I like the pattern but I didn't get it right with a multiple of 13. After counting and re- counting the stitches, it's a multiple of 11 (+2) in the beginning row ( starting chain). 😡

I agree multiples of 13 did not work and the original shoulder measurement plus 4 inches was not quite enough to wrap around and sit nicely at the front for a XL
Now doing 2nd try. It is an easy pattern once you get the hang of it

I think this is a repeat of 11 + 2 for the starting chain. I can't get the first setup row to work with a multiple of 13. The hdc row works as a multiple of 13, however, since the count is different between the DCs. I had to stop the video and count how the rows relate to each other.
I couldn’t make it work with a multiple of 13 either. The DC row didn’t add up at the end of the row. I ended up trying your method of 11 + 2 at the end and the pattern worked. Thank you for your comment🌸

The pattern count is a multiple of 13, meaning every floral curve you see ply works with 13 stitches. We need a multiple of 13 stitches but also , it should be close shoulder measurements. ( doesn’t have to be exact)
Very nice pattern!! I have just started and tried bigger size but what confuses me a bit is the row of half double crochets you did at the end of your back panel at about 24:34. You did 12 inches for your back panel and then before starting the two front panels you did a row of half double crochets. This row is missing! I don't know how many half double crochets I have do put into each pattern of 13 stitches??
I turned my back panel upside down. So I am working the HDC in the already existing HDC on our back panel ( very 1st row of the back panel). Just work 1 HDC in each stitch . If you look at the work, you will notice the panels are facing down . This means 1st row for all panels including back panel is what is at the shoulder top. Basically 1 HDC in every stitch

Right, this is not working for me. The back is fine but the front pattern is not lining up with the back pattern. The stitch count is not working out and I have tried half a dozen times. Cannot for the life of me figure out what has gone wrong so I quit
You could just do the front panels separately ( just like you did with the back panel only smaller) and attach them instead of working directly if that’s the problem.
I live in the USA and I am wondering what weight this yarn is. I cannot purchase it from Amazon so I want to get something similar here in the states
