I used a standard 3-point lighting. adjust the angle of those three sources of lighting. A key is lighting the speaker as much as possible. For example, you may add a strip LED along the frame to add lighting. Play with the camera settings as well so the glare on the glass is minimized while the subject is fully lit. In the studio, you may see a lot of glad, but with proper camera setting, you will get crispy video.
Ours is 48 x 92 x 3/8 inches. It is not plexiglass, instead it is glass. It is heat-tempered for safety and low iron for truer color. I have also built a smaller unit with 3/8 inch-thick plexiglass, and it works fine. I think a lightboard with a dimension up to half of ours would work fine with plexiglass. Any bigger dimension, you may experience an unstable surface while writing on it. The construction is based on Prof. Michael Peshkin's. The detail is at lightboard.info/ and the parts are listed at lightboard.info/home/parts.html Good luck!
Hello sir.. I made a light board using extra clear thick 12 mm glass.. and I have started using it.. Only problem is I am not able to clean the glass.. I tried almost everything.. Water, soap solution etc. Sir, I request you, Would you please suggest how to clean it well !
You may review the glass cleaning process starting from ruclips.net/video/h6KhN09DGmY/видео.html For more detail, the glass cleaning spray we use is called "Sprayway Glass Cleaner" by Sprayaway, Inc. You can find them at Amazon. We use a good quality microfiber cloth. I don't recommend cheap ones since they tend to leave fiber residue. To keep the glass really clean, you have to clean it multiple times. Another way to address it is by controlling the amount of light. Too much light on the glass and/or presenter reveals the smear. Also, adjust the camera aperture. Have fun.
Hi, this is Yun Moh, the presenter. Yes, that should work. The key is that the light being emitted to the glass sheet. Once the light beam hits the glass, it will spread throughout the glass sheet. And it will illuminate the marker ink. You can adjust the intensity using a dimmer switch or adding/reducing the LED lamps.
It is 48" by 90". I think it is 5/8" thick, harden, shatter-proof glass for rigidity as well as safety. It is the biggest in the region. I've seen ones that are a 1/2 the size (most commercial ones). Then, it could be thinner.
Yes. We have a faculty member who built his own lightboard at home. It is about 2/3 of this one in size - ours is 94 by 48 inches. He uses his smartphone, and it works fine. We use a consumer level video camera - Cannon VIXIA HF R72.
Hi Thanks for this video I need to help me I need pay light board Tell me how to get a lighted board I live in Egypt and work as a math teacher and I want to develop my RUclips channel
We use Camtasia for post-production. Lightboard is essentially a sheet of glass wrapped around with an LED strip. The concept is super simple. It's just a matter of putting a few common things together. Here is how UCF built their own version at home: ruclips.net/video/qK1_Dnwfgqk/видео.html
I haven't been to Bangladesh, so I can't tell you the exact ways to get the neon markers. However, I can tell you that it is not an unusual item at local stationery stores in the US since many retail stores use it for their window decorations and advertisements. So, I would contact your local office and school supply stores. We order EXPO Neon Window Dry Erase Markers from Amazon.
Sir, You are very polite and expressing everything in detail..! I really liked that quality.. Great to have your video..!!

If you have an audio technician that knows how to take out the frequency of the sound of the marker squeaking on the glass, that would be great.
