Filmed in a cryptic cavern in Appalachia, Cuckoo is a traditional folk song that Leah and Chloe learned from their mother and her band The Rosin Sisters. This full band version highlights the connection between the many styles of music (blues, west african, irish) that blended together in Appalachia while bringing it to a more modern and rhythmic arena. Capturing the magic and mischief of some of the inspirational figures in Rising Appalachia's life, Cuckoo is an old song with new resonance.
This song is dedicated to Whitlock Connah, Leah and Chloe's godfather, who was a fine harmonica player and folk sculptor as well as a deep soul man down in Georgia. He was one of the first people to encourage the sisters to sing and pursue music, and for that, they are forever inspired and uplifted by his spirit.

One of the best I've seen. A rich backdrop of an era u can literally slip into and be in the room with as the kaleidoscope of humans not only perform masterfully at their own art, I even got attached to each one. So good, so sweet for this cuckoo. 😍

Bravo! I am all in, this is the most invigorating music and music video I have come across in a very very long time! The creativity of the video presentation along with the quality of the filming, and most of all the talent of the musicians and the singers and all the actors in the video were astounding. I have played music for 55 years and I was blown away with the musicianship of the band. There’s such beauty in music when it’s not played beyond a comfortable sound level. This is beautiful and I am addicted!

Mountain people . I live in the Mountains of Brazil and sometimes I can notice so many similarities between the profile os those people. But the great advantage of having this Celtic / Gaelic musical root as an inheritance, there is nothing to compare. My Grandpa was from Scotland, and i have this good taste in my veins.

I like this color palette, and the 1920s style, real instruments and real musicians. I think musicians are very complicated people out of all the artistic fields. I'm fascinated by that archetype. I'm a painter and writer, and have no interest in creating music, at all. But, music is a big part of my life, and I have been listening to a handful of artists for the last two decades in order to understand their music, philosophy and message. Bob Dylan is of course on that list, as well as a few others, but Dylan is my recent exploration. I listen to the same CD for months, alternatively, switching and shuffling, music I collected for years. I don't do I tunes. I have a great sound system that goes all over my house with multiple stereo so that I get the full concert experience. no other form of entertainment at my house. only sound.

Wow I've really enjoyed the evolution from fireside jam to duo acoustic and now full band well produced with theme video. Love it !!! Would like to see your song stand up speak out be loud with full band. Seeing you both play a multitude of instruments in different genres I really appreciate knowing you could just play using techniques difficult for most but instead allow for feeling and other musicians to bring your music and covers to life. Mixing songs and videos from awesome duets to Orchestrating and being just a member of the band.
