polishing machines, and might have something.

    do you have any tips for getting the buffs off the machine? Trying to hold the spindles while unwinding a buff isn't working very well for me.

    • @HalsteadJewelrySupplies
      @HalsteadJewelrySupplies  Год назад

      Hi, holding the spindles and unwinding the buff is typically how it's done. You can try holding the spindle with a tool for better leverage, just be sure you're not damaging it. Sometimes it just takes a few tries because the wheels are on there tight.

    Great video! Thank you, how would you polish something really small? Like a 9mm 14k gold fill disc?

    • @HalsteadJewelrySupplies
      @HalsteadJewelrySupplies  3 года назад +1

      Glad you found it helpful! When polishing GF items I always use a polishing cloth that is safe for gold items or a soft child’s toothbrush with dawn soap. It must be a soft toothbrush or you could scratch up the gold-filled material.

    Wich Is the name of the blue Machine ?

    • @HalsteadJewelrySupplies
      @HalsteadJewelrySupplies  Год назад

      You're welcome. The blue part that goes around the bench polisher is called a hood. It sucks the dust away while polishing. In the background of the video you will also see the enameling kiln, which is blue.

    Where can I buy ? I have been looking and haven't had any luck

    Hi there. I just got one of these and the machine worked for a minute, but then it started to sputter and stopped spinning. I also notice there were sparks on the inside of the machine. I purchased mine from a different online seller but they will not respond to me. Was wondering if you can tell me what is wrong and how to fix it? I posted a video on my youtube page.

      HI Jared, I'm so sorry to hear that! Unfortunately I can't diagnose your issue from over here, but I would keep trying to reach out to the seller, or go directly to the manufacturer. You definitely want to make sure your spindles are tightened on, and you mentioned the motor brushes in your video but because the machine is brand new they shouldn't need to be replaced. Best of luck!

    Hi. lve watched a video saying if I have the key way on my shaft (the flat surface), I have to align the set screw opposite of the flat surface (meaning the round surface). Hmm. Im confused. Can you confirm this?

      @HalsteadJewelrySupplies  3 года назад

      Hi Donna, we'd recommend speaking with either the vendor you purchased from or the manufacturer about this. Ours was setup and we don't want to give incorrect information. Thanks!

      Unfortunately Halstead no longer carries this tool. It is available from many online retailers, such as jewelrytools.com though.

      Yes! This polisher will work for polymer clay, however you should be sure to research which buffs are right for your material.

    Is it suitable for resin jewellery polishing?

    • @HalsteadJewelrySupplies
      @HalsteadJewelrySupplies  4 года назад

      Hi! A bench polisher would work for resin polishing. Just be sure to find a polishing compound that is meant for resin.

    Does any hand sanding need to be done prior to using it?

    • @HalsteadJewelrySupplies
      @HalsteadJewelrySupplies  5 лет назад +1

      Hi! Thanks for the question. No, you typically won't need to do any hand sanding. You can use the abrasive wheel (2 come with the machine) to clean up any firescale or scratches, then move over to the mirror side for the high polish. I find they look great when doing that. However, deep scratches may need hand sanding.

      Hi! Due to the hardness of a diamond, we're not sure if this bench polisher would be right for that.

      Hi! Are you referring to the dust collector hood? This particular one we sold did not come with it included, it was sold separately. However, this item is no longer available from Halstead - though www.jewelrytools.com/ has one available.
