- Start your day off right with this serious breakfast bun served with velvet cheddar scrambled eggs, avocado & maple black pepper bacon. Serves: 4
Ingredients (US & METRIC):
12 slices streaky smoked bacon
1 tsp olive oil
2 tsp maple syrup
Good grinding of fresh black pepper
6 free range eggs, whisked
2 tsp double cream
20g/ ¼ stick unsalted butter, plus extra to spread
30g/ ⅓ cup cheddar cheese, grated
4 Arnold, Oroweat, Brownberry Sweet Multigrain buns
1 large avocado, sliced
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper

You make scrambled eggs the same way that my mom makes them. What a funny coincidence!😂 Also, the maple bacon with black pepper is such a good idea, because it adds a bit of sweetness and little bit of bite and it's just all together delicious. Ah, I love a good breakfast sandwich in the morning.🥓

Oh Thank you! This is going to be easy and so delicious can't wait making it this weekend. 😋 right now I use a brioche bun and put fried eggs ( broken yoke) with heirloom tomatoes sliced thin. As a treat I buy the heirloom blue/green eggs at a nearby farm, the yokes are dark orange with a little feta on top of eggs. Your recipe with maple bacon-black pepper sounds awesome ❤💙

Reminded me of the time just before I left home and had a crash cooking course from my mother. Her scrambled eggs were loved by many! The butter in the pan, and allowing it 'to catch' before starting to stir. Her secret to a good scramble was that if you cook it until you think it is just right - it will be way overdone by the time it gets to the table. Like you, she never cooked them beyond sloppy. Now I always scrambled th eggs, but if they are for her, she no longer supervises!
Donal, I approve of butter being used in every dish.
I have Fried Eggs for breakfast but then I added Lay’s Masala Chips and it’s a heavenly combo.

Don't understand this form of "crispy" bacon? Its not crispy at all - Crispy bacon breaks into shattered bits when u drop it and doesn't get stuck in between your teeth while eating, like this one does when you taste tested it
That is NOT crispy bacon. Crispy bacon isn't limp and bendy
I am not saying that this does not look delicious just that I have some mental blocks in place. I would not put treacle onto bacon. I once saw someone put a fried egg of a pancake with equal revulsion. Scrambled eggs need eggs and heat. Nothing else. This was a wet cheese ommlette. All still very tasty but...
