    Just a tip for the fuel injector connectors. You can just push in on those clips. They spread out when pushed in and allow you to pull the connector out at the same time. Just so you dont have to deal with the possibility of losing them

      Damn that is very beneficial information! thank you for that!

      Did you mean you can just put the clip on the fuel injectors and they will secure themselves when you seat them? That’s what I noticed.

    Thanks for the upload, I found it quite useful. I have the ZZP Intake, PCV and Catch Can and Turbo Cover to install. I can't believe that GM did nothing about the damn PCV design and a little 1/2 cent nipple caused such a big issue.

    Thank you so much for this! My GF has a 2017 Sonic and currently she's dealing with the dreaded p0171 code. Gonna be doing ZZP's Aluminum valve cover and the pcv fix. Your video is super easy to follow and gonna make the install painless haha.

    Well done. A shortcut is to remove the fuel rail and injectors from the intake before removing the intake. No need to depressurize the fuel lines, since you do not break the line. The fuel line, rail, and injectors can be moved out of the way intact.

    • @regulatormachine2788
      @regulatormachine2788 Месяц назад +1

      and with the injector rail removed, it's so much easier to get the manifold in and out!

    Well now I have some new toys to look into for my 15 sonic. I've slowly but surely been replacing all the plastic parts with aluminum parts, just wish chevy would have done this instead of the plastic pieces that eventually go bad after a few years.

    • @EverythingAvron
      @EverythingAvron  10 месяцев назад +1

      100% true.. this little hot running engine eats these plastic pieces up in a few years seems like haha. the plastics are a maintenance item it seems

    Great video. Helped me throw on the zzp pcv upgrade. Only thing i did differently on fuel injectors was top and bottom seals. I'll use this easy to follow video again when if i get the ported intake manifold. Thanks!

  • @SMILEY.45
    @SMILEY.45 9 месяцев назад

    If you take the cowling for the windshield wipers off it gives you a little bit more room. It is just two pieces that slide together so it's easy to get in and out

    I put on the PCV fix kit and manifold spacer on my Sonic before i could afford the ZZP manifold. It was a pain. Not looking for to replacing the intake manifold but it has to be done eventually.

    Does anybody know where to find some of those metal pins that’s in the hose he’s holding at 21:43 ? My Cruze is leaking oil thru the hose cause the pin is all bent and a mess

  • @SonicSouz
    @SonicSouz 4 месяца назад +1

    Their kit is simply sucking oil out of the valve cover and back into the turbo. I've been running their kit for 2 months and have found 2/3rds of the oil is just gone, sucked in through the unfiltered hose from the oil cap to the turbo inlet.

    i wasnt sure how the 1.4 manifold was made, the 1.8 manifold doesnt have those parts that were removed from yours as they have adjustable intake runners, its a similar idea but further inside with an electric actuator.

    Excellent video explanation you did. I have similar vehicle problems 2014 Chevy Cruze Lt and have 2 questions. Does the new zz ported intake manifold that has the orange 🍊 check valve inside more improved for it not to fall off like factory one? Or can the orange check valve be replaced without taking off the whole intake manifold? I know they sell cruzekit but wanted to keep it all factory if possible. Thanks for the video and any feedback appreciated

    Curious how you think you’re improving efficiency by installing a manifold that removes turbulence tumblers which improve atomization of fuel, and increasing the crack pressure of the check valve in the vacuum pcv path to where nearly half of all vacuum conditions are no longer applying crankcase vacuum and therefore not assisting in piston ring seal on the low tension piston rings.
    You’re making more power, but efficiency has gone down.

    Excuse me if this is a dish question but how does “ opening up the airflow “ in those ports improve fuel mileage? Also wouldn’t this modification “ lean “ things out requiring more fuel flow?

  • @rigilkentaurus3313

    So the manifold is the same with a little material removed? Why not just remove that material yourself? It's plastic and it would take like 30 minutes.

    Question?:
    Instead of having everything get collected in the catch can can't it just be diverted into the oil cap? And also won't the intake manifold check valve get clogged after time cause of the size of the opening?

  • @TEPL1
    @TEPL1 4 месяца назад

    Did the ported intake manifold throw any lean engine codes? I figure more air but the same amount of fuel may show as too lean.

    • @charleslowe522

      The oil catch can should fix for the Cruze, I think you have to specify when you purchase Cruze or Sonic.

    What about the orange check valve that’s down in the intake manifold? Does the ported one delete that or is it already sealed off?

    • @EverythingAvron
      @EverythingAvron  Год назад +1

      If it’s the one I think your talking about… it’s still there. Just new

    • @kylevanwinkle2081
      @kylevanwinkle2081 11 месяцев назад +1

      That's what the spacer does it deletes that air path and reroutes it to the catch can which has an upgraded check valve.
      I prefer the cruzekits pcv fix kit as it doesn't need the spacer or catch can. I may in the future do the ported intake but this is a commuter car so unless the factory one fails I doubt I'll spend extra on parts. Thankfully the valve covers are cheap and easy to swap considering the vacuum regulating valve fails daily often on these cars

    How did you
    Manage to get the connectors loose from underneath the car? I can’t get anything on the clips as my needle nose is to small.. don’t I have to squeeze them then pull?

    • @erikfraenkel9365
      @erikfraenkel9365 6 месяцев назад

      Had a much easier time taking the clips off back while I was able to twist the manifold and get at them with a needle nose and pry out, thanks for showing that they are supporting it and that they need to be removed to come out. Currently just got it out and following your video 🙏 going to be nice with the Bosch 42 and bigger throttle body

    the pvc kit is to fix what issue?

    • @EverythingAvron
      @EverythingAvron  10 месяцев назад +1

      The factory pcv system for these cars is notorious to fail and cause ventilation issues and crank case pressure issues ultimately causing valve cover leaks amongst other issues. so this kit helps prevent that and allows for a collection point for all the blow by that occurs on these lil engines. It greatly increases the reliability and longevity of your PVC system.

      Nope no tune needed!

    • @charleslowe522
      @charleslowe522 11 месяцев назад

      No tune needed, but with the ported manifold if you decide to you could get a tune along with new 72# valve springs. Helps raise the rev limiter, but in an automatic car not sure how much that helps.
