The basic principles of Christianity are seen as controversial only because we live in a heathenistic society. Imagine that, it's controversial because of it's basic theological content and principles, but someone giving their kid a sex change operation or having an abortion is seen as widely accepted when those are completely unnatural and centered in selfishness...

Well divorce and cheating are directly contrary to most peoples marriage ideals. There is no inherent disagreement between the concept of commencement and the idea of a woman choosing mother and homemaker as their primary career. After all commencement is just that. Commence living your adult life, whatever direction that it takes you.
