Need the power when in higher elevations because a lot will be robbed by the atmospheric pressure. Yes it is a workout, but it's nice to have longevity and reliability.
I'll take the weight for reliability and longevity of the machine all day. There's a reason yamahas outlast every other sled brand. I'll never touch those cheap junk lightweight ski doos.

Explain what you mean by "not good?" Power is needed in higher elevations to get through deep snow and up steep slopes. Also, elevation robs horsepower because of the reduced atmospheric pressure. Apex is a heavy sled compared to 2-strokes, so more power is needed to overcome the weight. You wouldn't put 325hp in a trail-only sled, but it isn't as high as it may seem in this type of situation. Cars are a lot more efficient in how they put down the power.

Lower gearing means more torque. Longer track sleds are geared lower to turn the longer track and they get good acceleration but blistering speeds of 100+ mph have to be jettisoned
Yep you are right & no where in my comment did I say that.I was simply stating to the other guy that the sled has a blow off valve,& your sled also sounds like it has an exhaust leak ,which really effects the performance of this turbo sleds.

310 hp in a stock Subaru WRX STI weighing in over 3000 lbs is quick, let alone a 600 lb sled with 15 more horsepower.
