  • NOTE: I'd suggest you use a quality headphone preamp with the 250ohm version of these headphones!
    The DT 990 PRO are circumaural headphones with open-back design. They provide exceptional spaciousness and detailed tonal depth. Their mild bass and treble boost ensure a pleasant sound. The bass is not overstated, but rather precise and the treble boost is powerfully present without sounding sharp.
    These open-back studio headphones are a reliable tool for any sound enthusiast. The wide stereo image and three-dimensional sound reproduction make the beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO headphones a loyal companion for producers.
    Outstanding tonal depth ensures that even small changes in the positioning of the acoustic source can be perceived while mixing.

    Fantastic Brodie! I’m a proud owner of the DT 990 pro and never found the highs shrill, metallic, fatiguing, piercing, etc. or any other negative adjectives that immature you-tubers and website forum commentators use. These are truly a wonderful pair of headphones.

    • @assloader
      @assloader Год назад +1

      The pads flatten over time and change the sound, out of the box it can be a bit shrill, people don’t know it’s the pads, also dt990 are the best headphones.

    I have a pair of these 250 ohms and I can say, these are the very best headphones I have ever own ( as of today). Music movies or gaming, hands down best sound for these outlet.

    I have a pair of these and a pair of 770s, both in 80 ohms. I use the 990s with my computer, and I really like how they sound: nice, full, and clear. I realize the 80s don't sound exactly like the 250s, but I would assume they are in the ballpark.
    I do voice-overs part-time, and I use the 770s when I'm doing that. I used to run a pair of Audio Technica M30x headphones, and while they did the job, they just made me sweat a TON. The 770s are a lot better with that, and for me that's especially important if I'm recording for very loud and screamy characters, where I can start sweating really hard, really fast lol.
    Would highly recommend either of these to anyone in the market for headphones.
    P.S: Have you ever had the opportunity to try out the NTH-100s from Rode, which came out back around March this year? Very similar price range as these two, and from what I've heard pretty nice for comfort and features. I have heard from some people that they have some durability issues, but at least sound-wise and feature-wise, I'm wondering if you had any input regarding them. :)

      @@apat8918I’d get a small one. I have the 990 250ohm and my GoXLR drives them, but not well. I’m going to go to the 80ohm model. I’d go 32ohm if you don’t want to deal with any amp.

      eq it bro, you are just sensitive to treble. Also, are you using a headphone amp? if you are blasting ur pc headphone output then it will really mess up ur shit.

    Just a follow-up question as well. I have Fosi Audio Dac-Q4 - it says on their side it only goes up to 200 OHM for headsets. So am I better off getting the 990 80 OHM? Or can it power the 250 OHM?

    • @brodiebrazil
      @brodiebrazil  Год назад +1

      I’d say better off with the 80s. You want enough drive to let the headphones do their thing.

    Can you recommend a decent but budget friendly amp for these babies? I just bought them for an "in the box" home studio, so I have no need for an audio interface but I imagine my laptop will not be able to drive them enough... Or maybe they will, I have had so many different answers to that question, I will have to wait and see what the volume is like.

    • @brodiebrazil

      80 ohm version... will be okay enough off laptop but probably not great. i'd suggest a good amp and then get the 250's. don't have a specific one i can recommend unfortunately
