Saddle bag get dirt faster. All mud rainwater from rear tyre spray to it. In that point of view tail bag is good.
Tail bad get dirty too in such circumstances

I use tail bag and following are disadvantages
Looks big and messy
After riding for long you start cursing urself for buying tail bag .. it’s difficult to get on the bike
Mounting and removing takes some time especially if there is no sunlight
Won’t recommend tail bag unless there is no other option . Saddle stay is always advisable for saddle bag to avoid touching silencer or tyre

Tail bag fasting is very time consuming process.
When you reach destination again you have to unmount and it's very difficult to carry such huge and heavy bag up to the room.
I personally faced this problem.
One advantage is it's support my back very well.
You are check viaterra which has dry bag in it ...once you reach the destination just take out the dry bag and good to go

main biking brotherhood ka tail bag use karta hu jab bhi long drive par jata hu or same yahi issue ata hai jo bataya hai apne bike par chadte or utrate huye, but saddle bag ka bhi ek issue hai kabhi kabhi saddle bag long drive par tyre ke bahut pass aa jate hai jo bahut danger ho jata hai. wo issue tail bag mein nahi ata.
Saddle stay use karo for saddle bags tho tension nehi

I am using Via terra tail bag since long. With saddle bag you have to use saddle stay to avoid rubbing the bag with tyres

@@TigerKoul i may have to agree on this may be(ofcourse my experience on these is very minimal), as i have cb350 hness and in my previous ride the rain cover of saddle bag got torn out as there's no saddle stay, which is why im planning for a tail bag now as i feel its a bit cost friendly, like rather than spending on the bag and rails(thank you for posting a video on this it's informative) yet i need to agree that i didn't have any stability issues with them though i was riding ghat roads and im able to do cornerings too😁😅, is there really stability issues with tail bags other than more weight on us while coming down on my bike?, point to be noted is i have a pillion too and a tail carrier so im used of weight🤷♀

Still confused between tailbag vs saddle bag for my first leg ride with a group . I am ok with few dry fit clothes and love travelling light .. have an Honda Hness..

If the contents are very limited then if you ask me i would personally suggest you not to but any of them. You can just pack them in your good sized back pack and travel and even tie it up on your back seat. That's how i use when ye travelling too light. I then cover it (in case not carrying on shoulder) with my bike cover for rain and dust. You can though go for less capacity tail bag or saddle bags so that empty space does not show up badly from outside but then will you buy another set in case you want to pack more stuff beyond the capacity purchased already. So it's up to you. I have seen people keeping two capacity size and using as per be content

Hey I have seen a guy removing his seat ( triumph bonneville) and putting the saddle bag on either side (so that the middle connecting band is under the seat) and then installed the seat again, is it good to do so? i think it is more secure from falling down right?
