- In this Cities Skylines How To Guide build, I show you how to setup a Subway line with Local & Express Service on 3 tracks like in New-York City. I will use my 4 different Blueprints for Subway/Metro Stations as a base for that!

I miss this type of public transportation management in Cities Skylines II...
Well maybe cause cs1 been released over 8yrs ago and have multiple DLCs etc
CS1 on start was boring af, without DLCs and mods this game is medium
@@Dar1usz Sure but even the developer played with DLC and Mods, why didn't bring it in the beginning of the game?
because every DLC require different mechanics@@kallisdesportiva its a slow process of adding something and not destroying game / code in same time.
@@kallisdesportiva Some of the DLC from Cities: Skylines was brought to the base game in C:SII. For example, trams, snow, day/night cycle, etc.
@@Dar1usz CS1 WAS NOT boring on release my guy. It was fking revolutionary.
CS2 is a straight up scam and lying to their audience
You know it’s over when imperatur makes modded cities 1 content
Well, well...look who is back playing CS1.
Yess😋😋
This is the 1st instance of 3 track usage for subway in CS1 that I've seen. For those that love NYC this adds a dimension of building those transit routes that utilize a 3 track elevated configuration. Astethically it's great. The issue comes in trying to realistically apply its usage within CS1. The express track is used for peak direction express service which is between a certain time period of time during a 24 hour day. Since CS1 splits between day and night service you'll end up with express service all day and all night. I'm sure those are minute details that can be overlooked but for those that want as close to realism it means alot. Either way if you have these published to the workshop I'm definitely getting them.
This game kicks ass of CS 2.0 so much. Imagine CSL 1 with the road tools from CS 2.0 and we have the perfect game.
True:)
So Last Angeles was not the Last. We welcome this New York new series!!!
One alternative for increasing express capacity might be to simply have the same stops as the other, but connecting more switches towards the middle express lane.
Great work you should also build the junction of Mrytle Ave where the J and M split. You could establish more different services that way
There used to be an elevated railway running down Myrtle Avenue from that split to Jay Street, then turning right and going over the Brooklyn Bridge. 😲
Thing about nyc subway train they don’t use loop track at end of the line most yard are near the terminus of the line and branch in both directions into the city and towards terminants. The switches are supposed to do the job of that alongside the signals. Which can control the train position make sure they don’t crash into each other
The 2nd is how its done irl here but the triple track sections are only for a portion of the route whereas much of the line elsewhere is double tracked, the 6 and 7 trains are the most prime examples.
It would be possible to create a 3-track system with an express and several trains, it would be enough to put 4 tracks only at the stations so that they would have a "passing"
I have been planning a metro line with local and express lines for some time now that will link downtown with my airport which is still currently under construction. I do not have mods, but I do have the train stations CCP which u know has bypass and dual metro stations, perfect for express and local services.
I usually have my express stations be dual island where local and express trains have separate platforms in both directions. But then they share the same dual tracks between stations. Local stations see express trains just blow through local stations.
This means I have to monitor the inital train frequency. If I see too many expresses getting blocked by local trains, I then either delete a train to balance things or add the quad track local station so local trains can get bypassed by expresses there as well.
I've also done this same setup for trams using custom roads where express tracks are in the middle of the street in a grassy median while an extra pair runs on in mixed traffic.
Great video!
That looks fantastic.
In your last video u asked for what type of maps you should build your new york city theme be built upon. I think the two maps you should probably consider are Islands (a base game map) and Cape Apple ( A map from the Plazas and pronmades DLC).
I personally love the idea of express tracks being the side tracks and local tracks being the center tracks. That way you can build an express station as two island platforms like in the video with express trains coming on side and local trains coming at center AND you can build a local station as one island platform with local tracks being to the sides of the platform and express tracks being hidden behind the local tracks. Island platforms are better than side platforms because it allows you to just walk just a few steps to get on the other side of it if you missed your stop and have to go back
will this be a series for making metros or will you make a city too? great video btw
it's so impressive to hear your voice for the first time
Noo Yaak baby!
nice
I have a question! I’ve been watching your videos, I currently play SimCity BuildIt in the meantime I get a computer to play Cities Skylines. My question is, how did you build the city of Los Angeles with the exact buildings? Is that a mod? And did you use a map to guide yourself? Thank you 🙏🏼
what mod do you use to get the toolbar/gui transparent?
Wouldn't the Solution be for the Express Line to have two tracks between Stations and then just one track in the Station? That was the Trains can pass each other and only have to wait if there is already a train on the station track, which they AI knows how to do.
I miss this in CS II 😭😭😭
Can you please build a New York City,In Cities1 with lots of mods and Workshop New York buildings and With this train route
Bro knows American public transport better than most Americans 😂😂😂
Because Europeans are smarter on average than most Americans.
@@automation7295 that depends, I've met a lot of dumb Europeans.
Is nice to see CS1 content again!!
what stations are you using? are they avalible on workshop
they look great btw!
A station tracks can be used instead of the loop
You know CS2 is a terrible game when the RUclips player-presenters have mostly decided to go back to CS1.
And Imperatur, you've built simply the most awesome New York City 🌆🏙️ in a modded, asset-heavy CS1 game! 👏👏👏👏👍👍
I think cs2 is good for jumping into casually to build a pretty standard city, but cs1 does have way more possibilities
Is this station assist available on stream?
Where could you find the tracks and station?
whats the mod called at 3:09 in the green
Can you make another version of this but for those without mods?
Fortunate that Metro Overhaul Mod is working for you, it's broken for a lot of users now.
you could two express lines but set one to run at night and one to run in the day
What game is that
Why aren't you doing 4 tracks like how most of the system is set up? Are far as I can remember, the three tracks are in the Bronx.
Yeah maybe i will also build 4 tracks in some parts
@@imperatur NYC has a lot of quad tracks, especially in Manhattan. Triple tracks are fine for express trains that run in one direction during peak hours, but a lot of nyc's subway lines are local in some parts of the line and express in others. The 2 and 3 lines run express along 7th Avenue, the 4 and 5 lines run express along Lexington, or the B running express along 6th Avenue and the Brighton line. Most of these lines have 4 tracks with the outer being local tracks and the inner two run express.
Link to the stations used? The only ones I can find look ugly and modern
Kann man auch in cities 2 solche Assets erstellen?
Nein😂
@@imperatur wär auch zu schön gewesen endlich mal einen normalen Bahnhof zu haben😂
Or just build it in a loop so express goes one way all the way around? 😁
Ok depite cities skylines 2 being out of shape right now but god i really hope we get these in cities skylines 2 cause i really recreate nyc so bad i mean tbh don't get me wrong i wouldn't mind using the ones the game has right now as an alternative but im just saying though.
Give me a child imperatur
