@@koreymayo8884 Good idea 👍 ....I think in a tune they can lower it at least on the forums I read BNR can set it in the ECM I guess those elec connection on the stat control it at the ECM ...man now I want to port my intake ...I had it out and I was like ????? I guess I could had done it and got a used one from the boneyard if I failed smog ..maybe next weekend I'm going to port it .
@@TheThirdWheel618 not sure about BNR, but it ZZP tune they told me they lower the radiator fan temps, but not sure if they adjust the thermostat temps or not.
@@koreymayo8884 I just got a bulletin yesterday about the rubber diaphram on the valve cover they called that the pcv now it's a warranty recall if it fails I have a 13 Sonic RS , not the intake with rubber check valve yet tho .. I ordered to ZZP coil pack a cheap Amazon /eBay catch can , a forge blowoff valve for fun to hear the pssst swoosh / ... I might port the intake soon although I have a trifecta tune called the turbo advantage it's a tune for completely stock Sonic not sure if it would thro that off or not ....at first I thought they pulled a fast one since I have the auto with paddle shifter I can hold shifts longer and play with the down shifts , I thought they just extended my shift RPM range and called it a tune . But even with that it pulls pretty hard I don't know what they did but they told me it don't change emmisions , so porting might change the tune it's pretty cool you press the cruise control and it lights up white not green then your in stock mode press it off now your in tune mode .
A bit off topic, but I seen you commented on another video about upgrading to the sonic thermostat? I tried to find that video again to reference what years you said and I couldn’t find it. I have a 2011 Cruze 1.4. I just installed a low mileage motor in it and I hav e seen nothing but overheating issues with these cars and I remember you saying something about the sonic using a lower temp thermostat. Would I just got with a 2011 sonic thermostat? Or did they upgrade the thermostat in newer years of the Cruze? Any help would be very appreciated, thanks.
I've been talking quite extensively on this subject with someone on you tube the thing is you can use a Sonic thermostat I think 2016 and up.haveva lower opening rate mine runs hot 2013 RS Sonic it has a 217 thermostat I seen the 2016 Sonic has a 203 degree thermostat . I'm thinking of changing mine to 2016 203 degree or possibly lower to 198 I think 2017 Sonic stat . I heard one you tuber used a Chevy volt thermostat with a 176 opening rate although the housing is different you can take the thermostat out if the housing and swap them out to the housing for your year .
Ha ha that was your channel and your post I'm commenting I been talking to someone about engine temps and changing thermostats it was you I was talking too.i thought I was on another video ....man sometimes you feel like a nut lol ....
Chevy volt thermostat opens at 176 degrees and you have to take it out of its housing and put it into the first gen cruze thermostat housing. Second gen cruzes already run colder 175-180 degree thermostats. I have a video on doing the swap.
@@koreymayo8884 really ???? Hmm 🤔 I'm not doubting you but I did some runs with a new ultra gauge before I ported my intake so I would know the numbers such as AFR , Boost , HP, Tourqe Etc also I have the trifecta turbo advantage tune for about 5 years now . After porting the manifold in stock tune it goes too rich to fast if you floor it , were it was a gradual increase un ported I did hard pulls at WOT both stock and trifecta tune in ported now ported it's a turd ..the ECU will go as low as 0.68 that is 10 rich on a wide band on my gauge around 0.74 was were max power output was that's around 11.5 or 11.8 ...at WOT so porting for me in my case after doing the pre ported runs I lost power do to the way the ECU responds to the extra flow . I'm looking into what tunes people got after they ported the trifecta tune handles the porting better but IMO no better than it did before I ported it at 3/4 throttle it loses its bark it needs fine tuning I would recommend porting and tuning for sure but I just don't see un tuned power with a ported intake .
Nope. Also did a big 3 wire kit at the same time to improve the electrical system of the whole car and now the car has better throttle response, more power and pulls harder when accelerating! Also 1 MPG better on the highway now.
I like the ZZP ported manifold I think they should had thrown in the PCV fix for the price ..
I also talked to ZZP and told them to sell the chevy volt thermostat as a colder thermostat/ upgrade for first gen cruze owners, but they never did.

Definitely a night and day difference
I would like to see the difference on a Dyno ...
All I'd like to know is what happens with the fuel mileage with the extra HP? Mine gets 30-35.
hello ı just wonder that is this applying throw any error codes or erratic idle can be occured ?
Can you show me how your catch can can do? Thanks . Astra j 14net user:)

Does the car have to be tuned for this I have trifecta
Nope. I'm still not tuned and no issues just gives you more power.

Just uploaded a new video
I like zzp but I’m not paying 300$ usd for a ported manifold. When I can do it myself. Low key a rip off honestly. Only thing I didn’t buy from them.
Does this fit a sonic rs 1.4L 2018
Yep
