My first Betta, a colorful Koi Plakat, moved into my aquarium two days ago. 🙂He is a picky eater, but not as I expected. He really likes pellets, as long as they are big enough for him to see (for example Dennerle Betta Booster and Hikari Betta bio gold). He doesn't eat frozen red and black mosquito larvae. He also ignores white mosquito larvae and adult Artemia from StreamBiz (which are in a preservative solution). The fish in my other tank will eat all the food, so it hasn't gone bad. Is it common for Bettas not to eat frozen food? 🤔My pet store is getting fresh live food in two days. I'm going to buy a pack of live red mosquito larvae and I'm curious to see if he will eat them. 😂
No, most bettas eat frozen food in my experience. But I have seen many bettas that are picky and avoid frozen food. I hope you are unfreezing over 5mins before dropping them to betta tank. Try live worms.
@@aquadiaryofficial I cut a small piece of the cube, put it in a sieve, hold it under the tap and let cool water run over it until it has unfrozen completely. Today I bought live red bloodworms. He ate them immediately. 👍

You shouldn’t be feeding bettas flakes, they easily bloat bettas. Your giving our poor information
It depends on the brand and quality, some flakes have wheat flour, gluten. They must be avoided. I agree, flaked are least preferred option for betta. Thanks for pointing out.
I'm sorry but all of those foods you've mentioned contain fillers and meals, which isn't good for your fish. Another thing Bettas are one of the more expensive fish here in Australia and you're saying "betta" wrong. It's pronounced "better" not "baiter"

@@FactsCountdown Fluval bug bites (contains only black soldier fly larvae) Aqua natural freeze dried Mysis Shrimp, Aqua dried blood worm (I crush these as it's easier for them to eat) Fluval bug bites tropical are also good.
Sometimes for a treat I will feed live blackworms.
