- The intense fight scene from the motion picture Chrystal (2004) that coincides with Chrystal (Lisa Blount) singing a beautiful folk song. From what I've gathered, this is actually Lisa singing. She also apparently did this on the first take.
If you have not seen this movie, you should check it out. The music is great and the story is very good, as well.
Let me add this is my number one fav movie of all time great stuff
I cannot get tired of this. And I have tried.
this movie was actually filmed within 5 miles of my house. I remember when they shut down local road traffic while they were filming. great movie
Where did they film it?
Where was this filmed from Esmont VA Soapstone quarries. In the movie I thought it looked like quarries but not sure. I know it would be Soapstone.
Eureka Springs, Arkansas
Yes… great movie!!!
Where is this restaurant in Eureka. I want to find it.
I just love how the song and the fight start to intertwine... and then you see Billy look around as if the wind carries her voice to him... and you see how so very much he still loves her... This is most brilliant film making. At its absolute best. We don't have many films like that anymore recently.
I also have to laugh because those kinds of people are literally my husband’s kin.
amen
I would pay really good money for this soundtrack.
This film is so sad, but I love it, this song makes me so emotional, her voice is astounding
All of the music in Chrystal (the movie) was beautiful. Story was excellent.
thank you so much for posting this. i found the DVD at a Hollywood video in Suffolk county that was closing down, then lent it to someone...amazing the way the beauty and the ugliness are edited together in these scenes. lisa blount didn't have the chance to do enough good roles before she died but we will always have this...the song just kicks you in the gut.
Hello philkification1 , I also had a copy, lent it out yet awaiting its return.Any chances of getting a copy? All the best to you and yours!
A dear friend of mine is an extra in the fight scene. Those in Eureka Springs know him as Panda. Great film...loved it.
forzacampari Hay dude my Uncle got a extra from erka springs!!! So Cool
I wish there were a recording to purchase of Emily singing this. She has passed away and I cannot find it available anywhere. The movie is a raw classic and her rendition lies perfect with the emotional turmoil this movie lays bare of humanity and in culture.
Exactly
Between this film and the Accountant... MASTERPIECES.
This was stuck in my head all night sleeping and the first thing I heard when woke up this morning, god I love her voice
I’m watching it right now . I watched it years ago and I’ve loved it ever since . I use to have it on DVD but don’t have it any more . I found it on VUDU
I adore this ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
AmaZing movie watch it every time I can!
Harry Dean Stauton what can I say enjoyed all of his works.
love this version of the old, old song.
Thank you for this video
R I P LISA
@45Kareena We were just up in Eureka Springs for a month primitive tent caping, hung out at the Lumberyard alot and heard some damn fine bluegrass music. What a place is Arkansas! :
This movie gave me the chills. Whenever I'm alone I love singing this song.
I love the inbred insults Joe throws at snake during the fight.
This movie was awesome and the music too
I have been busy re-doing and re-writing some of lyrics from this song. The hardest part is getting the key of the song right on my keyboard. Instead of the lyrics " I'll send you to your mama next payday" my version goes " and I'll send you to your maker on this day" and just a couple of lyric changes but nothing drastic
BILLY BOB FOR PRESIDENT
You can leave your sister here. Priceless
Do you call him Uncle-Daddy? lol
Hi Allison. :)

INTELIGENT FIGHTER !!!! ✌g
MY UNCLE IS IN THIS MOVIE
Could you upload the full ending scene please? I havnt seen this movie in forever, and I remeber the ending slightly, and it being sad. And I'd love to see it, so if you could upload it, thatd be awsome. Thank you.
skip to 4:20 for the song Lisa Blount sings!! "Red Rocking Chair" or "Sugar Baby", is the name....also check out Dock Bogg's version!
I have searched high and low to try to find a buyable or downloadable version of " Rocking Chair "...even called the movie company and got nowhere...someone please help me !!
Freak Show RUclips converter is how I got it. can't buy it anywhere
Just to note: The "pig" that's hitting Billy Bob is the husband of Lisa Blount. Phenomenoul and scary acting by both.
I have been trying to figure out the slap fight since I saw this movie. Is it some kind of Southern fight? Never saw it before.
No, it's a British thing.
It's a shame because Billy Bob Thornton was kicking Snake's ass until he turned his back and dropped his guard and then he lost because he let his guard down. Other than that, this one of the funniest fights I've ever seen in a movie lol.
badass
@lconeill1949 It seemed like Billy Bob Thornton just gave up and let Snake win though. That didn't make much sense to me but maybe he was just tired of fighting, I don't know.
Does anyone know the name of the first song played at the beginning of the fight?
0:35 best part of the fight
Is that Harry Dean Stanton just hanging out?
Is that Trevor from gta?
I always wondered why he just ended up letting himself get beat up? 😬
No kidding , just ask your local librayian(SP)
Richard Burnett!!!

He’s in the band, I think, but it’s when people start running outside, he’s one of the ones that goes outside
I think he was trying to pay 4 what happenned,...
Tell your mama I said Hi
