- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is commonly used to treat anxiety, depression and other mental health issues. It teaches one to spot negative patterns in thinking and how to reframe thoughts in a more objective way. Other than sitting down with a psychiatrist or therapist, CBT can now be found in an Artificial Intelligence chatbot, Woebot, which is developed by psychologists at Stamford University. Will the app help 28-year-old Charles Lim manage his depressive thoughts and emotions? Gadg(AID) finds out.

One of the biggest lessons in life I have learnt is;
“Every day good things and bad things would happen to you.
Which you focus on is YOUR choice.”
Except, that's only to a certain degree. To a certain extent your mind is a machine that generates thoughts without you telling it to. If you're sick or don't practice meditation regularly, you're probably much less in control of your thoughts and than others.
If a person works every day monday to friday, week after week, year after year, and think that this is the normal life that one should be doing now and for the rest of your life as having a career is expected, its natural to have depression. that is why everyone wants to get richer and to be able to have free time and do what they want to do, instead of what people want them to do.
yeah my therapist says "just stop it."
What a great app - and I wish the man well!
“Surrounded by idiots”.
Exactly.
It’s lonely at the top.
Depression is very debilitating, and everyone experiences it differently! Also, every depressive episode can vary in symptoms! Too much stigma about it even now in the modern times!
It takes strength and courage to get help!
The community should be taught how to look out for depression in individuals .Cant expect everyone with depression to seek help.Sometimes these individuals are too caught up in their minds and feelings to do anything for themselves until its too late and there might be consequences
love 💜💛💚🧡
I forgot how to feel depression because i had it almost everyday and already think it is my normal life
I guess you are proud of it
One fatal flaw: it asks all the questions
When I'm feeling terrible because of it... I don't go out of bed and that's most of the time it's terrible cause I don't feel like fighting for anything and I barely eat 2 times at day.
Me too! not that i do it , but im pretty sure if I just get up and get dressed and ready to got out the door almost like an emergency I only really need clean socks for me. then decide how i feel. i always get up for someone else but never force myself for me. anyone can be ready in 15 or less. if all i focus on is getting ready
so sad, the world is so wonderous
