Progress through the ages in an authentic world
Start out empty-handed and learn to survive by foraging, hunting, crafting, and fighting. Enter the stone age by knapping primitive stone tools and sculpting clay for essential pottery. Advance further by smelting copper for more powerful tools, creating bronze alloys, learning to work iron, and ultimately mechanizing common tasks.
Immensely large, immensely diverse procedural worlds
Enter a vast open world populated by a range of cute, strange, dangerous, and outright horrifying creatures. Vintage Story utilizes a great deal of procedural technology to create immensely diverse landscapes, climate conditions, and geological features to always keep exploration fresh and exciting.
A wicked universe backed by original story elements
Take on the role of a lost being in the body of a tall blue creature and discover the remnants of civilization. There is no linear storytelling; it is up to you to piece together who you are and what has happened from the little evidence that remains. During your journey you will encounter wayward creatures, find old stories, battle temporal instability, and endure temporal storms.
    Immersive crafting mechanics
Vintage Story aims to turn all crafting processes into an immersive, in-world experience. You create stone tools by breaking off individual stone pieces, form pottery by placing small bits of clay, and craft sturdy tools by casting molten metal or by working hot ingots voxel-by-voxel on an anvil.
    Geologically diverse
Every world you create is populated by a great degree of geological diversity. You will encounter:
    - Dozens of unique land forms
    - Varying rock strata that are host to specific minerals
    - Areas rich, poor, or completely devoid of certain minerals
    - Huge veins of quartz that harbor trace amounts of silver, gold and vugs - cracks in which large crystals can form
    - Rare, crystallized versions of minerals
    - Rare but huge domes of salt, which can be used as an effective food preservative
    Inspired by Nature
Tend to your soil to grow healthy crops. Apply slow-release fertilizer and compost old food. Cook any of our thousands of meals and care for your nutritional needs. Build a cellar for long term preservation of food. Engage in beekeeping, farming, and animal husbandry, but remember to protect your farm from local wildlife that's always eager for a free meal.
    Powerful creation engine
1000+ blocks build height, Multiplayer, WorldEdit Tools, Customizable Worlds, Easily moddable, Built from the ground up with modding in mind, The standard survival modes are mods themselves, Microblock chiseling, Immersive mouse mode, Model editor and animator, High graphics fidelity and playable on low end hardware.

It should be noted that during a Temporal Storm, drifters can spawn in ANY spawnable space... including the block the player is stood in. Therefore, the centre spot of the Drifter Trap should be spawnproofed. This could be as simple as putting a single Peat brick down on the block, or using a slab. Be aware that it is possible to slip off a slab, even when pressing Shift.

George: “You’re gonna over-dry your laundry.”
    Jerry: “You can’t over-dry.”

Jerry: “Same reason you can’t over-wet.”

At 3:50 Boiling water is a much better alternative (tho hard to find) for the pit. It passive kills them and you can AFK Temporal Storms so long as you shield yourself from rocks on the platform

Hope this is helpful to all you cats out there!
For the Player trap, If you're questioning the meteor bait block and land claim then fear not! Just set the land claim to be below the Meteor or other bait block, thus covering the rest of the trap/hole but still allowing your prey to break the bait! Happy hunting!

    @Papa
So, the mechanics of the player trap works on ALL gravity-affected blocks, right??
Well, then if so, I have a more utilitarian use in mind for it...
A BETTER WAY to gather up Charcoal without using a shovel:
Firewood and Charcoal are both gravity-affected blocks which means that we can build our Charcoal pit the same way as the trap using Firewood instead of sand. After the burning of all the Firewood into Charcoal, the Charcoal should fall freely to the bottom of the pit.
I haven't tested this yet, but it does sound like it would be fun to test and see if it works!

Wow, that's incredibly creative. It makes sense that what you said would work. I think you're onto something here!
I think i may join you in testing that out 🤔
      Well played lol

It doesn't work. When i tested it the charcoal was made just fine, but then it was floating charcoal 😂 gravity had no affect.

@@PapaCheddar You know, a particularily CHEESY way to mod it would be to get in there and alter the properties of Charcoal ...if it's based on MineCraft it will have a uniquite item ID number. Lol just change that from true to false or something like that... too stoned for tech atm.

That's a pretty blatant trap. I'd suggest doing that on a beach or sandy biome, so it blends. Also, put the iron block on the same level as the sand, so it looks like it's spawning naturally. You'd be better off making the trap bigger, as well. I know I don't get that close to stuff when I'm mining it. What you could also do is line the walls and floor with torches, preventing someone from noob poling out. If you're doing this on a beach, I'd suggest bating the trap with a pretty shell, rather than meteoric iron. First, not everyone has iron+ tools to mine it. Second, that sort of a boon would provoke a bit of paranoia on a server.
I'm not even sure if any of this would work... If you're using claimed land to trap them in there, how would they break any block to trigger the collapse?

    • @PapaCheddar
      @PapaCheddar  3 года назад +2

Haha yeah the trap needs to be adapted to fit the situation. Mainly just showing the trick with doors and sand/gravel to get the job done 🤪.
The land claim would have to be at the level just below the breakable bait block.
Oooo a shell would work well! Haha i go for every shell i see, every single shell 😂 ole papa cheddar would fall for his own trap!

🤣 yeah, i dunno if this still works. If it does though, you totally could dig a deep death pit.
