A man believes that the spirits of two murdered children are trying to communicate to him their killer's identity through his autistic daughter, after they find an antique device in their basement that the previous owner allegedly stole from Thomas Edison

This was made for TV in the early cable years, so they couldn't get away with too much.
The tv show Hill Street Blues, is the first time they were able to show a nude butt on primetime basic cable television. It was Detective Sipowitz in the shower.😊 Everyone said it would be a slippery slope, I guess that proved true.

I need chocolate cake, chocolate ice cream, some magic shell and salted caramel and some Lindors chocolates to deal with my depression over that now. Ugh.... i'll need some milk to cry into... i just realized i watched this movie new on vhs with my husband with our giant boat anchor 42" tube tv we had that was also new.. we where newly weds.. God i feel old. Im off to go get the mandatory chocolate hoard for woman that feel old for the first time... im gonna skip tight sexy dress and to much make-up glamming up to make myself fill better and go straight to the heavy stuff. 😫😭 thanks so much Tray! 😩😢😭🤧

This movie is very great, scary and thrilling! Simple yet very suspenseful. Very unpredictable! I've always liked all the old movies way better than the current ones nowadays.
It's always the older scary movies that are far better than the current ones.

What a strange & kinda magical story...for me, the autistic girl child is the main protagonist. Was a surprise when the killer was finally revealed. Love how it came out good in the ending. Interesting all along held interest. Was especially rewarding to see a family really in tune with each other positively. Thank you.
A good movie ,with good old family values with that elusive twist at the end, great old stuff.
This turned out to be a pretty good movie. I wasn't sure I'd get into it in the first 2 or 3 minutes, but it was worth watching.

Blooper. The camera was zooming down on the house and the convertible car with the top open. Then went in where the parents were talking and dad says he's leaving. He opens the door and walks outside and the convertibles top is suddenly up. This movie was a good watch and kept me interested the entire time.

Movies and tv shows of the late 70’s, the whole decade of the 80’s and the early 90’s were classic.Movies and tv shows now have no originality and constantly try to copy the nostalgia of those times but never seem to grasp the concept that the originals are always best and one of a kind.Thanks for the upload by the way. It’s the first I have heard of this one and will be a first watch for me.Nice to find another movie from my favorite years that I wasn’t aware of !👍

Damn good film, even for the time. No special effects to speak of, just a gradual building of suspicion and tension. No blood, no gore, just good plot and acting. Thank you for the upload.
p.s. The intruders is good too, if you haven't seen it, I recommend it.

I agree, but with another type of mother. Barbara Sukowa is awful. I don't understand why they chose her. If they wanted an actress from abroad, why not one that truly can play a mother's role, instead of this communist hardliner?

The young boy sure looks like a clone of "Cold Play" guy. Have an autistic gr son close to girl in movie so made a more interest/enjoyment from this watch. Not usually drawn to the paranormal but it definitely added to the story.

Autistic children/people are very smart. I have 3. My daughter in particular is very in tune with her spiritual side. She talks about heaven and god often. People we can’t see also. We aren’t religious as such. It’s important to remember that even without speech and normal development these kids understand language. One of mine doesn’t speak but he is very smart and communicates in other ways.
I love this movie
We have trouble to understand the language the way it is. I often hear completely different thing that was said I do not know why, but I started to use sign language it is a lot simple and these mixed massages are avoid.
I never actually have met an autistic person that is mute. is it common?

I love movies made before 2000. Seems after that year the acting went downhill. Instead of good story lines they all became the same. Guns, sex, drugs, murder damsel in distress movies. And now they don’t have much for made for tv movies. It’s all reality tv.

I hope I don't upset you .But have you seen any of the paranormal videos on U Tube ?Where ppl use baby monitors and say they saw a ghost in the baby's room .It's just so sad just for money they use there little ones . But this show they don't they have it where the parents care .I'm just saying good movie .✌️💙🙏

I used to own this film in a DVD pack that included The Fear Chamber, Marked, and Passed The Door To Darkness. I remember seeing this and being into it but too young to really enjoy it for what it is. So I found it today on RUclips and am rewatching it with a modern view and....wow, this really is a remarkable little film. Right there with films like Wicked Little Things and The Others.
Enjoyed this one. Ma y made for t.v movies from 80sand 90s are better than Hollywood blockbusters of today. Great story line here.

Nice movie. Although I guessed the killer early on, that didn't make it any less enjoyable. The lovely house and surrounds alone were worth watching.
One unsolved mystery was why the mother wore a string of pearls in almost every scene, even when dressed in jeans and flannels. It seemed oddly eccentric for a woman in this day and age, and I kept wondering if the script would explain it. Was it a wedding gift, a family heirloom? Did she have some connection to the old woman? But no. I guess the wardrobe department just thought a string of pearls would look nice.

well i tried to watch it but it did not hold my attention. i got to 47 mins and was not watching it so i started it again but it's same thing. i'm not saying it was boring, it might be me just not paying attention. But for now i'm finding a different one. maybe if a different one can hold my attention i might give it another go later.
